La Cumbre Elevated IPA

La Cumbre Elevated IPA

Did someone ask for hops? Tired of beers that promise a full lupulin experience, but never deliver more than richly malted bitterness? It’s no secret that this is what we excel at. We’ve been brewing world class IPAs for years. Our flagship is the culmination of a decades worth of studying and brewing. Take a step above and acclimate to what an IPA should be.

4.0 Can 0,56L. Courtesy of Gregor. Clear, dark golden color with large, creamy, long lasting, off-white head. Aroma is piney, resin and malty with minor notes of tropical fruits in the background. Taste is moderate to heavy bitter, rich malty and slightly alcohol warm up. Very smooth with touch of sweetness at the end of the sip.
3.9 Can in the local shop of Tusayan, Arizona. damn good beer selection here, and all singles. a dream. this was sitting in their shelf overdue though, but I had to try it anyway. fruity, floral, great balance towards bitterness. superb.
4.2 Can [many thanks to KevinReddirt, IP trade in Arnhem] at home. Clear golden to slight golden-amber color, medium to full sized white to off-white head. Aroma is lovely, hops hit my nose instantly upon opening, delicious. Flavor is hops, resinous hops all over, lightly pine and spruce notes, but mostly fruit hop-resinous (old school fruity hop, not the fruit juice you often get nowadays). Love it. Nicely bitter, though for me even a bit more bitterness would have been great. Body is decent ot medium, carbonation is soft to average. Very pleasant. Thanks a lot Kevin!
3.8 Pours light amber with a lasting white head. Aroma is very nice, lots of hops. Palate is pretty good, good balance.
4.0 Can at THT January. Hazy golden with white head. Sweet malts, massive hops, oats, tropical fruit. God damn, the classic IPA. IT STILL EXISTS! Loving this. Big sweet and moderate bitter. Over medium body and soft carbonation.
3.8 Shared at the first 2019 THT. Pours a clear golden with a white head. Citrussy, orange, sweet malts.
3.8 Can at first THT 2019. Bit hazy goldenwith white head. Grapefruit, sweet malts, light caramel malts, dank hops, tangerine, soft toasty malts. Medium sweet and quite bitter. Solid medium bodied.

4.2 Pours nice dark amber color. Hit with wonderments smell of dank hops. I’m a hop head so I love the bitterness, the resin taste. My only wish is for a little more body in the finish
3.7 Draught @ Falling Rock Tap House, Denver, CO. Sweetish, bready malty and grassy hoppy with some pine, resin, caramel and toffee notes. Smooth and balanced old school IPA.
3.8 16 oz can. Pours clear copper colored. Aroma of spruce, pine, grapefruit. Flavor of pine, citrus, grapefruit. Hoppy and robust. Very nice.
4.0 skunktastic--resin, pine, cat pee, grain. intense bitterness but not quite harsh, right on the edge of that, held back by pine, almost caramel, alcohol & leather. amber yellow with off white head. a little oil weight, but also surprisingly clean on the palate. well-balanced finish, a bit of alcohol warming.
4.0 Can from Trader Joe's, Santa Fe. resin pine aroma. Taste is a little sweet and citrusy, with a very bitter piney finish.
3.6 Draft pour. The beer is a clear gold with a white head of foam. The aroma is herbal and grassy with a big citrus character. Medium body and medium carbonation. Decent overall.
3.7 Can. Pours a nice clear golden orange with a fizzy head and aromas of oranges, a bit of honey and a touch of pine. Flavor is decent. Oranges up front and resin in the finish. It comes across as a little malty/chewy for my IPA preferences, but it's a good one.
3.5 Golden amber pour. Orange, grapefruit, caramel, grassy finish. Full mouthfeel. Tasty!
2.9 August 19th, 2013 - Cumbre's Get Elevated IPA is a solidly median IPA, neither good nor bad, but with a hop profile that is boring on its own but fits a meal very nicely. The aroma is generically hoppy and reminds me of old school pale ales, neither sweet nor grapefruity. The flavor is flattish but the palate is fine. Nice and buoyant, it has a sharp hop profile that lasts a long way through the aftertaste, but is both a little direct and metallic.
4.2 On tap at brewery. Thick white head. Golden orange color with good clarity. Long lasting, heavy lace. Aroma is pine and citrus. Toasted, nutty wet straw flavors with a bItter finish. Nice thick mouthfeel. Worth drinking again and again.
3.8 Right as you pour it you can smell the fruity aroma. Comes with a bit of pine, and lemon zest. Dark ginger colored and clear like a west coast ipa. Bubbles fizz fast to the top and clears out quickly. White head with inconsistent sized bubbles. Palate comes with a light-medium texture. Taste of citrus, grapefruit, hops, pine, biscuit, some sweetness that gets cut with a dry bitter hop finish. Even though it leaves the mouth dry, it's oddly thirst quenching that makes me keep grabbing the glass.
4.0 Sampled at UCBC Wolpertinger 2018 - It pours orangish yellow with a white head. The aroma has pineapple, grapefruit and dry malt. It has a medium body with soft carbonation. The taste has smooth malt, pine and zest. Lots of balance going on here, especially for something listed as 100 IBUs.
4.0 16oz can, Total Wine SDL. Hazy golden orange with a thin off/white head and good lacing. Loads of citrus-grapefruit, juicy tangerine, orange rind, pine resin, caramel. Full body. Long, bitter grapefruit finish. Yum.

3.5 9th August 2017 GBBF Day 2. Cask. Lightly hazy gold beer, small white head. Palate is smooth, semi dry and has decent fine carbonation. Smooth malts, lightly sweet. Tangy citrus and tangy orange peel. Little hop spice. Trace of pine. Light finish. Tidy if unspectacular.
3.6 16oz can. 7/4/17 can date. Appearance: Deep golden orange, mostly clear with a light haze, and a moderate thick foam head and decent lacing. Aroma: Dank, resinous, grassy hop aroma dominates, with a touch of grapefruit pulp and toasted malt. Taste: Bready, caramel maltiness with a touch of toast turns spicy and grassy resin and a strong bitter finish with some grapefruit. Mouthfeel: Medium to heavy bodied for the style, with a moderate carbonation. Finish: Dry, sticky resinous bitterness remains on the tongue long after the swallow. Touch of toasted malt comes back retronasally. Overall: Well made take on a true traditional American IPA. Has the resinous grapefruit character against a strong malt base that brings the body and balance of a traditional AIPA as opposed to West Coast
3.7 Cask at The Great British Beer Festival 2017, Olympia, London. A golden/amber coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Hoppy, tropical fruit, grapefruit, pine on the nose. Tastes hoppy, tropical fruit, grapefruit, pine, quite bitter. Very tasty IPA from La Cumbre, had good stuff from this brewery.
3.8 Pine, intense, overripe tropical and citrus fruits, mango, papaya, marmalade, bitter orange, candy. Slightly hazy, dark gold. Medium to heavy sweet. More pine, overripe tropical fruits, papaya, mango, soft carbonation, full bodied. Fantastic IIPA, great aroma and palate. Cask at GBBF17, Kensington Olympia.
