Lakefront Eastside Dark

Lakefront Eastside Dark

Honoring the eclectic East Side of the city, this Bavarian dark lager is a blend of three specialty grains, creating a rich, smooth, dark beer that anyone can enjoy. Pours a clear, dark color with an off-white head. Hints of roasted malts find their way into the aroma, and form a pleasant background to the dark, rich flavor. The German lager yeast rounds out this brew with a smooth, complex finish. Winner of the 2014 and 2016 European Beer Star Gold Medal for Bohemian-Style Schwarzbier.

The taste is sweet with caramel, coffee, and bread hints. It was a little thin. This was okay. There wasn't anything wrong with it. It didn't stand out either though.

3.9 Medium brown with a tan head. Fairly transparent. Great aroma of nuts, dried fruit, and toasted malt. Similar flavors on the palate. Great balance. Lengthy malty finish.
3.1 5 percent ? Really tastes like a bit more .. maybe residual gravity. Aromas of coffe, seltzer water and chocolate. Low body with mineral aftertaste.
3.5 12oz bottle poured into a shaker. The aroma is toasted bread and yeast with a light roasted coffee note and some cola late. It pours a dark, clear oily caramel color topped by an off white, beige foam head and it retains a medium ring with a light wisp surface and no lace. The taste is a medium sweet and bitter blend. The medium light body has a fuzzy carbonation and an oily texture. Figgy and roasty coffee flavors come through with a light toffee flavor late. It’s clean and crisp with a mineral water finish and has a nutty and roasted aftertaste.
3.2 Pours clear mahogany. Off white fizzy head. Slight roasted malt aroma. Flavor is medium dark roasted malt. Starts slightly sweet but has a drier finish. Palate is medium light; the effervescence is again s feature - it effects the overall palate. Overall, a nice dark session beer, light on hops. Lager.
