This ale contains no actual copper but we’re pretty literal... It looked coppery, so we lamely called it a copper ale. Lots’a nice caramel malt though...

3.6 Draught at Bierhaus, Cork. Copper pour with an off-white head. Sweet malty aroma with a nice caramel flavour.
3.0 Pours a rich brownish copper, clear except for some floaty bits. Aroma is rich spicy malt. Flavour is full as well as the body. The finish is slightly sweet.
3.5 Bottled. Clear amber colour with a small off-white head. Aroma and flavour of malt, caramel, fruit, hops and a bitter finish.
3.2 rusty copper color.. crystal clear.. deep orange.. short head that dropped in no time... no lacing. Bready malts and piney hops are front and central.. some fruitiness.. warm toastiness as it warms up. Nice medium body is appealling.. carbonation is fairly explosive but really only shows itself on my tongue.. palate is good but not great.. caramel and munich malts.. American hops... biscuity finish with a blast of pine.
4.0 This has been one of the best beers from Lagunitas that I’ve had, lots of good malty flavor lightly hopped easy drinking.
2.7 Bottle@Oljenkorsi. Amber color, white head. Sweetish malt aroma. Vegetable flavor with metallic notes. Medium body, medium carbonation. Meh.
3.9 Poured from bottle. Nice aroma of bread and honey. Appearance is copper with big lacing head. Tasting caramel, hops, pepper, molasses, banana, spice. Palate is actually a bit thin considering all the flavors. Overall, an interesting brew.
3.8 On tap at Lagunitas tap room, Pataluma (CA, USA). Semi clear copper color, off-white head. Nose: pastry, nuts, cookies. Mouth: rich Amber character, sweet crumb, clean dry finish, mild syrup. Nice.
3.4 Bottle in dc. Copper with medium white head. Malt and hop balanced, some resin honey sweetness. Rich, full body. Not as good as their ipas but still decent
4.3 piney and sugary qualities in the nose also dark fruit a hint of smoke..orage amber color clear with a thin white head that leaves lacing..tastes piney and resiny too with honey sweetness to balance as if lagunitas has attempted an east coast IPA..went down easy tingly and slightly sticky on the tongue overall its a nice red ale love the honey and the IPA character as well
3.4 355ml bottle at Mike’s, Xiamen. Pours clear copper amber with a white head. Aroma of malt and fruit. Bitter finish.
3.6 Bonito tom acobreado com espuma branca. Inicio com malte evidente, com posterior agradável amargor.
3.5 Copper colour, clear, full head. Honey and malt aroma. Round, malty taste. Balaned bitterness, balanced body.
3.0 Poured from a bottle. Pours a dirty copper with an off white head and some lacing. Light carbonation. Plenty of sediment suspended in the pour. Aroma is sharp with notes of bitter citrus rind and a hint of caramel. Flavor is mostly bitter and stays on the roof of your mouth. Fairly smooth finish with lingering bitterness. Not very refreshing. Not that bad but not great. Not my favorite style.
4.4 Poured from the tap into a pint glass. The appearance is a copper color with a large white head. The aroma is malt and sugary sweetness with fruit. The taste is very fruity with caramel malt. A very nice beer.
3.5 Wheat honey smells along with some copper tinge in the backdrop. Beautiful copper color. Flavor is Malti sweet at first followed up by a super Rind bitterness. Medium body light carbonation. More red ale then a copper ale.
3.1 This was not my favorite of their beers but it was certainly drinkable. I expected more of an Amber taste but it was a bit "off " of that, perhaps why it is more aptly described as copper. It is a bit bitter which is why I think I did not care as much for it as some other similar beers that have a caramel taste.
3.6 July 4th, 2012 - Happy 4th of July! Well, belatedly. This is a year and a half old review, but better late than never, right? Lagunitas’ rich copper ale is a rich, shaggy, late red ale, with tons of sweet apple skin scenes and a nice chalkiness, The flavor is equally rich and fruity with light strawberry and mango. The flavor is malty in depth and breadth, with much of the husk and sweetness of a good loaf of friend, and with a yeastiness I am beginning to recognize across Lagunitas’ beers. It fills the mouth and palate, and stands by itself, independent and stalwart. This is an ale that demands isolation, and focus, with its richness and palate domination.
3.2 Keg at the brewery tap room, Petaluma, 03/02/16. Orange copper with a decent off white covering. Nose is sweet malt, caramel, candied fruit peel, faint brown bread. Taste comprises caramel malt, toasted grain, light hop presence, candy bar. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Adequate amber.
3.9 Citrusy and resinous aromas, light caramel. Clear copper with a fully lasting white head. Flavors of caramel, toast, and resiny hops, pretty bitter. Medium bodied, crisp.
3.6 Draft at the brewery. Pours clear amber-copper with a creamy white head. Bready malts in the nose, light brown sugar. Medium sweet flavor with a bit of caramel, brown bread, toasted cereal, light leafy bitternesss medium bodied with average carbonation. Sweet finish, more toasted cereal, mild caramel. Easygoing and drinkable.
3.4 Draft at the brewery taproom. RBWG 2016. Dark orange coloured pout with a sticky off white head. Aroma is nutty malts, mineral, earthy hop, spicy hop. Flavour is composed of semi sweet toffee, brown sugars, apple. Palate is frothy, semi sweet, sticky. Malty. OK. Maybe a but sweet.
3.8 Pours a slightly hazy copper from a bottle with a quickly dissipating thin white head, a little lacing. Toffee notes in the nose, but not overly sweet as many ambers tend. Actually ends on a nice bitter hop note, takes you on a little journey. Very good beer.
4.1 Almost clear copper pour with a slight chill haze. World class head volume, lacing and retention. Light nice nose of rich malt (biscuit, caramel) with a slight nuttiness, floral notes and very subtle hints of prunes/dates. As it warms, bready notes become evident. Nice light medium body that is quite smooth in texture. Normal carbonation level with a subtle middle effervescence and a stronger finish. The laid back flavor profile is outstanding and quite complex. It begins with rich bready malt that has caramel underneath. The middle delivers the strongest sweetness, which is moderate and well balanced with a very subtle tea like floral bitterness. Tea hop flavor is also present in the middle. After the middle, the flavor takes on a slightly nutty baked bread character that hints at being ever so slightly over baked. As the finish approaches, the dark fruits arrive and assume the forefront - dates initially that flow to prunes. The finish is a slow slightly sweet fade of caramel and prune.
3.8 Very good overall out of a 12 oz bottle It has a good spiced ale taste to it.
3.2 Appearance: Brown Copper Glow. Aroma: Malt, Light Hop, Red Licorice. Taste: Malt, Mild Citrus, Metallic, Nutty.
3.2 Bottle at Len. Deep dark amber, cloudy, fine head. Citrus nose, grass, grapefruit, apple. Light earth and caramel. Balanced malt flavor, ok hops. Not bad, but unexciting.
3.7 12 oz bottle poured. Pours a thick oily copper color with a thin layer of foam head. Rich caramel malt aroma. Flavor matches up front, but has a lingering bready flavor finish. Less sweet than the initial impression. Refreshing beer from sure. Most important note I took from this beer: pairs nicely with a Bengals win.
3.6 Bottle from World Beer Market (Sake no Taniguchi). Toasty malt nose, with light brown sugar, and a hint of chocolate. Reddish-brown color. Rich malty initial, light buttery note. moderate hop jumps in mid palate and final. Medium body. Love the hopping in this one.
