3.4 Sought this one for a while as I saw it sold by LCBO in 12 or 24 packs. Got a unit at Broue Ha Ha in Gatineau. Hefty price, not bad but not worth the investment.
3.9 750ml bottle @ Kelly’s Cabin. Spring CANBIF 2017. Pours a clear golden colour with a white head. Nose is ample funky wild yeasts and barrel notes. Flavour is tart, funky, barrel, and has a nice dry sour finish. Delicious.
3.7 Bottled. Pours hazy deep golden with a small white head. Aroma of sour green grapes, wood sour berries, wood and funk. Slightly sweet flavor that ends up being dry and somewhat tart. Medium bodied, watery to oily texture and lively carbonation. A very nice Sour. 🌟🌟🌟🌟
4.0 Draft at Max’s Taphouse. Pours yellow and clear with a white head. Leaves some lacing in the glass. Has some wood and tart notes on the nose. I get bit of wine action on the tongue along with the Brett. It’s balanced and very quaffable.
4.2 One of the best sours I’ve ever had, the nose is lemony with notes of cheese and bretinomyces. Pours a hazy pale gold color with a thin but persistent white head with nice lacing. Taste is tart with notes of lemon and a hint of cheese. Light body but not watery with a tangy lemon peel finish.
3.8 Helder blond bier met weinig wit schuim. Geur: kruidig, bloesem, kamille. Medium koolzuurprikkel. Afdronk: licht zuur, licht bitter, druivenpitten. Leuk!
4.1 Bottle. Pours cloudy yellow, with a big creamy head. Aroma is tart fruity yeast, with floral notes, funky farmyard and wooden brett, as well as apricots, berries, white wine grapes, tannins and wooden barrels. Medium to full body, with average carbonation. Flavour is tart, fruity yeast, with apricots and zesty tangerines, hay, funky farmyard and wooden brett, as well as white wine grapes and wooden barrels.
4.2 750 ml bottle from slow beer.com.au. Pours ruby with medium tan head. Fantastic aroma, slightly sweet and funky. Taste is funky and sweet. Barrel ageing is subtle and adds an additional dimension. Great.
3.9 Bottle pour at Shelton Brothers. Big brett-forward nose with horseblanket and musty earth. Orange zest and saison yeast notes. Dry on the palate with more citrus. Clean, crisp and dry finish.
4.0 Draught at Moeder Lambic, stable long lasting bubbly head, hazy untense citrus orange color, bretty aroma, manure and horse sweat with vinous notes and vanila behind with a fruity hint, flavor of horse sweat, lemon and vanila backbone, light lemony sourness. Mellow and highly enjoyable..
3.9 On tap @ Moeder Lambic Fontainas, Brussels - BE. Color: hazy golden blond beer with no carbonation and medium white foam. Smell: fruity, grapes, white wine, chardonnay notes. Sourness. Really nice bouquet. Taste: medium body with good and fresh fruity sourness. White wine and saison grassy notes. Chardonnay and white wine. Really tasty. Aftertaste: fresh grassy, white wine.
Lukter at denne er sur.
1.9 Tap at cml. Pours unclear yellow. Good Hite head. Smell is rather dry. Malty. Not sour at all. Bit brett, but very mild. Taste is intense , honey-like sweetnzss , under a brett-forward funk. Very buttery. To a point i’d callbit dyacethyl. I trust moeders’ Taps, so i suppose it’s die to the beer ... Low carbo. This is just not good at all. Yogurthy. Not sour , had a dry, vinegar like aftertaste , that hardly feels natural either. Shamefull to call this a sour, the same category as some of the best beers out there
2.9 Slightly veiled golden color with stormy activity. Frothy white 3 finger head, lasting around 15 minutes, with very strong legs. Smells like grapefruits turning into piss. Taste of flowers, citrus, grapefruits, apricot, yeast, roasted malt. Lots of sourness with low sweetness. Slick smooth medium to full body with champagne like carbonation. Medium strength finish that lingers for a while with feels of fruity citrus and a flowery yeasty bouquet. Overall an okay Saison. Unpleasant smell, decent flavors, good finish. Refreshing, yet overly yeasty and bitter. Feels a little off. Sure it feels unique, but I don’t get the hype; way better choices out there, like the delicious Saison du Tracteur.
3.4 På kran på Taps Trondheim. Disig gyllen kropp med lys film. Nydelig frisk eple-chutney og marmelade i aromaen. Overraskende mye restsødme men likevel frisk på fruktsyrer. Litt fryseboks-is i smaken. Noe corn flakes i ettersmaken. Noe fylde.
3.8 13.09.2016, tap @ UNA: Nice creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is mild sour-ish fruity, soda powder, sorrel, oak, minerals, sour fruits, flowers, leafs, bark, hints fruit salt. Taste is slightly sour-ish dry, soda powder, minerals, sorrel, oak, sour fruits, old citrus peel, fruit stones, bark, peach. Medium bitterness, slightly sour-ish dry mouthfeel. Nice.
3.4 Beer Deluxe Hawthorn ontap(28-Aug-16)Sweet sour pineapple aroma.Cloudy amber, low head&suds lace.Sweet vinous pineapple funk flavour.Sweet sour pine finish &funk straw aftertaste.
Brett subtile. Acidité présente. Côté sucré. Finale vineuse. Cette bière à tout pour plaire. La complexité est évidente, agréable.
3.9 Tap at Moeder Lambic. Wow. Soft and low carbonation. Feels almost oily. Loads of oak, vinous, leather, citrus, sweet and sour, wood. Creamy and funky. Bit of everything.
3.9 Tap at The Only Cafe Toronto. Almost clear golden with small white head. Lots of Brett funk with pineapple, white wine, spicy yeast, light grainy, gooseberries, dry herbs, hay, dank cellar, sweet overripe peach. Medium sour and medium sweet. Medium bodied with soft fizzy carbonation. Quite nice!
3.8 Bottle from Lauziere thx Alex for buying it for me. It’s been a while since I wanted to try that one. A: citrusy, white wine, leathery, a touch of vanilla, subtle spiciness, apple, apricot App: clear golden small white head some lacing t/p: thin body with moderate long acidic finish. Moderate carbonation. O: After such a long wait even tough I was warned by friend that it wasn’t crazy. The beer felt just a bit sort of expectations. The label describe a complex beer, it’s complex don’t get me wrong but it feels also delicate at the same time..Not powerful enough. Glad I finally had it, I will enjoy the rest of my bottle and will probably buy again, I won’t simply buy a case of it
3.9 Draft at Moeder Lambic. Golden pour. Aroma of tart, oak and red fruit. Taste has soft vinous red fruit, oak, vanilla and tart. Nicely done.
3.3 (tap) hazy bright orange colour with a small white head; aroma of funk, barnyard, hint of sweet fruit; sweet-tart flavour with a short, light sour finish
3.7 Overall: Much oak, grapes, sour peel. Note: Bottle 750 ml at home. Reviewed 2016-07-22.
4.2 Pours gold with a quickly fading head. Nose shows funk, vanilla, oak, heavy passionfruit and lychee. Funky farmhouse-like flavours, more fruit, soft wine notes.
3.9 Tap at Moeder Lambic, 29th June 16. Pours rich amber, aroma is Brett, barrel, funk. Taste is woody, slight tart, liquor, vineous, complex. Nice stuff
3.7 Draft @ ML Fontainas, 3ième fête de la St Jean, shared with Rlgk and _Angst_. Dorée-orange, col in blanc.
