Absolut toppklass!
3.6 Bottle 330ml at home. From Alko. 2023-05-27. Pours cloudy golden with off white head. Flavor has yeast, alcohol, orange peel, spices, malts. Full body, average carbonation, bitter boozy finish.
3.7 (Bottle, 0.33 l - BB 27.05.2023, from Alko, 20201113) The beer poured golden and hazy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had grass, hon3, Belgian style yeast and mals. Palate was medium bodied and lightly warming with medium carbonation. Flavours were honey, Belgian style yeast, grass, spiciness, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste had spiciness, Belgian style yeast and bitterness. A tasty and complex brew with bit too intense alcohol warmth.
4.1 Pullo @Alko. Upea vahhva belgi, selkeät maut, joita on riittävän monipuolisesti. Lisäksi ulkoasu ja suutuntuma täydentävät pakettia hyvin.
3.8 75cl bottle from Cora in Brussels. F: huge, egg-white, creamy, long lasting. C: deep gold, light hazy. A: malty, bit floral, fruity, bit honey, spicy, dough, bit banana. T: full malty base, bit honey, fruity, decent long lasting bitterness, bready, caramel, hint of juniper alcohol, bit yeasty, soft carbonation, spicy, bit too simple to be great but very good, enjoyed for sure.
3.6 This is a backlog rating from late 2011 on draft, from notes. When I had this beer it was average to below average for the style and not something I wanted to have again or I just didn't get back to my notes because of my technology at the time. Words to describe this beer are bready malts, sweet, very fruity, seems light for 10%.
3.7 Pours clear holden with large white head, good retention. Bread, yeast, tangerine, orange peel, some floral notes. Medium body and average carbonation.
3.7 Bottle, 750 ml shared with Miro B and Max at the hotel tasting. Hazy orange with huge white head. Fruity, yeasty, peach, sweetish, bitterness in finish. Medium bodied.
3.7 Bottle. Millesime 2018. Color: Clear golden, white head. Aroma: Malt, forest fruit, hints of yeast. Taste: Over medium sweet, malty, notes white sugar, sweet (blue)berries, peach, yeast, light hints of grapes. Moderate bitterness. Alcohol is well hidden. Over medium to full body, below average carbonation. Nice but pretty sweet beer.
4.3 Spina @ Petrarca (LO). Schiuma bianca, fine e compatta. Al naso arrivano distintamente miele, luppoli erbacei e poi spezie. In bocca ha un buon corpo, carbonazione leggera. Abbastanza dolce, leggermente speziata e finale secco. Alcol molto importante ma non invadente. Un'ottima strong ale.
3.6 Candied apple and lots of booze like you got drunk in the Belgian candy shop. Some citrus, and florals. Hazy golden pour with good foamy head and lacing. Tap at Soveriegn
3.0 Backlog. 750 ml bottle from Belgoklubben. Hay yellow with white head. Yeasty boozy strong beligan blond ale. Semi sweet with low bitterness and medium carbonation.
3.2 White creamy white head. Deep golden colour. Aroma is moderately hoppy with fruity pear apple and plumes. Flavor is hoppy with herbal and fruity tones, ending in an hoppy finish. Medium bodied.
Complexe. Rappelle la Bon Voeux de Dupont.
5.0 sjukt smakrik och komplett trippel!
4.0 Bottle. Nose of bread, citrus, and pungent yeast. Cloudy blond color. Sweetish stone fruit, light citrus, small sugar note. Medium-full body. Good balance, moderately full flavors, and great development through palate stages
3.4 2nd October 2017: 75cl bottle, BB 2021. Cheers Mat for bringing this to the monthly Shrewsbury Beer Exchange meeting. Misty golden pour, white topping. Yeasty aroma, taste was boozy, fruity and semi-sour: half Saison, half Belgian Strong Ale.
3.7 Golden, hazy, lot of floating bits. malty, honey, more honey, herbal, some bretts. Very bitter, intense.
4.3 75cl bottle @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie Oct 17. Courtesy of myself. Pours a misty gold, small foamy brilliant-white head. Lovely fresh saison-like aroma. Taste is balanced, strong, smooth with a nice soft yeasty character, some bubblegum-like sweetness emerging. Excellent strong Saison-like belgian strong ale.
3.8 Bottle. Mig's Wines, Brussels. Pale amber. Soft haze. Thin, dense, lacing, lasting, white head. A bit slow moving and leggy. Looks the business. Nose has barley sugars. Toffee apple. Baked apple. Pear drops and banana. Bit of ginger spice. Taste is sweet and chewy. Lots of herby bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel. Drinks easy at the ABV. Herbal bitter finish.
3.3 Piwne Degustacje, Browariat Katowice (10.09.2017) Wersja 2013. Pomarańczowy kolor, wysoka piana. W aromacie i smaku podonie. Potężne utlenienie. Dużo nut miodu wielokwiatowego. Poza tym pomarańcze, morele. W tle dużo przypraw, fenoli. Alko świetnie zamaskowany. Po tym czasie doskonale sie ułożył. Umiarkowane ciało, długi przyprawowy finisz. Nic wielkiego...
3.0 Aroma: honey, cereal, white pepper, apricot. Taste:moderate sweet, cereal, white pepper, honey.
3.5 Clear, golden, lots of particles, nice head. Very oxidated. Quite light body, meeium swetness. Long bitter, bit alco finish.
4.0 750 ml bottle into tulip glass; 2017 vintage bottling, batch No. 2. Pours slightly hazy/cloudy golden amber/light orange color with a 2 finger dense and rocky off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a large cap that lasts. Thick soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big lemon, orange, peach, pear, apricot, melon, red apple, white grape, peppercorn, and lightly toasted biscuit; with lighter notes of banana, bubblegum, clove, honey, nuttiness, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, bready malt, and light-moderate earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big lemon, orange, peach, pear, apricot, melon, red apple, white grape, peppercorn, and lightly toasted biscuit; with lighter notes of banana, bubblegum, clove, honey, nuttiness, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate yeast spiciness and herbal/grassy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of lemon, orange, peach, pear, apricot, melon, red apple, white grape, peppercorn, honey, biscuit, nuttiness, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, bready malt, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitter/spiciness balance, and zero cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from bitter/spiciness, lightly increasing through the glass. Medium-plus carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/sticky, and slightly syrupy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Mildly increasing warmth of 10% after the finish. Overall this is an excellent Belgian strong pale ale! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, bready malt, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to sip on for the big ABV. Perfectly balanced yeast and malt flavors, with very well rounded complexities. Never overly sweet or heavy feeling for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.
3.5 Nice appearance with amber colour and with white head. Nose slight yeast and taste is malty but still on the belgian Style. Palate medium with some bitterness.
3.3 Poured from a bottle, A hazy Caramel color, with a small white head. Medium sweet fruit aroma, with some spice and hop notes. A medium body with a sweet fruit flavor and a light spice finish.
3.3 Poured from a bottle. Cloudy, some debris, thin head lasts, creamy and tart. Fruity.
2.2 Poured from a bottle. Murky Caramel color, small white head. Medium sweet fruit aroma. Flat medium body with a sweet fruit flavor and a medium finish.
