3.9 From Ben for xmas
3.0 Pours a deep gold, spicy bubblegum nose, light malt body with candied sugar notes and some of that spice. Strong but not boozy tasting. Dangerously easy to drink. V nice.
3.5 Zachte smaak blond bier. Niet veel prik. Locatie: Antwerpen
3.2 500ml can at Hair Bar Estudio, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a mostly clear golden colour with a mostly lasting frothy white head. The aroma is malt, Belgian yeast. The flavour is moderate bitter, with a crisp, yeasty, woody hop bitter palate and a lingering bitter finish. Medium bodied with average carbonation.
3.6 Draught @ Broadway Dive Bar. Faintly cloudy dark yellow-copper with a large foamy off-white head, honey aroma, medium carbonation, medium bitter malty taste with honey flavor, smooth thin body, long finish. Very smooth and easy to drink.
3.9 Fräsch jäst, blomma. Bitter kryddig avslut.
2.7 Normal. Ligero toque dulce.
4.0 Had this on tap recently. Super tasty. Classic.
3.8 Hazy yellow color, lasting foam. Bubblegum aroma with slight sweet banana and a little spice. Flavor is candy sweetness, spicy finish with alcohol bite.
3.6 Can shared at home. Pours semi clear golden with a white head. Nose is fruity, estery notes, tutti frutti. Taste is fruity, citric notes, light grass, candi sugar, esters. Moderately dry, slight bitterness is in play too. Medium bodied, with an average carbonation.
3.9 Bottle from Tesco. Thought I'd already had this but must have been a different La Chouffe. Drank at room temperature. Mostly clear gold with great lasting white head. Aroma is sweet, yeast, clove, malts, hay, faint fruitiness; has a decent freshness to it. Taste of booze, spice with clove notable, orange peel, coriander sweet malts with a punchy bitterness to balance. Nice complexity to this for what is a mass market beer.
3.6 Sensory Session #69: almost clear, bright golden color and a nice white head. Belgian yeast, spicy, boozy, wheaty-witty, faint caramell sweetness, faint hoppy. A little Triple -like
2.6 Man. I thought I tasted this years ago! Whatever, I just hope my rating was not accidently 'lost'. It pours cloudy and pale with a big foamy head that goes craggy and then fades to a small island, heheeh. Taste is initially laid back, and it has a little bit of a course alky character, but nothing like the 8% would indicate. For this ABV, its rather well behaved, makes me wonder if it really is eight. Yeasty nose, you can tell its got a fine heritage. Yes, goes down very easy for what it is, this is the quality of a real beldgy beer. So many domestics try to duplicate these belgium trippels, but just can't get there. There, you have it, JMHO.
4.1 Lots of smoke when cap off. Bona fide frothy off white head of size. Bubbles resting over a hazy dull gold. Spicy and pungent yeast nose. The dollop of head a mini version of Duvel. Same brewery? Sticky lacing. A dry refreshing and tarty sweet on the palate. Distinctive from a mass market brew and in the family of Belgium Ales. Flavor is friendly, coalesced with a soon to arrive warming. Medium dry finish. Definite thumbs up.
3.0 mooie kleur minder smaakje beetje apart smaakje
5.0 Mejor duvel, amarga
4.5 Pours light hazy golden blond with a finger of white head. Aroma is honey, light bready malt, bubblegum, banana, lemon and lime zest, coriander and white pepper. Light to medium bodied, soft carbonation and an oily mouthfeel. Taste is honey, light malts, spicy, bubblegum, clove, coriander, lime and a peppery medium bitterness on the finish. No sign of 8% when drinking( you would think it’s around 6%) Fabulous example of brewing perfection. Just delicious and so easy to guzzle.
3.9 Cloudy brown, big off white head. Aroma of malt and banana. Rich fruity taste, coriander, bergamot, lots of carbonation, surprisingly bitter, even acrid finish. Fond of this for old times sakes.
3.6 Bière belge amertume maîtrisée, céréale, pas trop d’alcool, pas trop sucré
4.1 Gold with nice carbonation and head thought I'd already rated it like a cultured duvel nice
3.9 Licht zoet Lekker
4.1 Nem bántó az erősség, finom
3.6 Cloudy amber colour. Aroma is mild, some malt, clove. Taste of coriander, lemon, clove. Juicy, fruity, fresh. Similar to a witbeer but better. Very good.
