Lagunitas CitruSinensis Pale Ale

Lagunitas CitruSinensis Pale Ale

We took some fresh Sanguinello Blood oranges, juiced ’em, concentrated that juice (without heat) and threw it into a wheatier version of our New Dogtown Pale Ale. The end result? A refreshingly hopped pale-ish ale with a huge citrus burst!

3.2 Bottled 355ml (Viking Grace taxfree) A bit hazy yellow colour, small white head. Citrus/lime aroma. Light-bodied. Pale malty, citrus bite in the finish. Clean, refreshing although simple.
3.8 A 7.7abv pale, gotta love Lagunitas. It isn't clear that it is blood oranges with everything else going on, but it is a near perfect use of sweet n sour of citrus. Overall, it doesn't come together perfectly, but it's tasty and a nice brew.
4.5 Love the orange beer. I hate that our local store only carries
3.9 Looks like beer is expected to be: Clear Golden with a nice white head. Good Orange taste (Juice and peel) but not so much that it overwhelms.. You do not notice the high alcohol until you finish a few. A very nice beer.
3.8 Pours a cloudy golden with a big fluffy white head. Big citrus aroma, some pine as well. Taste is sweet pale malt, orange juice, bread and some hop bitterness. Very good, thirst quenching.
3.7 Keg at the Euston tap. A mostly clear golden orange coloured pour with a a sticky white head. Aroma is semi sweet, orange rind, midget gems, pear drop. Cinnamon. Flavour is composed of semi sweet Base malts, resinous citrus sticky hop, orange rind, light woody orange, well rounded and drinkable.. Palate is semi sweet, sticky, rounded, moderate carbonation. Good.
3.5 Clear gold pour. Hoppy citrus aroma. Flavor is moderately bitter or more but has a good malt balance too. Medium bodied. Fruity. Pretty good brew.
3.7 12 oz. bottle from hayduke that we had together via facebook chat. Some haze in this golden beer and a bigger fluffy white head. Heavy lacing. I smell bright citrus. Flavor is citrus and stone fruit. Quite pleasant and smooth. Pineapple and tropical fruits. An enjoyable beer.
3.8 Shared with Strykzone on Facebook Chat. Pours orange gold with a robust white head. Nose shows lots of citrus. A touch of dankness. Medium body. Flavor is dank and there is fresh citrus and some stone and tropical fruit. Finishes qujte fruity with some peach. Good stuff.
4.0 Bottle poured into a tulip glass on 12/8/18. Crystal clear orange gold color with a small white head. Aroma is a nice blend of blood oranges, assorted citrus, and floral hops. Initial taste is orange juice and orange peel along with floral hops and a bit of wheat. Aftertaste has a hint of malt/wheat sweetness along with orange and a pleasant bitterness. Full and smooth body with lively carbonation. GREAT beer. I hesitate with a lot of the "we took fruit juice and did something with it" beers but Lagunitas did a great job with this.
3.8 Ar: Orange pith and pine, dense; sweet, lightly toasted malt. Ap: Golden and clear; medium-large white head with very good retention, leaving a sudsy, merengue-like cap of suds. T: Pithy orange, a little black tea; medium-low sweetness; red currant, pine, and a little soap; bitterness is medium-high and very clean; finish is pine, lemon, rose, and more orange. P: Medium body with high carbonation; finish is medium-dry. O: Punchy APA; nice citrus and pine accents; very quaffable yet full of flavor.
3.7 Citrus hops with an almost lemon like finish. Slight bitter dank finish with a sweet malt balance. Enjoyable overall.
3.5 Bottled August 31st 2018. Pours a clear but not brilliant gold with a huge head of foam. Excellent lacing. Smells of orange zest, grapefruit, light pine, toasted malt. Taste is orange zest, grapefruit, pineapple, toasted malt, quite the bitter Pale Ale. Nice mouthfeel, nice APA.
3.7 12 oz bottle pours a clear golden color with moderate white head and a little lacing. Aroma is full of citrus and pine, of course. Taste is bitter all the way through, with different flavors emerging now and then with an aftertaste of candied orange slices. Body is medium with average carbonation and a slightly sticky mouthfeel. Alcohol is well hidden: I thought this might be one of Lagunitas' more sessionable pale ales until I read the label (7.5%). Definitely another Lagunitas pale ale, and one I hope to try again.
3.5 A couple bottles, over the course of a long weekend camping in Utah. Pours a clear, pale, orange color, with a big, frothy, off-white head. The aroma is vanilla, orange peel, light cloves, bergamot, and pine tar. Sweet and citrusy, with a pleasant bitterness. Light to medium body, with a crisp, dusty, and lightly acidic feel. Great citrus character, and quite balanced and refreshing.
4.0 on tap at the Hulmeville Inn - clear golden color. Great citrus aroma and flavor.
3.9 12oz bottle ordered at Lucky 13 in Salt Lake City. Strange beer laws continue. RMBT crew enjoying themselves but perplexed by the antiquated approach to beer consumption in this city. Nose is bright and citrusy. Very enticing. Color is standard orange and golden but a really nice lacing and head. Taste is heavy citrus but not overly bitter....more like a citrus hard candy than a citrus rind. Very refreshing. Mouthfeel very well executed. Served beyond the season it's meant for but still holds up.
