Lakefront White Beer

Lakefront White Beer

Brewed in the style of a Belgian Wit. A special blend of coriander, orange zest and unmalted wheat help to make this a remarkably refreshing summer beer.

2.7 Clean but very light brew without a whole lot of aromas or flavors. Mildly sour and short aftertaste.
3.2 Hazy yellow. Aroma of citrus and coriander and wheat. Taste is sweet grain and fruitiness. Medium bodied with average carbonation.
2.7 Average at best. Not the most pleasant tasting but still a very drinkable beer. Not horrible.
3.6 Very solid offering. Hazy golden yellow. Slight citrus and spice nose. Wheat grain on the palate with lemony citrus. Smooth finish. Slight spicy coriander kick on the finish.
3.7 Smell of coriander, orange zest and wit yeast funk. Hazy. Nice refreshing yeasty taste, finishes well with. High carbonation contributes to wit flavor development.
3.1 Bottle. Pours gold white head. Nose/taste of wheat malt, coriander, banana cake, orange cream and zest and baked bread. Lighter medium body.
3.3 On tap at this year’s Chicago Beer Society annual picnic. According to the brewery, future labeling will also include the organic description as was posted on the keg. Self dispensed to a clear, plastic shaker, showing a hazed, orangey straw color, with a frothy, white head, and good cling to the abundant lacing. The nose was soft grain, orange peel, and light spice as coriander. Light bodied, with decent carbonation, the taste offered a little citrus, and low hop bitterness. Refreshing, and nothing more expected than a very appropriate brew for the occasion.
3.5 (Bottle). Hazy golden yellow complexion. Flavors include citrus, lemon, mild wheat and yeast. Smooth palate. Underrated for the style.
3.2 Refrigerated 12 oz. brown bottle, March 19, 2013, poured into a weizen glass. Pours clear light golden with small bright white head. Aroma is nice light coriander, medium body, low carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is malty, some coriander, and hints of orange.
3.2 On tap, poured into a plastic sampler. The nose is a dry spice and tangerine peel, but relatively muted for a wit. The light hazy, straw color keeps a light, white cloudy surface of head with a thick creamy ring and leaves a decent amount of lace down the glass. The taste is a medium sweet and bitter - balanced well. The thinnish texture has lots of soft carbonation. The medium body finishes spicy and orange scone (light on the orange though). The aftertaste is a clean, light, spice and grass.
3.4 On draught at 2014 oobf - pours grayish golden. Nose of yeast, spices, grass. Taste is of cloves, spice, and citrus. Quite refreshing.
3.4 Nice and refreshing. Quite smooth and thin. Fine foam and easy to drink with any pairing if it is an snack.
2.4 Bottle from Ashur Liquor in variety 8 pack: Poured a straw blonde with slight white tint and no formation of head. As for the aroma, there is almost no smell to discuss other than a hint towards a pinch of coriander. The flavor is bland with only a hint of coriander spicing and a touch of orange peel that ends up tasting artificial in the end anyways.
3.1 Poured from bottle into a tulip glass with almost no visible head. Citrus aroma was apparent immediately after pouring, came out as a lightly cloudy golden color. Very sweet and citrusy taste. Was hoping for a little less sweetness and more wheat flavor. Overall, an average beer. Would be more enjoyable to drink during the summer time.
2.4 DATE TASTED: December 28, 2013... GLASSWARE: Hoegaarden tumbler...OCCASION: post-NFL playoffs... APPEARANCE: hazy, yellow-orange hue--approaches pale orange juice--with a thin white head; reasonable lacing... AROMA: faint drifts of orange intermingle with wheaty esters--weak and ephemeral... PALATE: rather thin and flat; slow carbonation--swiftly consumed! probably a thirst quencher in the summer months, but not such a suitable companion in the winter...TASTE: softened, suppressed peach, orange zest, subtle lemon...a watery, tuned down wit... OVERALL: tough to hate on this one, as it may well be the season weakens its experience; still, the overall effect is an unmemorable one, an American wit that cleans and rinses an already clean palate...
3.3 I like this one. Has good balance to citrus and spice. Very crisp and refreshing. Not as murky as some wits can be. A good solid offering from this brewery. Definitely will buy again!
3.0 Pours a cloudy, pale yellow with a fairly big head for a wit beer. Bitter spice and orange aromas. A little sweet, which to me makes it less refreshing for me. It is also a little thin, but I am a fan of wit biers.
3.3 No detectable aroma. Flavor is watery with hints of coriander and orange. I really like the flavor but wish it was significantly stronger.
3.1 Pours light light yellow with almost non existent head. Aroma is very light with hints of orange, coriander, and wheat. Taste is light and sweet with a crisp finish. Overall an average beer that grew on me.
2.8 12 oz bottle. (Lakefront Brewery) Milwaukee, WI. Hazy yellow golden colour with a small white head. Wheat, yeast, some malt and mild bitterness in the aroma. Yeast, wheat, mild bitterness in the flavour. American Wheat Ale to me. Not the worst though.
3.0 12oz bottle. Pours a hazy pale golden color with a small foamy white head. Aroma of orange, wheat, and some yeast. Taste is light and citrusy, with notes of coriander and orange peel.
3.1 Cloudy golden color with a whitish head. Light, distinct fruit flavors. Citrus zest and a hint of spice. Crisp and refreshing.
3.4 caramel, bread, citrus, herbs, dough, golden, cloudy, minimal head, white foam, light sweetness, lightly bitter, lightly sour,
3.0 Cloudy yellow orange. Almost no head. Thin. ’small -mild flavor’. Wheat, orange, spices. Creamy. Decent but lacking.
2.8 Pours a very light straw yellow colour with a tiny white ring of bubbles around the glass and no lace. Aroma is light honey like sweetness, a touch of coriander spiciness, and light orange. Flavour is tangy orange, coriander, a touch of bitterness and honey notes.
2.7 Not bad, overly acidic citrus flavor, pretty crisp I guess... Just had shitty beers so this is better by comparison!!!!
3.3 bottle into pint glass, hazy yellow pour, white head, bitter nose, taste is noice crisp some honey, hints of apple, pretty ok witbier, would do again
2.0 Pours hazy gold with a small white head. Aroma is wheat, overripe orange. Taste is wheaty, fairly weak citrus. Almost a lager-graininess to it. Pretty poor.
2.5 Plain but smooth. I’m seeing a common theme with Lakefront. All of their beers are passable for the style but in no way extraordinary. This is your run of the mill wheat beer. Hazy gold, faint aroma, mild taste - just blah to me!
3.2 Pours a very pale and cloudy yellow color with that typical wheat scent. There is a decent taste of citrus but the overall taste of the beer feels a little weak to me which makes for some very very easy drinking. Recommended to those who don’t like beer all that much, this is a good beginner beer.
