3.6 Bottle. Black and tan. Pleasant herbal aroma with licorice. Smooth flavor with oak, licorice and cough syrup. Full body, medium carbonation. Nice.
3.9 A bottle from Alko, Lahti. The color is black with brown head. Aroma is roasty, vanilla, toffee. Taste has coffee and dark chocolate notes. Medium sweet. Well balanced. Very nice stout. I will definitely try this one again.
3.7 Positiivinen yllätys. Tuhti, reipas tiukka maku. Hyvin paahtunut, eli siinä kitkerän rajalla. (3,6) Uusinta kierros: Jännää hedelmäisyyttä havaittavissa, kitkeryys ja paahtoaste toimii. Liköörimainen jopa. (3,7)
3.6 Oh wow.. what’s the funky taste. I can’t get a hold of it. Feels like lactose, but it’s not. Coffee definitely, but not only that. Melted and burnt chocolate. Nicely full bodied and reasonably toasted (roasted). I also get some hoppiness. At first the booze was tickling a bit and later the hop bitterness takes over. Well good, that’s what I wanted.
3.5 Bottle share at Canary Wharf. I’ve written down ’Laitila Kievari Olutta’ 9.2%. Many thanks to Leighton for this one. Black with a small foamy brown head, dotted lacing. Aroma is treacle up front, chocolate syrup, floral. Body is smooth, soft carbonation. Taste is coffee, salty, molasses, floral, earthy, dark malts. Decent. (3.5)
3.4 Bottle. Pours a black color with a small tan head. Has a roasted malty licorice, caramel and chocolate aroma. Roasted malty chocolate and licorice flavor. Has a roasted malty chocolate and licorice finish.
4.1 A nice imperial stout that borders right on the edge of being too sweet but doesn’t go over. Very thick with a full roasted malt body. Good stuff.
3.5 17th April 2016 Opaque dark brown beer, big fluffy tan head. Airy palate, mildly dry. Reasonable fine carbonation. Smooth dark malts, a little dark chocolate. Light tang. Touches of dark fruits and coffee. Malty dark chocolate finish, like dark chocolate malteasers. A light and approachable RIS.
3.6 Bottle shared on Level 42 9/3/16. Many thanks to Leighton for this one. Viscous opaque black coloured pour with a dark tan head. Aroma is dark choc malts, some plum jammy fruits, harsh alcohol. Flavour is composed of tangy bitter dark choc, plummy Figgy passing, bitter dark choc. Palate is medium full bodies, grainy, solvent, moderate carbonation. Velvety. Lingering hot alcohol, little headache inducing. Rich dark choc.
3.5 330ml bottle shared at the Mar-16 Level 42 CW tasting, London. Many thanks to Leighton for this one. It pours a dark brown color with small beige head. Aroma is sweet and herbal, with molasses, some cardboard and herbs. Taste is sweet molasses upfront then more bitter herbal liqueur and burnt wood. Old cardboard and molasses. Light to medium bodied with light to ok carbonation. Overall, ok

The taste is rich, malt loaf, salty, umami, roasted malts, coffee grounds, sticky, herbal, light spice and charred wood with dry, roasted finish. Full body and moderate, foamy carbonation. Not bad.
3.7 Bottle shared in London - picked up in a trade. Pours black-brown with a frothy, tan head. Hearty burnt toast in the nose, sugary chocolate, earth, cocoa. Medium sweet flavor with notes of licorice, ashy roast, bittersweet cocoa, scorched earth, raisins, old leather. Medium to full bodied with average carbonation. Lightly warming finish, with lots more bitter dark chocolate, more earth, dried dark fruits, raisins, some woody dryness. Good stuff.

Nose is earthy roast, chocolate, toffee, molasses, light soy sauce. Taste comprises cocoa powder, treacle toffee, light mineral, charr, fruit cake. 3.9 Thanks to Jan (rosenbergh) for this one hand-carried to Hawaii from Finland! Motor oil brown and thick with a brown head. Smokey, black licorice, cocoa. Rich chewy malts, treacle, earthy (peat?) Sweet but balanced with light bittering hops and hints of smoke, quite tasty! A thick, rich & strong beer. I do like this one but then again, I love Impy Stouts!
3.6 Bottle from Alko, Helsinki. Black body with brown coffee-colored top. Aroma of espresso and salty licorice. Taste follows the aroma quite nicely, adding roasted malts and slight smoke. Palate is quite full with a somewhat oily texture. Mouthfeel is rich and balanced (as you would expect from a Finnish Imperial Stout). Overall it’s a good beer (Imperial Stouts rarely let you down), though there are plenty of better Imperial Stouts.
4.6 Huge brown head. Deep black brown. Spicy aroma. Strong, roasted malts, bitter, rich, balanced. -- rated with beerbasher/winphone
3.9 330 ml bottle shared by Kavu, thanks! Almost black body, with a quite small, dense, coffee-colored head. Aroma of espresso, bitter chocolate, liquorice, dried fruits, some smoke. Taste follows this, with a pleasantly dry roastiness. Medium, oily mouthfeel, with a moderate carbonation. Finishes roasty, dry, with espresso, bitter chocolate, liquorice, slight smoke. Very nice. Straight and pleasantly dry, with really enjoyable espresso notes. Also some well integrated smoke notes, that give it more depth. Not among the best Imperial Stouts I’ve had, but a tasty style example I would gladly drink again.
3.9 Dark reddish brown, almost black colour with a little dark tan-coffee colour head. Looks really inviting. Aroma: alcoholic, liquorice, raisins, a little bit rotten fruit-banana notes, spices, roasted. Taste: really strong bitter coffee beans, bitter dark cacao, weird but somehow along with others, I smell and taste rotten fruits-banana from this beer almost like a weed beer. Has bitter coffee aftertaste. Goes really good with chocolate dessert.
