La Socarrada Cervesa Artesanal Premium

La Socarrada Cervesa Artesanal Premium

La Socarrada is a "gastro-ale," or food-pairing golden ale made with only, water, malts (pils/amber), hops, yeast, rosemary, and rosemary honey.

La Socarrada pours a beautiful golden-amber color with a light, white, non-persistant head.

The nose is wonderfully appetizing, filled with rosemary, rosemary-honey, and a light bread-like quality.

The taste is full of rosemary, rosemary honey, and fruity characteristics along the lines of pear, apple, and fig. There is also a distinct gingery bite as well as a light note of black pepper.

The body is both crisp and pleasantly dry.

It is recommended to be served around 45° in a white wine glass or snifter.

3.6 33cl bottle from Ultracomida, Aberystwyth. Drank at home on 8th July 2018. Slight haze to the golden pour, white topping. I do not usually go for 'honey beers' but this sounded and looked interesting, and I really enjoyed it. The nose and taste both had honey notes within. Semi-sweet malty brew with the honey along something else herbal (Rosemary?) giving it an extra dimension and a little more character.
3.2 Aroma especiado, no muy potente pero agradable. Bastante turbia, poca espuma.
3.1 From bottle. Quite sweet with the honey coming through. A bit 'meh' for me. It's okay but nothing special
3.2 340 ml bottle. Pours a turbid copper color with light head. Aromas of lemon, herbs and wet malts. Flavors of earthy herbal honey and bready malts. Interesting.
3.6 Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - amber with a decent head which firstly fizzes away like it's going to disappear and then returns. Nose - honey and herbs for sure. Something a bit Christmasy. Spruce and dried fruits. Taste - more greenery and dried fruits. Amber malt backbone. Palate - medium-ish in body. Creamy throughout. Fairly good finish. Overall - yeah, like it!
3.2 Aroma: Radler lemon notes. Appearance: Dark gold color and clear liquid with rocky white head. Taste: Medium sweetness with light bitter notes. Palate: Light body with oily texture and soft average carbonation. Sweet honey finish. Overall: Leaves a soft honey memory, not too sweet but gives a contrast to the bitter touch. Goes with salad and snacks.
2.9 Opaque bronze colour. Small, bubbly head. Aroma is rosemary and yeast. Taste is honey, rosemary, and lemon.
1.7 Muddy brown, frothy beige head. Honey, cardboard, and herb garden. Very muddled, slightly sour. Unique, in the worst way. Drain pour.
3.0 Pivo u flaši. Aroma sladna i cvijetna. Taj ružmarin se baš ne osjeti previše. Okus je sladan i slatkast baš ono "medast". Tijelo nije pregusto i lagano gazirano.
2.9 330ml bottle from the shop, drunk at home. Pours thickly cloudy with a short-lived frothy head, lacing but no bead. Aroma of rosemary with hints of green apple. Lively at first in the mouth but no development; it soon feels soapy and sour and never really fills the mouth with either texture or flavour. Quite sweet with gentle bitterness mixed in with the sourness. Overall, unusual and good in parts, but sadly lacking in others.
2.8 Bottled, 330ml from R. Campbell & Sons, Leyburn, N.Yorks. Amber with short lived white head. The honey is pretty dominant in this, both on the nose and in the flavour, really quite sweet and sticky. It is herby with rosemary with also a note of spruce. Not a great beer but it's okay.
Cuerpo medio.
1.2 Neutral beer, what a pity my god. Three times I tasted it. And yet another one bites the dust.
2.9 Bottle @ Bar Bodega, Liverpool. Cloudy amber with a carbonation and a hoppy-fruity-floral nose. Rosemary is dominant in its taste and it lingers.
3.8 Thanks Fred for this bottle that you take from Valencia. We share this beer at your home, Petit-Lancy. In my point of view, it is a surprisingly good beer, original and perfectly refreshing for the summer. The body is yellow/orange and troubled, thin and white foam, normal carbonation, a bit sparkling. The taste is malty, bready, honey and rosmarin, some hop and the taste is well balanced, not heavy and a perfect pint to eat one typical and authentic paella of the region.
4.1 Has a wonderful sweet aroma, full of honey. Spice taste full of rosmarin. Light, good for summer.
2.8 Goudgeel/licht Amber, volle witte schuimkraag, troebel, veel koolzuur. Aroma: Gember, rozemarijn, floraal/bloemig.
3.1 Bottle shared @Freiburg testing. A copper beer, nose is on herbs, aroma is still on herbs, blond beer basis, spicy, did not get the honey, not much to say.
2.9 Bottle. Pours a hazy dark orange colour with a fluffy white head, the aroma is hoppy with hints of herbs, the taste is medium bitterness and the rosemary comes through with a dry bitter finish.
3.6 Something different. A really surprising taste! Just go for it if you'r in for a different beer.
2.7 Clear, orange colour, little head. Aroma is weak, malt and honey, spices. Flavour is similar. Body is rather low. Mediocre.
2.3 The beer has gpt a hazy amber-ruby colour with a small head and medium to thin body. Aroma of malt and grapes. Taste of grapes, herbs, spices, malt and spiced bread. Malty finish.
Curiosa y disfrutable.
3.6 citrus, amber, hazy, cloudy, medium bitterness, medium body, average carbonation, Al principio no dice mucho pero después el sabor es mucho mejor. 2013 gandia de grifo
