Lancaster Winter Warmer

Lancaster Winter Warmer

Our classic Olde Ale redefines the term "bull-bodied" with its deliverance of complex and firm malt flavor. A fine blend of British and American hops provides an even bitterness as this beer finishes with a warming alcohol flavor.

4.2 Great winter warmer. Subtle spices deep flavors of malts and some barley. Sweetness is light and finished warm like promised. Plus benefits the local wolf preserve. You can?t go wrong. Tap

3.3 12 Fl. Oz. Bottle. Pours clear, dark brown, nice tan head and decent lancing on the glass. Aroma of malts, caramel and some dark fruits. Taste is consistent and bit of roasted malts, some fruit, sweet caramel. Definitely a warmer... Enjoyable and quite interesting. (#800thrating, #hellyeah)
3.7 Bottle from Wegmans. Aroma is spice, cinnamon, nutmeg, malt, pine and hop. Taste is the same. A touch of yeast and alcohol. Some Belgian qualities to it. More hoppy than I would have thought. Good character. Definitely a warming winter brew. Similar to Brrr from Widmer.
3.7 Thanks to my nephew Sean for this beer . Excellent spice and dark malt aftertaste - very piney taste and palate. Reminds me of anchor christmas beer and yards poor Richards.
3.5 10/30/2014. On tap at the brewery. dark brown with a tan head. Malty caramel aromas, hints of booze, dark fruit with a sweet malty finish. Very good, but not something I could drink a lot of.
4.1 Transfer from BA review on 12-13-12- Served on tap in a 10 oz chalice glass Appearance – Served a deep ruby color with a one finger off white head. The head faded over a moderate amount of time to leave a decent lacing. Smell – The aroma is heaviest of a mix of dark fruit aromas and some caramel with the dark fruit being mainly of a raisin and prune in nature. A light nutty, Christmas spice and boozy aroma round out the sweet aroma and create e nice smell overall. Taste – The taste begins with a malty and doughy flavor mixed with a strong raisin and prune flavor. Spice flavors come to the tongue quickly with some of the sweet transitioning from the dark fruit to a more caramel nature. Flavors of spice and some alcohol then start coming to the tongue more toward the middle and the end. A light bitter hoppy flavor also comes to the end and leave a nice warming flavor to be left on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the medium to full side with a carbonation level that is average . This feel is very nice for the lightly boozy, malty, spicy and bitter flavors of the brew, letting all to be detected, but yet keeping any from overwhelming the flavors of the brew. Overall – A quite delicious and nice warming winter ale. Quite nice.
3.2 Aroma is malt with hints of banana, similar taste. Not a bad beer just nothing that sticks out.
3.0 Dark brown body, medium to thin light tan head, spotty lacing. Caramel, light roast, toast, and earth. Traces of dark fruits. Medium bodied, moderate sweetness, appropriate carbonation. Pleasant but lacking complexity and depth.

4.5 Rating from 2010 with 8.9%: Tiefdunkle Farbe, malzig-alkoholische Note. Danke an John!! --> 14/13/14/14
3.1 Tap. Pours clear brown with ruby highlights with just a trace of thin, beige head. Aroma is caramel and cookie malts, floral hops, dates, and light booze. 3.1 bottle->snifter. Dark brown with light tan head that quickly dissipates. Aroma: roasted malt, vanilla, alcohol. Taste: malt and caramel with alcohol finish. Pretty smooth, tad thin.
4.2 Enjoyed from bottle. Very surprised to see the rating so low on here, but I guess that’s the funny thing about opinions. Probably the best winter beer I enjoyed this season. Very smooth, perfect for the cold winter night up in Massachusetts where I drank this.
3.2 Pours cola colored with an off white head that dissipates. Aroma is bready with raisins. Prominent alcohol note in the taste and something akin to oak. A little too thin.
3.5 The pour a dark caramel with very little head that does not leave lacing. The aroma is primarily of sweet malts. The taste pretty much follows the scent with the sweet malt really hitting home. There may be a hint of hop bitterness in the finish. Very solid and goes down quite smoothly at 9%. Very nice winter brew!
3.4 Since I was in the area checked the brewpub out. On draft in a English pint glass. Rich chestnut brown color with tan head. Aroma was very malt rich; caramel, nuts and spices. Taste is malt richness and some warm alcohol. Heavy body is soft and smooth. A new LBC favorite next to their Milk Stout. Not bad.
3.7 Not a stout, but nice for people who like them. Deep, deep in color, malty in flavor, and malty on the nose.
2.9 Little aroma, pleasant raisin-like palate with caramel licorice flavor. Does not finish as well...