3.9 Hazy golden color with a white head. Citrus pine hops aroma. Strong citrus orange juicy fruit. Medium body.
3.6 Nice aroma of sweet oranges some faint hints of mango. Cloudy orange body the cap is thin but is leaving some ok lacing. Flavor starts with some grapefruit bitterness turning to a mid malty taste. Overall a decent pale.
3.2 On tap at World of Beer (Charlottesville, VA). Heavy aromas of orange, orange rind, grapefruit. Mostly clear light orange with a fairly lasting white head. Dry, bitter, lightly sweet. Medium bodied.
3.8 Pours a slightly murky off yellow with a creamy white head and good retention. Aromas strong pine, citrus, mild oranges, floral slight herbal. Flavors slight bubblegum, slight orange, pine, citrus, slight grass. Medium sweet and bitter with a slight dry finish. The orange does give is a pleasant complexity unlike many pales and ipas!
3.8 355ml bottle bought at Q Club in SoHo, Central. Looks: Clear golden orangeOne finger head with crumpety white foam which lasts for 1 minute; Very good sticky lacing with active slight carbonation. Aroma: Very fragrant Ale malt, with tartness, strong blood orange, grapefruits, citrus, floral, sugar, spices, strong pine, bread, lemon and grass. <>p>Taste: Medium sweet fair Ale malt, with moderate wheaty tartness, strong blood orange, strong citrus, grapefruit juice, floral, fructose, spices, strong pine, strong resins, biscuits, lemon, close to strong bitter hops and grass. Body: Medium body. Slick and very oozy palate. Mouth Feel: Fair Ale maltyness in a slick background. Notable dry wheaty presence but blanketed by full bliss of blood orange and juicy grapefruits, with a flair of citrus soda. Flowery with strong fructose. Spicy, very piney oozy with lemon to round. Excellent! Hoppiness: Grapefruits, citrus, floral, spices, strong pine, lemon and grass in nose. Strong citrus, floral, spices, strong pine, strong resins, lemon and grass in taste; Bitterness is strong for a lasting, high astringent sweet- bitter fair Ale malty finish. After Taste/i>: Quite Dry. Citrus juicy piney and strong bitter to mouth. Comments: After Born Again Yesterday, this is another ultra-juicy fruity IPA from Lagunitas, only this time it is infused with blood orange to achieve the citrus soda-like palate without compromising the strong piney oozy hops. Bubbly, lively, strong and refreshing, I will buy again!
3.4 What can I say about this? Delicious, clean, balanced, unremarkable. Light. Would get it again.
3.5 Keg at Lagunitas Beer Circus, Flat Iron Square. Super grapefruity. Like Elvia Juice.
3.9 At first sip, it tasted like a glass of orange juice. Strong flavor seemed to subside as I drank the beer.
2.9 Fairly hazy golden and peach coloured body with a nice two centimetre tall pure white head. Aroma of citrus (duh), tangerines, light grain and malts with a dose of cleanser and pine on the finish with a touch of grass and funkier malt noticeable at the very end. Medium-bodied; Quite assertive citrus and especially a pure orange flavour with a lot of tangerine and even some blood orange/quite bitter notes that show some light sweetness from the fruit, but more of a bitterness and deep quality that hit throughout. Aftertaste shows a relatively good balance of malt and hops with a decidely deep bitterness with the citrus at first, but more of a robust dry and piney flavour that hits at the very end. Overall, a fairly nice and structured APA with the citrus flavours coming out, but enough of a slow burn and moderate complexity to make this beer hit more like a normal APA or a blonde ale even. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Shopper's in Alexandria, Virginia on 21-June-2018 for US$1,67 sampled at home in Washington on 02-August-2018.
1.9 Pours a hazy light yellow-gold color with a white head and great retention. Good lacing. Strong bitter hops aroma. As expected, strong hops flavor too with a faint citrus finish bordering on sour/tart. Hop heads will love it; Not me. 7.5 ABV is well hidden. This is an APA, not a fruit beer. Barely any blood orange flavor.
3.5 Bottle. 7.5% Best before 30.03.19. Pours a bit hazy straw yellow, with an off-white/yellowish head. Decent lacing. Fat and citrus hop aroma. Remote sugary and zesty hints. Flavour is citrusy hops, a wee bit zesty, fat and piney. Rather bitter hop finish. Lingering light grassy, slightly rubbery note, and a hint of alcohol. Overall good. Not particularly complex; I can’t even seem to pick out the blood orange used, but otherwise wellmade and -balanced with a nice hop profile. 02.08.18.
3.5 Fantastic blood orange taste with slight hints of caramel, bread pudding, and love! Very refreshing and great when quite cold!
3.7 Taste: refreshing, blood oranges, citrus hop, clean finish. Fresh grass, citrus hop nose. Golden/amber hue, mostly clear, white foam head with some lace. Medium to med/light body.
