3.9Wow. This much more IPA than strong ale, which is fine by me. It’s much more hop-forward than I expected, with more tropical fruit vs. the more spiced fruit malt I expected under the "strong ale" name. But the description on the label is not wrong. It is a piney, eucalyptusy, cedary, sprucey, foresty blast. I’ll be buying this again. 22 oz bomber.
2.6Bottle sample at a tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. Thanks beerandbeyond. Golden. Aroma of stale hops, malt, marmalade. Sweet flavor with malt, honey, stale hops, marmalade. Medium-bodied. Too old.
3.0At the Beer and Beyond shop, Pours orange with a small head, aroma of fruits, orange, marmalade, flavor is slightly bitter with orange, marmalade, medium bodied
3.8Bottle@William K. Deep golden color, white head. Pleasant, hoppy aroma. Aromatic hop flavor, toffee. Creamy mouthfeel. Full body, medium carbonation. Very nice!
2.8(From July 2016)Yellow, foamy head and lacing. Sweet, syrupy, breakfast bread.
Plastic cup ala Regal Hotel, Mannheim Road, Chicago.
Paired well with leftover leg of lamb, rice and potatoes (Thank you Greek Islands, Chgo)
$4.99/22oz bomber, Binny’s, Elmwood Park, IL
4.5Aroma is resin hops malt with green and a little citrus. Flavor is somewhat like nose with interesting interplay between bitter and sweet as they go back and forth for being dominant and carbonation to mix it up further. Great body. Very nice beer.
3.7Crisp amber with an off white head. Nose is fresh hops, fruits, light malt, resinous, and lightly bitter. Great palate, chewy hops , nice malt notes, sticky florals and a nice finish.

Rating #2117 - 2015.10.08 - Bottle - Pours a clear golden, white head. Aromas of lemon, pine, orange peel. Taste is decent citrus sweetness, more spruce notes, creamier texture, assertive bitterness. Lovely.
3.6Pours a medium amber with a creamy thick head. Aromas a nice balance of pine and citrus mingled with caramel. Slightly resin like. Flavors pine, citrus, apricot and caramel backbone. Medium sweet to balance the lightly bitter. I like the aromas the best overall.
3.9Sampled on draft at Johnny’s Wife’s Place in Jeannette this beer poured a copper color with a large foamy white head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was sweet, tart and tangy with fruity and piney hops. The flavor was sweet and sugary with fruity and piney hops, tropical fruit and a yeasty undertone. Long sweet fruity hop finish. Moderately full bodied. Excellent
3.4Pours clear, bubbly amber with a thick and fairly persistent porcelain head. Aroma features fresh malt, evergreen, pomme fruit and citrus notes. Lively flavor offers fresh malt, evergreen, cloves, orange and apple - and is that oat? Mouthfeel features decent body and fizz, and a woody finish. Equal day and night, nicely balanced beer.
3.7Dank hop aroma with a nice malt backing. Taste is a dank earthy hoppy with a smooth slightly sweet malt finish. Predominantly a dank earthy hop malty beer but is well balanced and smooth and easy drinking. Like it overall but not my favorite hop profile.
3.6$5.79 bomber from Wine Warehouse. Pours golden/light orange with a large off-white head. Heavy orange peel aroma. Flavor is lively orange, buried caramel, light pine. This is tasty. Tang-like finish.
3.7Bottle. Clear rose gold with a large white head. Aroma of pine needles, menthol, sap, bread, grapefruit. Nice- certainly very piney but somehow not aggressively so. Slightly moreso in the taste though, although the pale malt and (I guess) the oats) are firm enough to hold up well enough without making the beer heavy at all. Briefly quite bitter with a woodsy punch at the end. Alcohol is not obvious. Good.
3.8Split from a bomber into a wheat glass. Brown gold, hazy, nice carbonation. Nose is malty, a little foresty. Super smooth and a little crisp on the end. Taste is a little fruity, a little malty. Refreshing.
3.5Orange color. Aromas of bread, caramel, pine. Sweet caramel taste, bread, bitter hops, fruits and alcohol. Slight bitter alcoholic finish.
4.8Very tasty and balanced. Long lasting flavours of grass, leaves, dough. Alcohol not noticeable.
3.4This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a head of foamy finely sized tan colored bubbles that were long lasting and left behind a typically carbonated transparent orange colored body and a thick foamy lacing. The weak aroma was musty and malt hop. The crisp and clean mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish with a lingering hoppy aftertaste. The nice flavor contained notes of mildly bitter and hops. A decent one that I would consider drinking again.
3.2Sample at Omaha Beer Fest, Stinson Park. 6-11-16. Bottle, poured golden/orange, white head. Aroma was pine and citrus. Taste was citrus, pine, bitter finish.
3.4Bomber via Beer world. Yup, a smooth grainy body....corny/oatish. with a pleasant hop surrounding. Bright finish.
4.1Bottle from Bradleys. Clear amber with little head. Citrus and tropical fruit hops, nicely accentuated by the oat. Hides the booze well.
3.2Old copy I think. Nose is citrus and brandy. Taste is Carmel candy hop. Had chunky stuff in the bottom. Actually nice flavor. But really an old beer.
3.8Pours a medium orange with moderate head and lacing. Smell is boreal forest, oatcakes. Taste is bitter, mildly sweet - trees - pine, spruce, cedar - like licking the heart of a forest.
3.8Crisp amber with an off white head. Nose is fresh hops, fruits, light malt, resinous, and lightly bitter. Great palate, chewy hops , nice malt notes, sticky florals and a nice finish.
3.622 fl oz bottle. Dark golden in the glass. Very fruity on the nose. Taste starts fruity, resin malt and naturally hop. All in a smooth balance. A really nice one.
4.5Changing times and changing seasons. Not everything changes. Lagunitas Equinox was first crafted in 1995. It’s still a great beer from a great brewery. Combining the creaminess of oatmeal with crispness of hops is a lovely idea. Equinox’s nose is citrusy, spicy, floral, woodsy, and grainy. The flavor showcases orange, grapefruit, pineapple, berry, honey, spruce, cedar, eucalyptus, pine, and juniper. Bright, dry, and full-bodied mouthfeel. Moderate bitterness. The balance is evocative of the balance between light and dark this beer is alluding to -- bitter and sweet are nearly equivocal sides. This ale has aged extremely well. Again, not much has really changed. Lagunitas brews are still great, and their beer deScriptions still perplex me.
4.1Orange/ gold pour, frothy white head. Nose is oily cedar. Bitter. Middle is orange marmalade,, medium kilned malt, pine sap. Finish shows some alcohol and a subtle caramel flavor. Worth trying.
4.2Bomber from Costco Bakersfield. Nose is big pine resin with spruce thrown in along with some mango and papaya. Really hoppy. Clear orange with a medium lightly lacing offcream colored head. Flavor is lightly bitter with lots of tropical fruitiness. Really good stuff.
3.6I can’t believe I haven’t rated this. I’ve had it many times thinking I had already. It pours a clear orange gold color, rather in the rich/dark side with an off white head. The aroma is fruity with melon and peach. Other hints of grapefruit, juicy fruit gum and cedar. A little on the weak side for a fresh bottle. The flavor is nice with more rich fruity peach, grapefruit, juicy fruit and a little bit of cedar, pine and resin. The bitterness is pretty mild and the body is very thick and oily. Mostly hop forward without much maltiness except for a decent amount of honey. Pretty good, as usual, but not as good as some of their other hoppy offerings.
