Le Trou du Diable la Morsure
Au commencement, tout nous semble paisible : se présente à nous une rousse au col blanc tenace, à l’apparence plutôt commune. Mais déjà, à l’approche du nez nous vient le pressentiment que la chute sera violente. En bouche, on se laisse d’abord berner par un léger sucre caramélisé rapidement envahi par une contre-attaque vive et rapide de houblon. Une amertume verte et intense nous envahit de toute part tandis que le petit goût de sucre caramélisé soutient un équilibre avec une délicieuse finale prenant l’allure de noisettes.

Orangé-clair un peu voilé. Belle écume. Arômes de grains, de pain, de malt. En bouche, à la première gorgée, ça pique un peu (d’où le nom ’Morsure’?). Pourtant, au goût, rien d’extravagant. On note tout de même des élans céréaliers et de gomme de sapin. Une belle rondeur, un brin amère. Légère impression métallique en fin de palais, dû au 6,8%, mais rien de dérangeant. Réconfortante, sans être lourde. Bravo!

Pours clear deep golden with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, orange, citrus and caramel. Taste is medium sweet and medium bitter with a long caramel, orange, citrus and floral finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
The beer has got a hazy orange-brown colour with a steady head and medium to smooth body. Aroma of hops and oranges. Taste of hops, oranges, thyme, herbs, pine and bread. Mild finish.

Consummation: Apricot, wheat, orange peel, spruce
Adjunct: Aroma is full of stone fruits and some tropical fruit akin to papaya with a strong grain background; light yellowish amber with a huge, creamy, white head offering decent lacing
La Morsure from Le Trou du Diablo, was one of my first IPAs. Another mash of cultures, this beer is an American IPA with a strong malt character that overpowers the hops to some degree. Still quite citrusy (grapefruit, orange) and smooth as silk. An excellent beer.
From bottle. Pours a hazy dark yellow with a white head. Hoppy aroma of citric fruits. Medium body with a soft carbonation, a light sweetness and a light to medium bitterness. Flavor of light malts, a little alcoholic and fruity with mango, lemon, papaya - ripe sweet fruits.
Bottle, 375mL. Home. A sparkling orange-yellow clear beer with a medium white head ; average retention. Fruits (tropical fruits, blackberry), light caramel, resin/ Medium sweet, round, medium dry bitter, light warming background. Medium body, thin texture quite oily, average carbonation, dry resinous bitter lasting finish. Overall, enjoyable ; really (too) hoppy in a good way (fruits+>caramel) and also a bad way (spicy dry resinous "burning" finish).
Pours a hazy pale gold, with lots of particulate, reminiscent of homebrewed beer.
Nose is interesting and reveals hints of honey, tropical fruit & floral hops. Oddly enough, it reminds of German lagers and American IPA at the same time.
Taste is malty sweet with good bitterness and wonderful hop flavors. Not as bitter as some other examples. Nice balance of malt and hop flavors. Some yeast character in there as well, which adds to complexity. Finish is more malty than it is dry / bitter. Mouthfeel is medium-full.
Wonderful beer. Really enjoy the complexity. A nice change from the standard hop bombs I enjoy.

On tap @ Patricks. Clear golden body with a medium sized, lacing white head. Aroma has malt and mild berries/grapes, slightly spicy. Flavor is smooth malt, light caramel, moderate fruits and berries. OK bitterness. Medium body and average aftertaste with more bitterness. Not the most typical IPA, but sure a drinkable one.

Exotic fruits, slightly piney with a medium bitter backbone. Some spicies too. Medium strong bitter dry finish with caramel and pine. Balanced and round beer with an interesting and different nose.
Kveldens tredje fra planke på Le Trou du Diable krankupp på Cirkus (Stavanger) sep-16: lett uklar lys kobbergylden med fint skum som varer. Alle de fire pale ales jeg smakte hadde noen fellestrekk: en nærmest cremet munnfølelse, balanserte smaksinntrykk og myk, behagelig avslutning. Så variasjonene lå i humleprofilene. Deilige øl alle fire, dog uten å være minneverdige. Fruktig anslag med appelsinmarmelade, honning, blomster og karamell. Myk bitterhet i avslutningen, og lang, deilig ettersmak. Synd at de olfaktoriske evnene mine var sterkt reduserte av forkjølelse.

