3.8Hazy dark good with a huge fluffy head that lingered and left good lacing. Sweet and tangy with pine, citrus and floral hops. Long finish. Moderately full bodied
3.9I don't know if I'd really call this a New England IPA style...though it is from New England. Has a lot of bitter in there, and seems more "West Coast" in character. Doesn't really seem to be a hazy as well. Rather, has a clearish light orange to gold appearance. Strength-wise is a double at 8%. A friend brought this back from visiting up there, but I passed on this when in NE fourth of July weekend...instead grabbing a 4 of Little Sip. Gonna try to grab some of this fresher next time.
4.016oz cans shared by bananabi11, thanks! Can date of less than a month ago!! Pours a clear copper orange. Aroma has florals, pine, tropical fruit, and sweet malts. Taste is led by pine, with sweet malts, fruits, and some citrus. Medium bodied, the blend is good. Finishes with a solid bittersweet fruitiness, leaning bitter. Very nice older West Coast style with newer fruity hops. 14.7
4.1Hazy light copper color with a thin white head. Pleasant fruity hop aroma, smells of citrus and herbs. Moderate bitterness that lingers a bit on the finish. Hides ABV well. Bright and hop forward with a bit of softness to the overall mouthfeel.
4.0Tasty! More old school than some of the other hazy New England specials. It’s got a nice balance of hops and malts
4.2I poured it from the can into a plastic cup. It pours a hazy orange and amber with a white head. The aroma is pine hops, citrus, and mango. The taste is fresh hops, grapefruit, mango, pineapple, and grass. It's refreshing and tasty. It's very drinkable for a double. This is very good.
4.50,473 litre Can, from a trade. Cloudy Golden/ orange with white head. Malts, hops, Citrus, Tropical fruits, some herbal bitterness, sweetness. Good!
3.9Can. Hoppy aroma and taste, citeus fruit, light resin notes, medium to high bitter, light sweetish notes. Medium to full body, hoppy bitter finish. Good.
4.0(Can) Orange-amber body with a slight haze and a medium, frothy, off-white head. Aroma is moderately malty, and moderate citrus (orange, grapefruit). Flavor has strong caramel malt base, with strong bitterness to match: citrus pith; orange, grapefruit, astringent pine resin; warming alcohol. Medium body; oily texture; not much carbonation.
4.1Cloudy amber/gold color; Medium slightly creamy body; Aroma of malt/yeast, dank floral hops, some tropical fruit, & citrus; Flavor of slight sweet malt, yeast, pine hops, tropical fruit, caramel, and juicy citrus; Finish is fairly bitter; Nicely balanced; Really good.
4.0Crystal clear golden coloured body with a thinnish pure white head that fades fairly quickly. Aroma of deep resinous hops along with a good deal of both pine and perfume, with some large alpha acids and pungent alcohol noticeable on the end. Medium-bodied; Fairly crisp maltiness shows with some dryness at first and then brings out a dry dose of the flowers and resin and a hint of the fruits near the end. Aftertaste definitely shows a lot of alpha acid bitterness with some dank resin and flowers, but the grapefruit and citrus fruits do come out, but the residual sugars and hops make this complete and sort of hide the alcohol, which shows at around 7 per cent instead of the 8 listed. Overall, a very nice and hoppy beer that has some great balanced fruit notes and some smooth sweetness, but the dry flowers, resin and hay-like flavours make this crisper than most in the style. I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Whole Foods in New York (Bryant Park, 42nd Street), New York on 19-December-2020 for US$4,99 sampled while walking on the streets of New York on the same day, 19-December-2020 with my wife and kids, celebrating Christmas here in New York.
3.7Slight haze orange amber color with a white head. Floral orange citrus aroma. Floral dank little spice biscuit flavor. Medium body with a bitter little dry finish.
3.8Pours a semi clear bright golden orange with a foamy white head. Bold hoppy citrus aroma. Crisp and clean with a full mouth tingle and a very light bitterness. Finishes smooth with a light lingering citrus rind aftertaste. Refreshing and enjoyable.
3.8Can - lightly hazy gold with a soapy lace - dank AF aroma and flavor - malt structure is clean and lightly sweet up front, dry and clean on the back end - just enough foundation for the complex hop profile to cling to - hops are floral, spicy, dank, with some pine and citrus on the back end - finish is pepper, grassy, and dry - there’s a bit of sprouted garlic hoppiness lurking in the background that lessen my enjoyment somewhat, but overall good.
