3.3 Bottle shared by alexsdad06 pour avg to dark gold with moderate white head. Nose grassy, soapy, dank. Taste moderate bitter bite up front, then dank hop and light vegetal. Not as floral and aromatic as most Oregon IPAs that I’ve had.
2.8 12 oz bottle. Dated 8/13/16. Assuming that’s "best by" since its 2 weeks in the future. Very cloudy, slightly dark yellow/orange. Overly floral hops. Slight bitterness, especially on the aftertaste. I would say it tastes way too old, but within the stamped date range so I’ll assume it was always subpar.
4.8 Found in 12 oz bottles in Hanshin dept store in Osaka. Pine, floral, and citrus explosion. Like French kissing a two thousand year old bristlecone pine in the knothole. Great pucker with quick finish. Wham bam thank you mam. God I feel great!
2.7 4oz taster at VCBW 2016-Day 2. Lightly toasty, almost rye-like with plasticky notes. Hint of saltiness-grassy. Orange marmalade, thicker body, darker hops. Just average, was expecting a lot more based on the average high rating.
3.3 On tap. Burnt dark orange with heavy pine aroma. This is a hella floral tasting ipa bursting with flavor. Instant pine and floral notes with extravagant hops. Short finish.
3.8 Draught @ Laurelwood, PDX Airport, Portland, OR. Pours dark yellowish orange with a smooth head. Aroma of grassy hops, citrus, herbal notes and caramely malts. Taste is crisp, hoppy and grassy with some pine and citrus. Finish is crisp, sweetish and grassy hoppy with some lingering bitterness and citrus. Good one.
3.7 12 oz Bottle. Smells of pine and catpiss. Pours a golden amber. Tastes a bit sweet but pleasant, lots of sweet hops in the flavor. Lasting aftertaste with ideal bitterness. This is a solid IPA.
3.4 On tap at Sassy’s. Pours a clear copper with medium frothy white head thst lasts. The aroma is floral and citrus. Medium mouth, earthy hop, light citrus, resin finish, good.
3.9 From a bottle. Wonderful citrus aroma and taste. Sweeter than most IPAs but extremely drinkable
4.2 Fresh hopped version at The Drake Eatery (Oct 2015). Aroma is very hoppy with piney and citrus. Taste is very fresh, hoppy bitterness. Excellent.
4.3 Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass. The appearance is a murky golden yellow with a small white head. The aroma is a big sniff of pine with citrus and hops. The flavor is pine and hops in a nice blend with some citrus at the end. An excellent IPA.
3.9 Bottle. Clear golden pour with offwhite head. Aroma has lots of peach and tropical fruit. Taste is balanced with lovely bitterness. Medium body. Medium carbonation. Comes together nicely
3.2 12oz bottle. Poured an amber color with an averaged sized head. Citrus, toasty, floral, and some caramel.
3.1 Bottle. 2 months old. Aroma is sugary citrus juice with light flowers and crackers. Tastes the same. Too much sugary malt here. Maybe the hops faded a little over two months? Almost no bitterness. Not really my kinda IPA. I’ll try to revisit fresh some day.
3.8 Plastic cup draft at the Moda Center for a Blazers game. The pour is clear copper with a one inch egg white head that is lasting, impressive considering the plastic stadium cup. The aroma is big orange citrus fruit, strong resin and sweet malt. The taste is a great blend of the big fresh orange citrus resin hops and softly sweet malt. The palate is medium bodied, active carbonation and a resin and mineral finish. Really solid IPA, super fresh - fantastic for a stadium beer.
3.1 Draft - Fresh hop version - Light citrus sweetness. Cloudy gold with a decent white head. Leafy, grassy, sweet and a bit of an herbal note. Sweet grass sticks a bit too much.
3.5 Bomber. Clear deeper orange copper, firm off-white foam. Aroma of richer c-malt and fruity hop. Taste is too sweet, dark caramel malt forward, barely bitter fruity hop, some citrus and herb. Average carbonation, medium bodied, well hopped. NFL (Not For Lagerboys)
3.6 IPA. ホッピーでアルコール感が強い、かるい甘さ
3.3 16 oz pint- Pours clear orange with a white small head. Aroma is sweet malt, some hops, pretty generic. Taste is sweet malt, dry buttering hops, pretty average. Not bad but straight down the line basic.
3.7 Draft pour pint at the safe. Pours a clear copper color with a lasting fizz head. Rich sweet tropical fruit hop aroma and flavor. Almost has a little pineapple thrown in there. Orange fruit. A little sweet for my usual taste but overall an enjoyable, solid IPA.
3.7 Bottle from Craft Beer Base. L: pours a clear copper with two fingers of light foamy head, tonnes of lacing. S: a big fruity floral punch leaps out, some pine, like other well-known west coast IPAs. T: delicious. A lot of grapefruit, other citrus and tropical flavours, a little pine. F: very easy drinking, nice mouthfeel and bittnerness. Actually a touch watery for the ABV. Medium-bodied. O: Enjoyable IPA. Could be bolder at 7.5%, but I’m nitpicking.
4.0 Bottle from Capitol Beer & Tap Room. Pours golden with a thick off-white head and a citrus aroma. There is a rich pale malt flavor with a very bitter finish.
4.5 This one just became available in bc. About bloody time! Poured from a bomber into a pint glass. Beautiful copper without a ton of head (did pour it pretty gently) but on the re up a more aggressive pour left me with a couple inches of Bright citrusy aroma, blood orange to go with some great piney hop. Beautiful balance in the flavour. A ton of bitterness immediately offset with some sweet almost butterscotch malt flavour. Not a palate destroyer at all and could be dangerously slideable at 7.5 percent. Loved it. Between powell’s bookstore and the incredible beer how do you Portland folk get anything done? Lucky bastards.
3.4 Bottle thanks to VanJamer @ BA, thanks Jamie! No date on the bottle so presumably not so fresh. Pours a clear copper with a medium off-white head that leaves pretty good lacing. Nose is of resinous hops and fruits. Taste is moderately and gives out flavors of fruits again, resin and some butterscotch impressions. Bitterness is moderately high. Body is medium, carbonation moderately high and mouthfeel is slightly oily. Overall an OK IPA but far from best in style. I might have been spoiled, though. ;)
3.2 Pours a small white frothy head atop a deep orange clouded body. Nose of Seville oranges and sweet malt. Rather robust with a good malt base, not overly warming or sickly. This feels more drinkable and less of a headache waiting to happen beer. I’d try this again. Purchased at Liquor Planet in Langford.
3.7 22 July 2015, tap at Laurelwood Brewing Co in Portland airport. Yellow, clear, no bubbles. Nose is resin hops. Med body and moderately fizzy. Lemon rind and bitter grassy hops.
4.8 Amazing ipa. Pours orange with amazing aroma that carries through to taste. Very little hop aftertaste
