Lakefront Pumpkin Lager

Lakefront Pumpkin Lager

Lakefront Brewery’s Pumpkin Lager is one-of-the only pumpkin lagers available in the world. Our brewers use real pumpkin and a proprietary blend of spices made here in Milwaukee by the acclaimed Spice House. Lagered for four full weeks, Pumpkin Lager develops a deep, smooth richness that no ale can match. A frothy entry leads to an off-dry, medium-to-full body of intense cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom, and candied yam flavor on a nutty, whole-grain toast palate. Finishes with a drier spice and light toffee fade. Caramel and Munich malts reinforce this beer’s mouthfeel and lend to the malty sweetness. A nicely balanced spice beer for those cool fall nights.

3.3 Pumpkin, spices, cloves, caramel malts. Clear, gold, creamy, white head. Light sweet. More pumpkin, molasses, lively carbonation, dark grain malts. Nice Pumpkin Lager, not too intense but still quite flavourful. Keg at brewery, Milwaukee.
1.7 Bottle shared @ ChrisO after GBBF Day 2. Clear orange golden color, small off-white head. Smell and taste lightly malts, loads of pumpkin and cinnamon, (Dutch) "peperkoek" lichtjes, maar vooral die fucking cinnamon irriteert mateloos. Gadverdamme zeg! Bleh!
3.0 12 fl.oz bottle. Pours clear dark golden colour with a small white head. aroma of pumpkins, spices, cinnamon. Taste of sweet pumpkins, cinnamon, too sweet.
3.5 12 oz. bottle, thanks to Jason. Pours orangish brown, with a small, beige ring. Strong biscuit dough and pumpkin spice, with some good actual pumpkin aromas. Sweet and malty, light savory spice, but no bitterness to speak of. Light to medium body, creamy, smooth, and easy. This is a simple and straightforward pumpkin beer, but solid, well made, and delicious.
2.8 Poured into a pint glass. 3.0 A: Murky peach color. Two fingers of frothy off-white head. Retention is below average and no lacing is left. 3.25 S: Mild pumpkin spices with nutmeg and allspice most prominent. Light caramel and toastiness. Not really anything else going on. It’s pretty tame, but it’s not bad. 3.25 T: Tastes like the nose. Mild spices with notes of caramel and toastiness. Not a lot of flavor, but enough to make it a decent enough brew. 3.0 M: Lighter body. Good moderate carbonation. A touch watery and lacking creaminess. 3.0 D: Tame but decent. ★ 584 characters DavoleBomb, Nov 29, 2015
2.4 Somewhat watery barely tasted the pumpkin. Soft thin white head quickly dissipated. Nothing special here
3.2 Bottle. Poured a light brownish orange color. Head dissipated. Aroma is pumpkin, nutmeg, spice. Light body. Nice pumpkin and spice through out. Low carbonation. Not bad.
3.6 Bottle left at my house. Pours a clear orange color. White head. Aromas of pumpkin spices. Underlying beer is clean and crisp. A fairly enjoyable pumpkin beer.
4.1 I didn't take any extra notes when I tried this beer for the first time but I'm gonna try it again and update my comments.
2.6 DATE TASTED: November 4, 2015 ... GLASSWARE: Schneider Edel-Weisse pokal... OCCASION: enjoying the prelude to Teachers’ Convention weekend... APPEARANCE: bright orange-amber body with minimal effervescence; clear throughout; thin, dissipating white head that subsides to minimal run of bubbles akin to iced tea... AROMA: cinnamon and nutmeg to start, with the hint of syrup and sweet malts at second scent; some evergreen spruce makes for an air freshener experience... PALATE: surprisingly vibrant, with an initial shiver to the throat; upon second sip, the mouthfeel mellows to a light-bodied, slightly textured presence--not the feel of pumpkin pie, label be damned,... TASTE: a lager, through and through, with slight suggestions of the odd yet intriguing aroma; mostly wet malty base with some phenolic yeasts...again, not exactly pumpkin pie... OVERALL: not the experience that other Lakefront brews offer--but not by much...an otherwise average attempt at a flavorful seasonal...
3.0 Bottle at The Roebuck, Leek (Titanic) Pours a clear pale amber colour with no head. Aroma of pumpkin, some spices, maybe cinnamon and subtle grain. Taste of pumpkin, spice, some cinnamon, a little orange, sugar and grain. Light bodied and moderate carbonation. A spicy bitterness in the finish. It’s does what it says on the bottle. Pumpkin lager with real pumpkin & spices. Decent but not sessionable.
2.6 12 oz. bottle. Pour is murky off orange color, with minimal head. Aroma of fall leaves and spices. Taste was sweet, spices and pumpkin flavors.
