3.8 12oz can from Paradise Wine & Spirits in Old Saybrook. 6/20/2017 can date. Citrus. Big amarillo. Tangy tropical fruits. Somewhat lighter than medium bodied. Bittersweet. Quite tasty. Nice to have a Lawson’s finally .... 13.7
4.2 Appearance: slightly cloudy blonde, thin quickly fading foam. Smell: rather weak hoppy aromas, smooth lemon and cereals. Taste: lemon, unripe citrus, nice subtle and smooth piney and earthy hop notes, very adequate bitterness level for malt base. Overall: great Session India Pale Ale, perhaps closer to an American Pale Ale, hops aromatic could be boosted.
3.7 Tap at Draught 55 fine lighter gold pour. Nose is citrus and some hay. Tastes of straw, lemon drop, hay, grass, white grape and pear. Light bodied as expected. Moderate bitterness. Decent.
3.7 Where and how: Vermont @ Sun and Ski can 355 ml Aroma nice, soft floral-citrusy blend, gold malts in support. 7+ Appearance : Top: large cap, some lace on glass, longer lasting foam. Base: gold Palate : medium lighter in body, a bit softer than most, average finish. Taste: very drinkable, easy going creation. Perfect all-nighter. Satisfying blend of hops and malt. Just enough substance for not to be too heavy yet light enough to be session choice.
3.4 Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a white head. Aroma is of fresh hops, grass, a little citrus, grapefruit, and some earthiness. Bubbly palate. Flavor is the same. Citrusy hoppy freshness. Leaves a nice hoppy bite in the end.
3.5 From tap. Pours hazy orange with a small white head. Aroma is grapefruity and slight citrusy. Bitter, grapefruity and slight citrusy. Bitter and crisp hoppy finish.
3.8 Citrus and tropical hop aroma with piney finish. Taste is a light malt backing with some tropical citrus/mango hops, but finishes with a bitter piney hop flavor. Balanced well made session IPA. Flavorful and easy drinking. Maybe a bit more piney and bitter than I would like, but does have some balance from the tropical hops.
3.7 Orange draft pour at blackback pub. White head. Tropical and juicy but light. Best session I've had.
4.3 Draft at Jealous Monk. Pours golden with a white head. Leaves a shitload of lacing in the glass. Big floral and grapefruit notes on the nose. Lovely hop flavor on the tongue. Finished crisp and clean. A damn nice beer.
3.8 Pouring at Sierra Nevada Beer Camp 2016 in Boston. Pours a hazed gold with a medium sized white head. Cool straw and citrus on the nose, musk. Medium bodied, earthy slot onion and caramel on the finish.
4.1 Draft at Blackback. Hazy pale/gold pour dense creamy frothy white head, lasts forever with big sheety lacing. Aroma is whoa big: flowers and candied grapefruit, dank and earthy to boot. Light sweetness, hints of caramel, cracker malt, moderate bitterness, big hop flavor. Light body, lively carbonation, oily texture. Overall: delicious, impressive session IPA.
4.2 Can. Clear gold with chill haze lasting head and lace. Beautiful pineapple mango lemon floral grassy aroma. Medium light tropical fruit sweetness with medium assertive citrusy lemon drop bite riding assertive carbonation in a light body. Excellent.
3.5 Draft at City Tap House in Boston. Slightly hazy golden color with a one finger white head. The aroma is nice, citrusy with grapefruit and lemon, somewhat restrained. Flavor is nice and pleasant, pale/caramel malts balanced by citrus hops, medium-mild bitterness. Light on the feel, well carbonated. Pretty good SIPA.
2.9 12oz can. Pours clear orange with a moderate white head. Aroma is grass, floral hops, pine, and citrus. Taste is lime and grapefruit with a hint of cracker, a little grass, and a little pine. Lightly herbal. Moderately bitter. Light body. Lively carbonation. Crisp, light mouthfeel. This tastes very, very similar to Two Roads Lil’ Heaven.
4.0 Draft at Churchkey. Poured a very lightly hazed pale yellow color with a thick white head - went to batchroom and the head finally dissipated. Aroma was lots of citrus notes, lemon, perhaps a little bit of grapefruit. A touch of grass with some very light herbal, resin notes.
