Lagunitas Maximus IPA

Lagunitas Maximus IPA

At the height of the heat in the heart of the summer, we felt that the only cure was a raging mouthful of fresh hops and malt. Caution: May remove enamel from teeth. This is Lagunitas IPA pumped up by about 30%!

4.0 My first impression is that this tastes much drier than the label's 72 IBU would suggest. The hops are right up front and fresh without feeling overly stringent, balanced by a nice, straightforward malt character. Medium mouthful, moderately fine carbonation, and a hint of bourbon in the finish. Delicious.
4.0 Tap a tap Richtar Jakub. Amber color with off-white head. Aroma of caramel, citrus hops. Taste, caramelly malty base followed by nice hoppy bitterness. Long hoppy bitter finish. Nice.
4.0 V richtarovi. Vona krasna medova chmelova. Medova farba husta pena. Chut silna alkoholova horkasta medova. Na konci dlho ostava.
3.9 35,5cl bottle from Géant Casino hypermarket in Bazeilles in France. F: medium, tan, good retention. C: orange gold, light hazy. A: orange, pine, mellow tropical fruits, bit caramel, tomato, apricot, grapefruits, dried fruits, bit onion effect. T: full malty base, mellow orange, pine resin, peach, nice hoppy feeling, spicy, dry on the palate, medium carbonation, very nice for the style, fully enjoyed.
4.5 Bitter, strong yet very balanced, if that makes sense at all. It’s quite rare to come accross these in my place but they are worth looking for. Definitely one of my favorite IPAs.
3.8 12-ounce bottle pours pale gold with a 1.5" beige head and lacing. Aroma: faint brown sugar. Flavor: brown sugar, caramel, honey, longanberry, rambutan, grapefruit, orange, bread, biscuit. Mouthfeel: medium- to full-bodied with a creamy yet slick finish.
3.6 Bottle. Big foamy head on a classic copper ipa. Badass grapefruit, citrus pine, biscuit aroma. Much more sappy, honey, malt forward ipa than bitter. Alright but nothing crazy.
3.4 God Ipa med skön efterbeska, fräsch smak
3.3 Smell of hops, spruce. Clear amber colour, high off-white head. Aroma of hops, spruce, a faint of honey. Regular IIPA with pure flavours. Bitter. Medium carbon, slightly oily texture.
3.5 On tap at Nobell. Okay IIPA but nothing really that would bring me down to my knees.
3.5 Bottle from craft Mecca, Morrisons of Aldershot. Earthy resin aroma Golden amber. Thin translucent white head. Medium-heavy bitter. Resinous and malty. Old school. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Average-fizzy carbonation. Long astringent finish. May well have faded due to having been on a supermarket shelf and then in a locker at work for a few months - no fruit juice here, all hop juice. But not too boozy.
3.7 Restrained aroma in a golden amber pour. Hop forward balance with a boozy fruit body and light bitter finish. Dangerously delicious.
3.6 Bottle. Medena farba, biela pena. Vona sladova, kramel, med, ovocie. Chut sladova, karamel, ovocie, alkohol. Plne telo, horka dochut.
3.3 Bursztynowe klarowne piwo z niezłą pianą. Aromat chmielu i słodu. W smaku lekko wytrawne, mało chmielu, niestety daje o sobie znać znaczne utlenienie.
3.8 Clear golden appearance with thin head. Aroma and flavour have sweet caramel malts and ripe yellow fruits like honeydew melon. A good old DIPA.
3.7 Bottle. Pours rusty amber with an off white head. Aroma is malty cereal and caramel, orange peel, and pine, maybe some stone fruit. Sweet, verging on syrupy in the mouth, yet still fairly refreshing. Taste is caramel, dark cereal, hint of licorice, orange peel, marmalade and apricot. Actually not too bad, don’t normally dig this style of beer unless it’s under 7.5%
3.6 [12oz bottle from Total Wines, Brea, CA.] An amber pour with a thin white head; innocent toffee aroma; immediate hit of hops in teh mouth though, quite fresh and leafy with some tea and a sweet caramel malt body; then a lingering peppery bitter finish. Not as extreme as the marketing would have you believe.
2.0 bottle at home which bought from a UK supermarket. The beer was dark in colour. It was a malty beer might just been me not liking it
3.9 09.09.2019. 0,355 Bottle. Systembolaget Strömstad, Oslovägen 56. Golden colour with white head. Strong beer with lots of aromas an flavours. Sharp fresh hops with lemon, tropical fruits and a soft pine touch. Pineapple as well. Flavours are the same. Soft bitter aftertaste. Good one!
3.0 Achetée à Casino supermarché (Villedieu-les-Poêles) Nez de fruits tropicaux et de pin. Robe orange et trouble. Fine mousse. En bouche se dessinent des saveurs de pamplemousse et de pin.
3.7 Amber colour, creamy head. Aroma: hops, orange peel, grape, toffee, brown sugar, caramel. Taste: hops, caramel, orange peel, bitter hops, pine, resin. Heavy bitterness with orange peel and burnt sugar. Creamy mouthfeel. 7-3-8-3-16
3.7 Bottle. Pours a clear amber colour with a medium white head. Aroma of pine, resin, slight toasted malts, some orange, grapefruit and subtle spicy, perfumey hops. Taste of orange, pine, resin, some grapefruit, slight toasted malts and subtle caramel. Medium to full bodied and an oily texture. A dryish, citrus and resinous hop bitterness in the finish. A classic American IPA pumped up with bitter resinous and citrusy hops. some booze but isn’t too noticeable. Good.
3.1 Bottle from Morrisons. A combination of boozy-ness and orangey-ness. Maybe too much of the former. Overall, it’s a bit fierce. On the plus side, it gives you a warm glow!
3.5 Bottle, from Morrisons. Orange gold, fluffy and moderately sustaining white head and good condition. Pleasant but restrained orange citrus hop notes and sweet honeyed malt in the nose, a little muted in the mouth with a toned down citrus note and a hint of peppery spiciness, some sweet yeastiness and a tingle of hop bitterness. Finish is sticky and malty with a low undercurrent of citrus and a moderately persisting hop bitterness.
5.0 Perfect!!!
3.8 Bottle. Dark gold with a medium sized head. Aroma is citrusy grapefruit. Taste is malty sweet upfront with a hoppy bitter finish.
3.6 Butelka. Miedziany kolor, biała piana o drobnych pęcherzach, średniej wysokości,opada dość szybko. W aromacie słodkie owoce pestkowe, karmel, brzoskwiniowa ice tea. W smaku pełne o małym wysyceniu i dobrze ukrytym alkoholu.
Belle IPA.
3.4 August 24th, 2015 - An Unlimited Release! Get it now! Or, later. A leather brown ale, it has a soapy scent, but good and fresh. And I also smell unripened grapefruit, bitter and not at all sweet. The flavor is also quite butter, with a fresh, hop forward dimension, and blossoming a little in the middle. On the finish I get some esters, appearing as papaya and lychee and other tropical fruits, but it is a brief glimmer before the bitterness resumes.
