3.9Good IPA. Pine is the preferred media of the artists. The IPA is plentifully chocked with pine inducing hops. Malts are well complemented.
3.3Orange-gold pour, small white head. Light floral aroma. Flavor of grass, citrus, and caramel. Bitter. Tasty.
3.5From notes, tasted at Great American Beer Festival 2017. Will add more notes if I get to try this again. Solid
4.0Draft at a 'Shroom. Light color but big character. Dank indeed. A chewy hop character dominates. Crazy large beer for such a light color. (#6923, 1/2018)
4.0Bottle courtesy of the always lovely ketchepillar!
Pours a nice lightly hazy yellow color with a big head and nice lacing on the glass.
The aroma is bright and fresh with lots of citrus forward hops and a bit of mild cattiness.
The flavor packs a nice punchy bitterness and a lot of fruity hop flavor to match. It's very grapefruit and orange forward with a bit lingering resiny character
really delicious
3.8From a bomber bottled on November 29, 2017. Pours a clear orange gold with an off white head. Aromas of citrus, passion fruit and pine. Flavors are bitter citrus peel. Lingering bitter finish. Nice IPA.
4.2New Mexico Beer Fest. Hazy golden yellow color beautiful fluffy white head. You’ll never guess but the aroma is dank. Taste is too. Very tasty.
3.9Sampled at GABF 2017 in Denver, CO. Numerical rating only - did not take detailed notes.
3.9La Cumbre normally brews it up right, how about Project Dank? Acquired in New Mexico along with a number of other, one-off beers, this 22 oz bomber is poured ice cold into a bar beer mug. It comes out an opaque, yellow-orange with a pure white top and healthy carbonation. The nose is grapefruit and cut hay. The payoff taste, yes, pretty much a hop bomb. Pine, heavy citrus, thick pine resin. It recalls Hop Stoopid, very much a compliment.
3.2Bottle from Trader Joe's. Pours cloudy orange color with small white head. Floral fruity dank aroma. Taste is all hops throughout with a dry almost dusty bitter dry hop finish. Medium body. Interesting but ultimately unbalanced effort.
3.8Bottle from the brewery shared with Zac at the Purgatory condo. Really happy with this IPA because sometimes these project beers get over the top with the bitterness or dank-ness. This had a nice blend of citrus and pine bitterness plus sweeter caramel malt for balance. Also a light hint of earth minerals with the dankness. Really nice.
3.8Bottle shared by BelgianBeerGal. Hazy, deep golden with white head. Fruity, piney aroma. Hint of sweetness, but mostly dank hops. Finish is a little citrusy, not overly bitter. Nicely done.
4.1Yellow copper color, decent foam. Juicy and dank. Right balance of bitterness on the tongue, a bit of pine to go with the fruit. Excellent brew.
4.1Cloudy dark gold with nice sized off white head. Big fruity, dank and citrus nose. Flavor is big with the same. Very smooth and clean.
4.2Had a few times since its release, always a treat .. . is very dank and green, a touch sweet. clean and balanced .. . its good on the finish, a solid ipa. . . now, if you would hit the back button, we’ll pretend you never wasted time reading this.
3.9On tap at Hunahpu Day. Been wanting to try this for a long time now. Clear golden. Smells, as described, dank. Some tropical fruit behind the herbal and dank hops. Tastes of green, resiny, and citrusy hops. Sweet pale malt. Low bitterness. Medium body and a little sweet. Very good.
4.2Served on tap at Hops & Pies. Cloudy orange color with a white head. Orange peel grapefruit strong hops aroma. Sweet tropical fruit with hops throughout but with a clean finish. No bitter bite at the end. Medium heavy sticky body. Really nice west coast style IPA.
3.8Tap at La Cumbre Brewing, Albuquerque. Colour is cloudy orange with small white head. Aromas and flavors: Fruits, tropical fruits, sweetness, hops and malts.
3.8Gravity Cask Third of a Pint at GBBF 2015, Olympia, London Aug 2015 - Hazy Orangey Gold in colour. Average off-white foamy head. Fair lacing. Very Hoppy; intense piney hops. Fruity; tangy grapefruit and orange citrus. Malty; toasty malts, caramel. Very bitter hoppy fruity throughout. Dank hops sums it up. Great stuff. Enjoyed this. Fantastic Hoppy IPA! (2015-08-13)
3.922 oz bottle, bottled on 9/23/16. Pours slightly hazy straw gold with a medium rocky white head that retains well and laces the glass.
The aroma is a little cracker malt and a bunch of peppery piney resiny hops.
The flavor is sweet tropical fruit malt and a lot of spicy resiny piney dank hops. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with low carbonation.
Overall, a nice spicy resiny IPA.
3.8Fall 2016 release. Pours a slightly cloudy golden color, with a nice white head. Has a floral aroma, with complex hops notes. Taste is rich, hoppy, and complex. This is an excellent IPA, thumbs up.
3.8Draught at the La Cumbre Brewing Co, Albuquerque, NM.
Slightly cloudy golden color with a small to mid-size foamy white head.
Citrusy hops, mild bitterness, dry malt and yes, some dank in the aroma.
The flavor is citrusy, lemony and resiny hops, moderate bitterness, dank and some balancing malt. Citrusy. Balanced.
3.7651 ml. bottle. 7.5% ABV per the label. Pours a medium thick, well retained, off white head, with extensive lacing, over a very slightly hazy dark gold (SRM 6) effervescent body.....nose is heavy pine, resin grapefruit citrus from the hops, mild toasted malts, balance to the hops.......taste is mildly floral sweet with light toasted malts, heavy pine, resin, moderate grass, allium, finishing with moderate hops bitterness, balance to the hops........mouth feel, medium body, mild alcohol, medium carbonation. This is a quite typical hop dominated in aroma, flavor and bitterness American style IPA. It is enjoyable, if one likes hops. The malt backbone is a bit light, and the allium is a bit strong. BJCP 7/3/14/4/6
3.1GBBF 2016. - Clean pale golden color with a minimal white head. Aroma is crispy and tangy with lemon juice. Taste is also citric with more lemon juice tangerine and straw. Light bodied with OK carbonation. Overall, OK
3.9Bottle thanks to my Father-in-Law Dan: Poured a clear golden with fluffy white. Aroma danky hops. Taste is super earthy with malts balance.
3.722 oz. bottle purchased at the brewery. This has been on my wants list for years.
Transparent orange body with a frothy white collar. Steady effervescence emanating from the bottom of the glass. Aromas of citric hops, followed by light malt, dank hop character. Hop forward for sure, but tempered by a sturdy malt bill. As far as "balanced" IPAs go, this is solid. Lingering tangy grapefruit juice / zest adds a piquant note in the finish. Tasty.
3.9Gravity @ GBBF 2014. Brilliant gold pour with a small frothy white head. Nose is quite dank indeed. General green biomass. Some underarm. Sea grass. Lemon zest. Nice bright hop-forward flavor. Citrus and tropical fruits. Melon salad. Light cheesiness. Herbal bitterness. Soft biscuit body. Medium body, a bit sticky. Soft carb. Surprisingly lively given its long journey. Cool stuff.
3.5Cask at GBBF 2016. Light amber shade. Small head. Sweetish malts with long bitter hop flavours. Lots of grassy and tropical fruit notes packed in. Glad to try it but I don’t think it shines on cask.
3.6Gbbf. Fast klare hell goldgelbe Farbe. Geruch mild zitronig hopfig, grasig. Geschmack sehr hopfig bitter, zitronig, süß, okay!