Hazy gold beer, good cream colour head. Palate is airy, semi dry and has decent fine carbonation. Mild creamy sweetness from the malts. Orangy hops, touches of hop spice and pine. Some citric peel bitterness on the finish. Decent. Bottle from the back of the cellar so has held up well.
Belle rousseur cuivrée et col blanc qui colle assez.
Bel équilibre, corps assez doux et qui soutient les houblons, belle palette aromatique, parfums floraux et épicés assez originaux.L’amertume est très modérée finalement, la rondeur/douceur prédomine.
Chère en France mais vaut le coup d’être essayer.C’est un bon breuvage.

En bouche attaque sur le grain et sur le pamplemousse à peine résineuse en fin de bouche avec un côté sec.

Bref: makes up for humble straight-forward aromatics with impressively clean and dialed in fresh pine, citrus and lime. - Immensely drinkable at this ABV and dryness. Shines with a mature dose of hop aromatics and bitters, a subtle cocktail mixed by a bartender with some age and wisdom (lime balanced against orangeat, wet pine against gently toasted biscuit malts). Love the bottle format and so far most of this brewery’s output.

En boca resinosa y amarga. Muy buena
Vierte naranja limpio con buena cabeza de espuma de aspecto jabonoso dejando piernas en la copa y presentando buena retención, aromas a flores, miel, fruta cítrica, pomelo y mandarina, hojas de pino; en boca entrada media, con amargor equilibrado, siguen notas a resina y herbales, cuerpo medio pleno y carbónico medio, largo pos gusto, maltoso y con final dulce, compleja y bien balanceada ipa.
Veiled dark gold, almost amber color, with powerful activity. Thick creamy sparkly white 2 finger head, lasting around 20 minutes, with strong legs.
Aromas of sweet fruits and caramel, a little faint. Flavors of zesty citrus like orange and lemon, caramel, clove, pine, mint, herbal spices. Balanced sweet and sour taste. Grassy and slightly bready.
Medium body with perfect carbonation. Medium strength and long finish, ending with
a faint sweet zest and a bitter astringent but still pleasant spicy hoppy and piney tongue coat feel.
Overall a good craft having tasty complex flavors and great balance. The freshness is passable while the body is a little flat with a perceptible alcohol feel.
Bouteille de 600ml achetée au Métro+ Dépaties à Laval. Dégustée le 11 janvier 2015 (shaker). Bière dorée, limpide au départ. Mousse assez, col moyen blanc persistant. Très effervescente, bulles moyennes. Odeur de résine/pin marquée en amorce et de fruits tropicaux ensuite. Douce, assez sucrée, très amère. Saveur résineuse avec finale assez sèche et un peu herbacée. Bien équilibrée, amertume ressort bien mais n’est pas agressante. Rafraichissante même si assez costaude, se boit bien.
Hand pump (!) at Erzbierschof Zürich. So that’s what a flat IPA tastes like. Carbonation certainly does a lot to propel flavours, and it also balances out oddities. Still a good experience. It doesn’t really do justice to rate this, but a tick is a tick.

Une très bonne IPA
Blonde orangée claire voilée, houblon floral et résineux, belle amertume en bouche, notes entre agrumes et léger caramel, belle fraîcheur. Bouteille 60cl (format sympa) au joli packaging achetée chez Intercaves, Noisy-le-Grand, France, bue le 23/12/2015.
Bottle 60cl, a clear copper beer with huge head. Nose is intense on exotic fruit, peach, hop resin, luppuline, fresh hops, very powerful. Aroma is on sweet caramel, lot of hop resin, pine, earthy, ripped fruits, very robust and complex ipa.
Good, off-white head, leaving lace over dull-copperish orange beer. Aromatic hops’ nose, mainly rosewater; preserved orangepeel on syrup; gradually shifting to dry hopbales. Bitter, dry-hoppy (dried hops, too), again orange, but more dried peel than syrup. Some caramel, but without becoming sweet. Touch of meaty esters, toasted wholemeal bread. Feels better carbonated than it looks. Medium bodied at least, quite slick to oily. Nice - yes, what? Can’t find much "strong" about 6.5%ABV.
Une robe orangée, un nez de caramel ouvert sur du fruits exotiques et du résineux. En bouche il y a un bel équilibre entre le malt et les houblons résineux et fruités, le tout s’étirant dans un final avec une belle amertume.