3.8On tap at Fortnight in downtown Providence, RI. Pours totally bright (/clear) gold with an inch of frothy white head, good retention. Aroma is orange, pineapple, some grapefruit, some spicy-herbal raw hop pellet aromas, light malt sweetness, rather floral - think of non-clover honeys. Reminds me just a bit of wort, which is why I'm only giving it a 7 on aroma. Mouthfeel is medium body, mostly oily, bit syrupy/starchy, moderate carbonation, medium-coarseness, medium burn, frothy. Flavor is grapefruit, touch of chicken (?!) some herbs, dank, spicy and very floral!! a bit of mango, a bit of hard rock candy. This is unique, especially the floral notes, which are lovely! Not sure exactly what they are doing, but keep it up! Also, not a hazy IPA - definitely a classic.
3.916 oz can at Pennsport. Medium golden, light haze, spotty head. Aroma features light hoppy notes, caramel. Taste did not wow me at first, given this beer's rep. It did creep up on me as I made my way through, tropical fruit notes, toffee, light floral and herbal accents. Slick, full mouthfeel Lingering bitterness.
3.7Canned. Didnt see the pour. Strong tropical fruit up front, some biscuit and malt. Hides the ABV well.
4.0500ml can from Brewdog Outpost Tower Hill. Amber colour with white head. Big pine resin hops, big citrus hops, pink grapefruit, lemon pith, tropical fruit hops, orange pith, dank, light yeasty, light mango, light biscuit malt. V drinkable for 8%, feels kind of like a middle ground between west coast and New England, great one
3.9Pint can from BrewDog Doghouse. Clear orange amber, not much head. Orange malt aroma. Tangerine hop falvour. Sharp and better. Decent IPA but doesn't deserve quite such high ratings.
4.0One is the best IPA beers I have ever had. Fruit flavors that are well blended. Nice bitter finish. This is as good as it gets! Outstanding!
3.6Can from BrewDog Lothian Road. Hazy golden body with an off-white head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of pine, stainless steel and resin. Flavour of lemon and pine with a long, bitter finish. Medium body with a slick texture. Soft fizz. It’s a decent IPA but I expected it to be better based on its score here.
3.7Can bought at BrewDog Leicester, drunk at home. Dark gold, pretty hazy with a ring of white head and a scummy white head. Some apricot, melon, white grape and lemon biscuit on the nose. Initially sweet with a nice malty hit followed by bitter and slightly astringent hop. Some peach and TCP in the aftertaste. Medium to heavy carbonation. Delicious!
3.8Can, The Offie, Leicester. Can, The Offie, Leicester. Hazy golden with a white head. Chunky tropical fruit with porridge malts. Citrus. Spicy and dank grass. Yeasty. Good.
3.8Can on the train home, 68010, 12/12/19.
Golden amber with a decent off white head.
Nose is orange pith, grass, ripe tropical fruits, melon, pine resin, toasted malts, pineapple.
Taste comprises sweet malts, bitter orange, pine, caramel, pineapple chunks, light weed, papaya.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close spiked with grassy come juicy hop bitterness with a light rising boost offered.
Decent DIPA.
4.126-11-19 // can shared at beereau Berlin. Thanks! A lovely balanced IPA. Clearish golden with a frothy white head. Tropical fruit and some pine aromas. Balanced bitterness.
3.8Clear amber body with a nice frothy white head. Aroma is resinous, mild caramel, floreal hops. Taste is caramel with an amazing hoppy kick (resin and grapefruit). Dry hoppy finish. Medium body soft carbonation oily texture.
4.4Nice amber with a white head. Fruity aroma. Taste of tropical fruit, pine, almost a little sweet with a bitter finish. Well done.
4.0Can't argue with this beer's rating; what a pitch-perfect DIPA, reaching a harmonious blend of juiciness and bitter pine, with lovely notes of grapefruit, berry, pineapple, and passion fruit, but backed up by a firm resinous back end, packed with pine needles and minerals. Delicious.
4.4Can (1 pint). Pours clear orang-gold with thick, off-white head and substantial lacing. Tropical fruit aroma (grapefruit, pineapple with a hint of perfume. Honey and light cracker malt with tropical fruit. Dry, resiny, mouthcoating finish. Full body.