3.7 12 ounce can. Pours a somewhat hazy gold with a nice white head. Aroma of citrus and floral. Taste is citrus, tropical, floral, and malt. Refreshing.
3.6 Tap. Pours golden and clear with bubbly lace top. Aroma is hay, floral, grass, dough, citrus, but only in review. On casual encounter this is a hoppy beer. Initially taste is one of medium sweetness, but bitter sour notes build. Body is medium and texture is sticky. Carbonation is average to lively with a bitter finish. A refreshing session IPA.
3.8 Haze from bottom on yellow pour. Aroma is citrus zest and light fruit. Flavor is light lemon and solid bitter. A lot of flavor
3.9 Can bottled March 10. Pours clear pale yellow with big foamy white head. Nose malt floral hops and citrusy hops. Quite fruity and mellow. Taste mellow hops.with malt. Fruity and floral. Overall highly drinkable and work balanced but not very complex. Still pretty awesome.
3.9 Can pour. Intense grassy aroma. Pours a slightly cloudy amber. Medium to high bitterness, with strong hops. Intense flavor for a session. Great session.
3.5 Sucks that my can 6 months old but let’s hope for the best. Hazy apricot with an average white head that leaves ok lacing. Aroma is stale as expected. Mostly pine, citrus, and caramel. Taste is citrus and tropical fruit. Mango, grapefruit, and orange big time. Some stale pine and caramel as well. Fairly sticky. Overall good considering age. I bet fresh is awesome.
3.9 I enjoyed my first Lawson’s finest beer (Sip of Sunshine) last week, so I decided to "hop" at the chance to try their session IPA counterpart. It’s got a faint piney kinda citrusy smell. At first sip, I wasn’t too impressed. It tasted kind of flat and much like any other session IPA (similar to Bluepoint Mosaic for example) with a smooth but undetailed hop attack. However, after a few more sips, the beauty of this beer revealed itself with some more diverse flourishing of the hop profile and concluding in a satisfying piney, papery, almost pilsnery finish. Ultimately, this is a very fine session IPA, but doesn’t really justify the 14-15 dollar price point I often see six packs of 12ozers going for. Still it is worth a try if you like this style or brewery. Goes well with returning to the place where you met the love of your life (and the person you share this beer rating account with)!
4.0 Clear golden color with off-white head. Aroma is dank and grassy, really fresh. Taste starts really hoppy and slightly malty but not sweet. Not bitter either, really well balanced. Grassy hops, bright and green flavors. Light body but smooth, medium carbonation. Overall it’s a great session IPA.
3.8 Can. Nice citrus Arabia and taste. Slight bitterness. Very drinkable. Would drink regularly if available in wa
4.0 From the 12 fl. oz. can stamped 09/23/16. So it is two months old. Unfiltered murky golden-yellow pour with a big white head that lingers. Sediments. Robust aroma of herbs, spices, anise, orange, and a dank quality. Toasted pale malts under it all. Medium or better body, which was a little unexpected for a Session IPA. The taste has lost a little hop luster in two months but still enough spice, herbal, and toasted characters to keep me happy.
3.3 Easy drinking from a can. A month old from canning date. Aroma of apple, sweet hops, flavors of melon, Medium body. Appearance is translucent hiney amber with a lingering head Palette is slightly stucky and bitter on the back end Not a super beer, but an enjoyable one.
4.2 Can thanks to Kyle, thanks! Pours a clear light yellow with head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has lots of grass and hay with a bit of marijuana underlying. Flavor has earthy citrus and grass with light marijuana and light grains supporting.
4.4 Clear golden with a thin white cap. Delightfully bold hoppy nose with floral resins, passion fruit, lemon zest and grapefruit zest. Crisp and smooth flavor that’s not afraid to be grapefruity pithy and zesty, brightly hopped and bitter enough to hold its own, with a light crisp finish. Very keen.
3.7 Nicely done. Pours hazy golden yellow with a white head. Citrus aroma. Very smooth, with a light hop finish.
