La Ramée Amber

La Ramée Amber

The amber colour is the result of brewing a pure variety of two-row spring malt, the addition of roasted wheat along with a careful selection of spices in its recipe.
La Ramée is a non-filtered high fermentation beer, re-fermented in the bottle, exceptionally easily to digest, with a slightly peppery flavour.
In order to enjoy the fullness of its flavour, we advise you to savour it at a temperature of between 7° and 10°C.

In 2015-2016 for sure brewed at Du Bocq.

3.2 10/2/2007 2:08:07 PM Bottle from Frits. Red amber colour. Foamy head. Nice taste. Bitter, malty, strong. Sweet too. Prickly. Slightly too high alcohol taste. Bitter finish. Good.
3.4 (La Ramée Amber) Bottle 330 ml at home, served into a trappist glass, ABV 7.5% Deep red to amber colour on the body, a bit hazy, with a tall and frothy tan head, with average retention. The aroma has caramel, red fruits, some bubblegum, pears, dates. Taste also of caramel, sweet, with red fruits, some peaches, dates, ripe pears. Medium thin body, highly carbonated. Decent belgian.
2.3 Sampled at Délirium Hoppy Loft, Brussels. Small but lasting beige head. Small yeast depossit in the botle. Clear dark red-amber beer. Tiny aroma from roasted malts. Small maltiness and medium bitterness.
3.5 (bottle 0,33l) Aroma: Fruity, sweet. Appearance: Hazy, light amber color. Huge, beige head. Taste: Medium sweet, fruity. Palate: Medium body. Dry, light warm finish. Overall: Nice fruity belgian.
3.5 Pours a thick beige head with floral aromas. Hazy Amber body. Long in mouth with an acidic finish. Happy palate with bitter aftertaste.
3.0 Color ámbar, bastante bonito. Menos espuma que la mayoría de las triple, que pronto deja la típica película. Buen cuerpo y muy carbónica. Agradable sabor entre caramelo y naranja. Pero no está entre las mejores tripel.
4.1 Pours reddish amber with large tan head. Aroma is cranberry, bread, caramel, honey, molasses, metal. Taste is sweetish and powerful, developing metallic notes. Full-bodied and long-lingering.
3.7 Une très belle ambrée, équilibrée entre épices, fruit, fraîcheur, longueur et amertume. Belle bière
3.4 Love the taste, love the aroma, love how it looks BUT ... the carbonation is killing me. I’m burping three times after each sip. Lovely beer but cannot really enjoy it.
3.5 33cl flesje bij De Gouverneur, Maastricht Alcoholpercentage van 7,5% Uitgeschonken in origineel Ramée glas Uiterlijk: amber/oranjekleurig, weinig schuim Aroma en smaak: rozijnen, kandijsuiker, donker fruit, ijzertje Conclusie: wel lekker aangenaam
3.0 330ml bottle from BePLUS, Xiamen. Pours dark amber with an off white head, thinly retained. Aroma of malt and Belgian yeast. Sweet finish. Ok not great.
2.8 Bottle 33cl. White head sticking. Clear dark amber brown color. Aroma is oak, grapes, carbonation. Taste is dry of oak, wood.
3.1 The amber coloured one in this series of abbey beers, with yellowish white head and a malty character, caramelly, somewhat nutty, slick, sourish touch, spicy notes, medium hop bitterishness in the finish. Perfectly acceptable but not very memorable either. As for style: anyone aware of Belgian beer styles will see that this one should be labelled here as a "Belgian strong ale" (or ’edelbier’, to use OBP’s old qualification) and the blond one as an "abbey tripel", instead of the other way around...
3.6 Pours hazy amber with a big, off-white head. The aroma contains banana, caramel, malt, bread, some nuts and spices. It tastes medium caramelly sweet and light fruity sour, some nuts. Dry, bready, bit spicy finish. Medium body, slick texture, fizzy carbonation. Decent overall. (Edited 4/1/18)
3.6 Bottle at an Italian joint in Antwerp. Pours amber colored, slightly hazy, with a big frothy white head on too. Aroma of some fruit, spice, little yeast funk. Flavor follows with sweet amber ale notes--light cherries, fig, bit of bready malt--and is supplemented by a subtle Belgian yeast and spice note. Very easy drinking brew, clean finish, with medium plus carbonation. Overall I found this to be a perfectly pleasant everyday beer. Not bad.
3.9 Bottle. Pours a clear amber with a nice foamy head the color of eggshells. The aroma is fruity with apricots and also toasted malts. The flavour is fruity, malty, caramel, honey. Smooth, complex, unlike anything I have tasted before.
3.6 Bottle, Taverne de l'homme bleu, La Hulpe. Amber, beige head. Aroma ginger bread, taste sweetish and malty.
4.6 Een heel lekker amber-bier. Een van de beste bieren dat ik ooit geprobeerd heb.
3.4 330ml bottle. @home 27-07-2014. BBD: out of date for 6 months. In short: average belgian ale. Pours hazy amber with nice off white head. Moderate head retention, some lacing. Malty, spicy, caramel, yeasty aromas. Medium body, average carbonation, some crispy texture. Taste is sweet, liquorice, malty, caramel. Enjoyable.
3.1 Drunk at chez Eddy in Rhode St Genese. Refreshing hoppy amber beer.
1.5 I don’t like this but apparently reviews aren’t bad. To me immediately aroma was medicinal or almost minty. Feels thin and flavor is a bit harsh.
