3.1 330ml bottle from Beers of Europe, King’s Lynn and drunk on 01/07/2009. A solid dubbel, with some dark malt, and fennel notes. Moderate sweet flavour.

3.6 Beugelfles at home. Reddish dark brush, creamy light beige head. Brown sugar, choco, some dried fruit, faintly herbal, light bitter. Medium body, medium-high carbonation.

2.8 Dark brown with a frothy head. Fruity, spicy smell of roasted malts. Rather sweet malty taste with a chocolate note but not much depth, a bit like a mulled wine without the warming effect.

4.2 Ripe dark fruits. Caramelly. Raisins. Licorice. Cherry. Figs. Sweet. Very quaffable. And... Pretty potent.

4.1 Opaque brown with a thin beige head that dilapidates quickly. Malty aroma. Taste is malts, berry, a distant cinnamon. Quite good.

3.5 Clear dark brown color with medium long lasting off-white head. Aroma has ripe fruits, dark malt, caramel and herbs. Taste is malty with long somewhat bitter and not so sweet aftertaste. Flavors of dark malt, chocolate, dark fruits and grass.

2.7 Licht zurige herfskruidige dubbel met o.a. caramel, anijs gedroogde rozijnen en vijgen. Donkerkruidig maltig zoet met een licht zurende bitter Licht zurig caramel geurend. Donkerbruin met crèmekleurige schuimkraag. Het meest opvallende aan dit biertje is de beugel fles waarin deze dubbel komt. Daar zit 40 cent statiegeld op....en is ook meteen het meest kostbare van deze verder ondermaatse dubbel. Proefglas

3.1 Fles 33cl thuis gedeeld. Caramel, anijs, droog, hazelnoot, fruitje, chocolade, beetje cappuccino. (15-11-2019).

2.9 This is an ok double. Light on the overall mouthfeel and low in alcohol. Nice head when poured. Fruity and medium to low sweet. Ok but not a deal breaker.

3.2 Aroma van karamel, zoethout, anijs, sommige donkere vruchten, kersen, lichte chocolade en subtiele kruiden. Uitzicht: Een robijnrode kleur met een medium beige kop. Smaak: donker fruit, kersen, chocolade, wat bruine suiker, zoethout, licht anijs, een beetje karamel en subtiel kruid. Mondgevoel: Gemiddeld met matig koolzuur. Afdronk is zoetig, fruitig.

3.3 En copa, cerveza casi negra con una muy generosa capa de espuma blanca de buena retención. Aroma a caramelo, cereal tostado, notas de y chocolate, pera, ciruela, levadura y especias. En boca, textura ligera y acuosa, de carbonatación media y amargor muy suave. Sabores sulzones a cereales, caramelo, fruta muy madura como pera y ciruela, especias como regaliz, y un suave fondo de chocolate. Una Dubbel sobresaliente, bien equilibrada y con todos los sabores y aromas completamente integrados.

3.3 Das Double ist ein etwas stärkeres, belgisches Dubbel. Dabei spielen eher die alkoholisch-süßen Aromen den Hauptteil, von Hopfen bitter merkt man fst nicht, dafür hat es eine nette "Würzung" nach weihnachtlichen Gewürzen, wobei diese nicht immer mit dem schweren Malzkörper harmonieren.

3.5 As Durboyse Brune. From the bottle, auburn with a frothy white head that lingers. Aroma is an intoxicating mix of anise, raisins, licorice and tea. Unique and assertive but not intrusive. Taste goes the same direction, sweet, full of anise, herbal, almost medicinal. Body is full, carbonation moderate to mild. Probably a great beer to drink when you have a cold.

3.7 Keg at Den Engel, Leek. A ruby brown colour with a medium beige head. Aroma of caramel, liquorice, aniseed, some dark fruits, cherry, slight chocolate and subtle spice. Taste of dark fruits, cherry, chocolate, some brown sugar, liquorice, slight aniseed, a little caramel and subtle spice. Medium bodied and moderate carbonation. A sweetish, fruity, slightly phenolic finish. Sweet as expected but also spicy. Chocolate, cherry and soft aniseed/phenolic spice is present. Decent.

2.7 Õlle on selline jook, et iga uus kord kui klaasi või pudeli suule tõstad, siis leiad midagi uut, sõltuvalt tuhandest-miljonist pisiasjast, mis hetke olukorda mõjutavad. Seega kirjutan igale õllele selle sama teksti. Hindamiseks teen vaid ticki.

3.0 Bottle. Pours dark ruby with frothy head. Aroma is spicy, phenolic, fruity, dark caramel, dark fruit. Flavour is sweet dark caramel, slightly spicy and phenolic, rather fruity and balanced. Very good.

2.8 Bottle. Brown body, small head. Sweet sugary aroma with dates and brown sugar. Thin and nearly fizzy mouthfeel. Sweet creamy taste with light toastiness, dates and prunes. Finish is too sweet, making it not so easy to drink. Resembles oversweet coffee-candies that try to mimic the real thing. It needs a fuller body and less sweetness to be a good Dubbel.

1.9 Dégustée sous sa forme de Durboyse Brune, bouteille de 33 cl. Une bière presque noire, rappelant un cola par sa couleur et les bulles le long du verre, fluide en bouche avec une bonne effervescence mais un peu fade et sans réelle caractéristique. Point positif, je trouve qu'elle peut sans doute se déguster facilement avec tout type de repas assez riche. Je n'ai pas vraiment eu l'impression de déguster une bière double d’abbaye, mais plutôt une simple bière de table. Je serais curieux de goûter la version Floreffe afin de voir si une différence existe.

3.2 330 ml bottle. A clear dark ruby pour wuth a 2 finger porous off-white head. The aroma was of caramelized cherry, chocolate, dark fruit & malts, cake spiciness. The taste was of sugary cherry, chocolatey tartness, sweet dark malts, anise spiciness. Medium-bodied. Next, please.

3.6 33cl Bouteille Mousse : Fine couche beige, belles dentelles Couleur : Robe brune intense avec quelques reflets acajou Nez : Malt grillé, fruits noirs liquoreux, sucré et note chocolatée. Bouche : Belle douceur, sucre brun, malts torréfiés, liquoreux. Longueur liquoreuse, final assez sec avec quelques tanins et persistance liquoreuse. Avis : Belle, équilibrée, caractère puissant par rapport à son faible titrage, brune Belge simple mais très réussie.