3.6 12 ounce bottle into lager glass, best before 12/25/2015. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy orange/amber color with a 1 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. light spotty lacing clings down the glass, with a light amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, ginger, brown sugar, toasted bread, and herbal/toasted earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of pumpkin/spices and dark/bready malt notes; with decent strength. Taste of pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, ginger, brown sugar, toasted bread, and herbal/toasted earthiness. Light herbal/spice bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, ginger, brown sugar, toasted bread, and herbal/toasted earthiness on the finish for a short bit. Good balance and solid robustness of pumpkin/spices and dark/bready malt flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness after the finish; and very clean on lager flavors with zero yeast ester notes present. Medium carbonation and light-medium bodied; with a very smooth, moderately crisp, and lightly creamy/bready mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming present after the finish. Overall this is a good pumpkin lager style. All around good balance and solid robustness of pumpkin/spices and dark/bready malt flavors; and very smooth, crisp, and clean to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.
3.2 pours a clear copper orange with a small white head. aroma is light pumpkin and heavy spice. The taste is more spice than pumpkin. A nice lingering spiciness on the palate. Pretty darn good.
4.2 Very very good pumpkin smell with some spice, awesome reddish smell, taste is awesome...same as smell, pumpkin spice, very good spice...very very good taste...not really smooth but bold flavor that is strong and in your face
3.8 Spicy Aroma, cinnamon, nutmeg, Nice pumpkin/Apple flavor. Orange pour, small white head. Impressed. Started 2015 with a bang winning the tough 1b qualifier, only to finish 10th of 15 in round 2. Still very good.
4.1 Medium head and carb. A nice, rich taste full of spices. A great blend of hops and grains.
3.5 Nice pumpkin flavor. Not super heavy. Thick though. Sweet, not sugary. Aroma is light. Tap
3.8 Fantastic fresh pumpkin aroma. Rich dark amber hue. It has a rich, creamy, slightly sweet overall taste. You get a ripe pumpkin flavor, with all the pumpkin pie spices, mixed in with a hearty nutty flavor. Clean finish Excellent oktoberfest beer!
3.2 Pours a finger and half of head on a hazy straw body. The aroma is apple cider, smoke and apple spice. The taste is smoke, cinnamon, muted pumpkin and grain. The texture is gritty. Nice.
3.5 Bottle. Pours a nice orange color. Aroma and taste are pumpkin and spices..
3.6 This beer is the great pumpkin taste with a nice medium look and a fall smell to boot.
3.1 From the 12 fl. oz. bottle dated 08/14/14. Sampled 6 months later so that should be noted. Typical pumpkin orange pour with a quick-lasting head. a little milky. Bright vibrant aroma of sweetness, pumpkin spice, apply and other juicy fruits. Medium body. The spices creep up in the flavor more than I expected along with a juicy fruitiness that overpowers any pumpkin spices that are there. Not sure how to rate this one. It doesn’t really fit the style entirely but it does have an interesting character.
2.8 Pours a slightly cloudy light orange with a white head with little lacing. The nose is light spice. The taste is spice with no bitterness apart from the spice. The body is lager, which is a welcome change from the pumpkin ales.
3.0 bottle - This is a decent pumpkin beer with some good spice character. I did pick up some grainy alcohol in the flavor which I didn’t expect at only 5.4% but it wasn’t too bad. Light to medium body. Mildly sweet.
2.8 36cl, no mention of ABV, American brew, with pumpkins, from De Hopduvel Gent, not complex brew, malty/spicy and slightly sweet, yet not balanced, cloudy, small head, nothing special
3.5 Bottle. Lacking in aroma, but makes up it with a very smooth feeling. Not much in flavor, but hints of apple and spice. Really nothing "pumpkin" about it, but that’s a good thing if you don’t really get into "pumpkin" flavored brews. Not very distinctive, but an easy to drink, smooth, unoffensive fall lager.
3.3 Pours light gold into a shaker. Bright white head with medium retention recedes leaving no lacing. Sour pumpkin and cinnamon aromas. Dry with nutmeg, mild vegetal pumpkin and cinnamon front to back.
3.6 Pours a lighter copper color with off-white head. Pumpkin, pumpkin pie spice, caramel malt, and a light sweetness on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes with a pumpkin pie spice note. Smooth and easy drinking.
2.8 Aroma of light pumpkin spices, potpourri... Extremely thin mouthfeel, flavor of light malts, apple juice, cinnamon... Bland finish... Unexciting
