4.1 Black coloured. Roasted malts, massive chocolate, quite bitter. Heavy bodied, finish is of black pure chocolate.
4.0 12oz can pours an oily, opaque black with lots of mocha head. Big nose, malt and toast and cracked grains, there's a deep candy sugar thing that feels more Belgian than maple, burnt toffee. Flavor has that candy feel, maple now too, malt, heavy black licorice, raisinette, some prune even. Full bodied, sticky finish.
4.0 (Can) Black with a small, creamy brown head that leaves an even coat of lace. Dark roasted malt, dark chocolate. Creamy mouthfeel, full bodied. Dark roasted flavor, chocolate, maple syrup, wood, licorice, some dark fruit.
3.7 Draft at Bru Craft. Pitch black pour with a thick brown head. Wall of soft lace. Smooth dark cocoa up front. Espresso. Burnt pecans. Molasses. Cola. Sassafras. Some nail polish in the aroma. The maple syrup is barely there. Hope I have the right pour. Nice big Imperial Stout.
3.6 Black pour with a thin beige head and spots of lacing ..... aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, light syrup more molasses like ..... taste is of light syrup, roasted malts, chocolate, coffee and dry cocoa ..... bitter dry finish with lingering cocoa, chocolate and roasted malts with some syrup .... abv hidden well .... bit of a let down
3.5 Can from Ginger Man, NYC. Aroma of caramel, chocolate, nuts, and coffee. Maple doesn't come through until the taste, where it's very noticeable: maple, coffee, nuts. Starts off intensely sweet, ends with an intensely bitter finish. Would be better if it was more balanced throughout. Still good, though.
3.8 Pours thick black with two finger, dark tan head. Aroma is maple syrup, roast and light cocoa. Taste is maple syrup and chocolate, moving to roast. Finish chocolate, maple syrup and roast. Tasty stout.
4.1 Thin dark tan head over a near black body. Nose is rich, featuring dark chocolate, roasted malt and dark berries. The maple comes out early along with slightly burnt butter, molasses, and dark roasted malts. Dark berries, toffee, dark berries and some citrus hops round out an excellent, rich IS.
4.2 Pours black with a brown head. Roasted malt aroma with maple syrup. Flavor is roasted malt with roasted malt with maple syrup. Roasted malt finish. Fantastic!
3.8 Pours dark black, aroma a nice mix of sweet and roasty, taste has a nice roasted malt body with the sweetness from the maple throughout, maple is not overwhelming, full mouthfeel, very smooth for a 10+% abv, can.
3.4 12 oz. can. Pours an opaque dark brown with a proper dark brown dense head gone too quickly. Scents of maple and some chalk. Tastes of chalk and maple with a big sweet start bowing to a chalky malty middle and then going back to a cloying sweet maple finish with a lingering sweet alcohol warming. Might be good on pancakes. Oily mouthfeel and low carbonation. Mostly good.
4.0 Bottle: Poured a black brown with a tan head. Aroma is maple with a hint of chocolate and roasted malt. Taste is complex, maple, molasses, roasted malts, dark chocolate.
3.8 12 oz. can from Tammy - thanks again! Pours a deep, dark, opaque brown with a moderate tan head that settles into a ring that leaves some trailing lace behind, along with a thin, patchy film atop the liquid. Notes of roasted malts, dark chocolate, earth, tobacco, maple, molasses, and some muddled fruit. Medium-full bodied, with modest carbonation and a sweet mouthfeel. Not as much depth or character as I'd hoped. It drinks like the imperial stout version of the Maple Nipple, so they're consistent. Not bad.
3.9 Can thanks to Ken - pours black with a thin tan head. Dark sweet and roasted malty, some smooth chocolate, sticky sweet maple chiming in, full body, ashy charred and sweet maple malty finish. Went down a treat.

3.6 Draft at the brewery with Paul, Andrew, Brendan and Joe. Pours a deep amber mahogany body with thin off white lace. Nose is rich molasses, sugar, booze and sap. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with notes of booze, maple, sweet malt, sugar and dark fruit.

4.5 Dark toast. Candy sugar. Vanilla. Sweet. Red hued dark dark brown with a dark brown head that disappears leaving a ring around the edge. Glassy. Hard candy. Sticky sweet. Dark chocolate. Brown sugar. I don’t know that I get any maple but it’s definitely sweet.
4.0 Opaque black with a medium tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Roasted malts, dark chocolate, maple syrup.

4.3 Draft pour at NH Brewfest. Appearance is opaque black with a thin ring of light brown-reddish head. Aroma is nice chocolate, rich roasted malt, cherry. Taste is fudgey chocolate, rich roasted malt, subtler sweet cherry. Palate is medium bodied with thick texture, soft carbonation, finish as taste. Overall, this is really, really good.
4.2 Bottle pour at SAVOR 2018's Saturday session. Black with tan head. Aromas of dark chocolate, cocoa, roasty notes, coffee. Tastes of dark chocolate, cocoa, cream, roasty notes, coffee. Full body with a dry finish. Creamy mouthfeel. Tasty.
3.9 Draft pour at Savor: An American Craft Beer & Food Experience 2018. Poured a dark, almost black oil color, with an off-white head. Aroma was light sharp, not quite pleasant notes, with a touch of sweet maple. Some mild earthy character, dark fruits, dark chocolate. Touch of woody barrel, some tobacco finish?
3.7 From notes. Enjoyed at a tasting at Jake’s house on May 20. 22 oz bottle. This one is a little older, but it should be decent. The pour is a thinner dark brown with a thin ring of almost egg shell colored head and a couple spots of lace as it disappears. The aroma is very roasty up front. There is a light smokiness that begins to come through and a hint of chocolate and tobacco. There is a definite sharp maple sweetness on the back end, but the smokiness for this one just doesn’t let me enjoy it as much as I want to. The flavor is just the same. There is a light roast and some good chocolate up front before the smoke comes through and then eventually lets the maple sharply stab in. The mouth feel is a little light and sharply carbonated with a quick-fading smoky maple on the end that doesn’t do a lot of good. Meh.
3.8 Bottle shared with Luc, Pat and Chantal. Aroma: intense tobacco, smokey maple, spices. App: black with medium frothy moka head leaving great lacing. Look similar to an espresso. Taste and palate: medium body, medium sweetness, light bitter finish. Overall: good. Maybe a bit too sweet for my tastes. Still easy to drink.
4.1 On tap at three penny. Pours out black topped with a tan head. Nose is big roast malts maple syrup sweetness coffee. Taste is more of the heavy roast malts chocolate sweetness maple coffee rich and chewy.
3.9 Roasty malty and maple aroma. Pours a nice black color with tan head. A really nice stout with a maple edge (as expected). Notes: Poor notes...deep into New England Beer Tasting night Nov ’15
3.8 On tap at BBF. Black colour with tan head. Chocolate, vanilla aroma. Sweet, chocolate, vanilla, roasted, caramel and fruity taste. Medium to full body.
4.0 Shared bottle at Craft. Pours hazy black with tan head. Nose is roasty dark malt, cacao, vanilla, oak. Tastes rich, with dark malt, tannins, vanilla, molasses, maple, and a smooth finish. Medium in palate heft with well hidden alcohol.
