3.9 Yeah! Oldfashioned increadibly smooth dipa in the tradition of the better west coast ipas
4.9 Golden pour with a thick fluffy head. Smells absolutely delicious; hops, butterscotch and candy. Taste is wow; semisweet caramel with plenty of piney bitterness. Medium body with adequate carbination with a dry but sticky hop finish. This beer is money as far as I'm concerned. One of the best DIPA's I've tasted.
2.1 Purchased a 24 oz bottle from my local Stater Brothers. Thick white head on top of a clear Amber body. It smells of citrus and Woodland hops. It's not too hoppy and it doesn't have that IPA aftertaste that I hate. It has a dry finish because of the Hops. As much as I like the style I do not like the taste of this beer. I don't know what it is a combination of the malts and hops but I'm not feeling this
3.7 I poured it from the bottle into a tulip glass. It pours orange with a white head and lacing. There is visible bubbles. The aroma is pine hops, orange, and caramel. The taste is obviously big on hops. There's orange and grapefruit as well. There's a lot of flavor. It drinks easier than the alcohol content present. This was another solid offering from Lagunitas.
3.5 Had this beer in a six-pack in San Jose. The first bottle, I did found the hop taste over-the-top. The next bottles were really cold (almost frozen) and did taste super. Thick orange ale with a frothy head and scold beer, full of taste. Beware, there is still 8 percent of alcohol!
3.4 Draft 0.3l at Lagunitas TapKabinet, Amsterdam, The Netherlands. 05.01.2019. Pour it clear dark golden color with small white head. Aroma caramel, old hop note Taste caramel, old orange zest flavor, OK brew, really interested where is this brewed.
3.5 7 3 7 3 15 Draft at Lagunitas TapKabinet, Amsterdam. Clear golden with a white head. Aroma of orange, caramel malt, citrus and light grassy notes. Flavour is moderate sweet and light moderate bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.
4.3 IBU-Hardliner der guten alten OldSchoolDIPA-School💚 ....Walmart Bomber Stuff...gaul ;)
3.8 Clear deep golden color with off-white head. Aroma has deep hop resin notes with orange rind and biscuity malts. Taste has the classic west coast style resiny hop notes, candied orange and lemon rind, slightly caramelized malt and lingering hop bitterness on the finish. Medium plus body with medium carbonation. Well made and old school tasting DIPA.
3.3 Twelve ounce can. The aroma is the thing here, one of the strongest aromas I have come across in a few years! It cleans out your nose quick. The hops really hoppin. I think a bit too strong as if overrides the taste even. Just short of being a novelty beer.
3.9 Amber color, medium sized beige head. Light bitter aromas of alcohol, caramel, resin, citrus, grain, yeast and slight apricot. Light bitter taste with alcohol, resin, grapefruit, malt and apricot.
3.9 Golden with a white head - Good fruity hop aroma - Malt body with a good fruity hop flavour that has a good bitterness - The malt and fruity hops that gives bitterness goes into the finish - This was good and tasty
1.0 (je dois être stupide : nez basic, bouche arf, optimisation/ratio hop/malt/coût, pour masse bêlante, 0-gourmet, s’aplatit)
3.8 355ml bottle [as 'Hop Stoopid Ale']. Barely clear, orangey dark golden to amber colour with small to average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Floral, grassy and resinous, slightly citrusy, hoppy aroma, caramel malty basis. Taste is sweet-ish, caramel malty and floral hoppy, slightly grassy and citrusy with accumulating hop bitterness, a touch of peppermint and toffee; lingering citrusy and floral hoppy finish. Oily texture, smooth, soft and silky palate, gentle carbonation. Very harmonious, superbly balanced, well integrated hop bitterness with accumulating effect though.
3.5 Strong hop aroma that is apparent from the moment the bottle was opened. Pours a clear amber with a head that soon fizzles out. Tastes like an IPA, specifically like one of Sierra Nevada’s heavier IPAs. Elements of pine and citrus are on the back of the tongue. Absolutely wild amount of hops dominate every part of this beer. Far more drinkable than I had anticipated. Easily the hoppiest beer I have ever had.
4.0 Big bottle bought froma grocery somewhere in central Manhattan. Pours hazy amber with white head. Sweetness and citrus first, then malt, pine and resinous notes. Smooth long bitter finish. The swee citrus and pine aroma is what makes this beer. Great one!
4.6 From a 22oz bottle. Pours deep golden with a nice lace on the glass. Hoppy with strong Citrus. Good feel and taste.
4.1 For the hop punch it delivers it is pretty smooth and refreshing. Uses hop concentrate instead of actual hops.
4.3 22oz bottle bought at Key Food. Citrusy, piney, with a finish to grapefruit. Golden yellow, great aroma, and slightly smooth
3.8 Bottle and had many times before yet never did a review. Maybe a top ten all time favorites crisp clean with loads of hops. Love it
3.1 355ml bottle as 'Lagunitas Hop Stoopid' bought at Q Club in SoHo, Central. Looks: Clear amber orange colour with a cloud of dirty yeast particles; Half finger head with soapy off-white foam which fades in 40 seconds; Very good sticky lacing with active carbonation. Aroma: Fragrant full Ale malt, with strong amberness, pineapples, roast almond, caramel, floral, sugar, spices, strong pine, bread, lemon and grass. Taste: Close to strong sweet Ale malt, with strong amberness, wheaty tartness, grapefruits, red fruits, floral, molasses, spices, strong pine, strong resins, biscuits, lemon, strong bitter hops and grass. Body: Medium body. Thin, slick and oozy palate. Mouth Feel: Good Amber maltyness in a seriously wheat-thinned background, malty but really watery. Strong grapefruits and red fruits, flowery with fairly strong sweetness. Very piney and resiny but the ooze is more restrained than most IIPAs. Biscuity with strong lemon to round. Tasty but... Hoppiness: Pineapples, floral, spices, strong pine, lemon and grass in nose. Grapefruits, floral, spices, strong pine, strong resins, lemon, and grass in taste; Bitterness is strong for a lasting, very high astringent sweet-bitter amber malty finish. After Taste: Fairly dry. Piney oozy and strong bitter to mouth. Comments: This one is strong, no doubt about it, but the hop aroma is non-descript, and its taste and palate was hindered by strong wheat thinning to such extent I thought I was drinking a wheaty IPA. I like my IIPA to have a solid body and this is just wimpy. Decent but not great.
4.0 Wow....hops, hops, and more hops. I as well noticed some strange smell on top of the hops in the aroma. I was gonna say it had a partially diesel-like smell to it, but now that I read the last post, it did seem more like butane. Couldn't pinpoint what it was. Either way, it was very minor and hops is the main theme going on here. Also some smells of grapefruit, pine (a little resiny), etc. Appearance was a yellowish-gold color. Good carbination and medium white head. A little on the hoppier side for my preference, but that was expected from the name and reviews I read. I enjoy a good hop bomb every now and then, and this was definitely one of them. Reminded me a little of their 2009 Correction Ale in flavor, but with a LOT more hops added. Maybe similar to Great Divides Hercules DIPA? At only 8%, this beer wasn't quite like a double IPA to me, but more like a strong regular IPA.
2.8 12 oz. bottle. Poured cloudy golden with a white head. Aroma of raw hops, green, grapefruit, citrus rind. Taste was medium bitter, fruit rind, grapefruit, pine, hops.
4.0 Clear, and chock full of hops. Almost overpowering, but still delicious. Only failing is the head, which is a bit weak as it pours. But to be fair it is called an ale.
2.6 Served from bomber. Pours a clear gold with a finger of long lasting foam, good lacing. Smells of grapefruit, caramel malt, hey there's a strong sweetness going on here. Like in old stuff. Can't make heads or tails out of the BB date on the bottle...
3.8 Tap at Bishops Arms Östersund. A beer of epic proportions. Fresh tasting, fruity hops. Moorish bitterness. Alcohol week hidden. Close to perfection. Retried. This time it came across as much much more bitter and much more butch. 4.2 to 3.8
4.0 Earlier Rating: 1/26/2018 Total Score: 2.5
3.3 Bottle from bradleys cork. Pours clear gold with white head. Citrus, pine aroma with a little orange. Pine flavour, pineapple, orange, biscuit, quite bitter.
3.5 Smells piney and tastes bready with a bit of citrus and pine. Balanced bitterness. Good, but not mindblowing.
4.6 12/26/17 Had with Abby and Sarah saying hi to the dogs at Main Street. Poured from bottle. Pours a light orange with moderate white head. Smell is big grapefruit and piney hops. Taste is a delicious, bitter hop bomb, but backed up by a lot of sweet bready malt keeping it balanced. So good. Medium mouthfeel and goes down smooth for 8%. Hops and carbonation are very prickly on the palate. Overall, this is a wonderful, surprisingly bready hop bomb that I will definitely buy again.
