1.6Bottle from Masuyo in Asagaya. Drank straight from the bottle. Strong apple and sugar aroma. Apple and overly processed sugar flavor with a slight hint of honey. Sourness is evident but muted on the palate. Body is unbalanced and texture isn’t my cup of tea. Not a good beer.
2.1Bottle a light yellow green colored beer with a white head aroma malts apple spicy and some bitters flavor malts apple fruits some sourness sugar and spicy
3.3A nice apple flavored beer one off the best I ever got, but not my kind off pie.
2.5Smell is tart, fresh apples. Pours a light, hazy pale yellow. Taste is tartness, followed by apple sweetness, and a slight lingering hint of caramel. Incredibly light body, very small (almost non-existent) carbonation. You’re better off finding a better apple beer (Lindemans Apple) or just getting cider instead. Not really worth your time.
2.5Pours a slightly cloudy pale straw (paler, actually - SRM 1? 0.5?) with one finger of white head diminishing rapidly to a thin skim, spotty lacing. Nose is apple juice and sweet cider, faint pale malt and wheat. Taste is strongly sweet apple cider and moderate tart with a little doughy yeast. Very light body, moderate sustained carbonation, with an off-dry finish.
Wow... that’s really... something. What, I’m not sure, but I’m sure it’s something. Let’s face it, I knew this wasn’t going to be anything great before I even opened the bottle. And the first whiff of apple juice and sugar didn’t do much to allay those fears. I was further dismayed to see the ingredients list included “apple juice, sugar, flavours”. "Flavours," huh? Good to know… I guess, to be fair, it’s not actually bad. It’s just very sweet and very fake. You know those crappy hard ciders you find in every liquor store? Buy those instead. They’re no worse, but at least they’ll be cheaper.
2.4Bottle from Yamaya. Ripe fresh apple nose. Light hazy honey color, filmyh ead. Apples, some honey, touch of grain, finish is light and sweet. Thin body. Pretty sweet and light. Nice as a fruit drink ... but no thanks.
2.8Pale yellow with soft white foam. Some cloudy sediment in bottle mixes well in the pour. Looks like summer, which sadly passed a week ago. Yeasty apple scent made me double check to see if I had a bottle of cider. Tastes like a sweet cider with a yeast/must back end and bitterish aftertaste which makes me think of an applebutter spread.
1.8Successful apple beer based on witbier. Misty yellow robe, thin snow white head. Aroma dominated by apple juice and sweetened cider, vague maltiness and sourish wheatiness far away in the background; taste likewise, apple, apple juice, apple sauce, apple cider... Ascorbic acid too, making it taste more like lemonade than like beer. I have something against sweet and sugary fruit beers based on witbier and this may have been one of the causes of this depreciation.
2.633 cl. green bottle from ALBO. Consumed @ home. Pours a hazy odd doughy sparkling pale browning yellow with totally chemical, industrial pilsner sinking, egg-white head. Smells like Appletizer, cheap apple candy, apple sorbet & teaspoon of artificial sweeteners. Strange doughy, yeast, almost watery fufu-like structure, leading into lots of artificial sweeteners, light mineral, weak chemical apple-flavour, dough, soapy,… It is more or less what you would expect it, I suppose okay for the people who are looking for something like this but it should have been a bit more Appletizer-like & one is of course way better of getting a Bacardi Breezer.
2.7Bottle with Tomo at Royal Horse Jazz Bar, Osaka. Fragrant apple nose, touch of woody malt. Creamy and a little fizzy. Apple definitely the centre of this, but not too sweet or overbearing. Thirst-quenching, and a little different.
3.0Drank with Masum in Kandinsky 14-7-2014. Beer has a very strong apple-taste. Funny, not like a normal beer. Had to try it. Not that special but fun to have had.
2.6330ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours hazy pale yellow, no head. Aromas of sour apples, sugar. Taste is the same. Sour apple finish too. Thin, no real beer-like qualities, but neither is it a cider. Odd.
2.9330ml bottle pours a hazy blonde color with a huge white head that dissipates quickly leaving some decent lacing on the glass. Aroma is dominated by apples. Taste is apple cider tartness and malty sweetness. Light bodied with good carbonation. Too much fruit in the foreground of this one, I prefer fruit beers that are a little more subtle.
2.533cl bottle from cerveteca lisboa, Lisbon, Portugal. Light gold hazy color. Medium white head. High sweetness. Aroma is pretty much green apples.
2.2Bouteille de 330 ml. Dégustée le 16 août 2008. Bière blonde pâle voilée. Mousse peu, col mince et éphémère. Peu effervescente, bulles moyennes.
2.617/XI/13 - 33cl bottle @ Horeca Expo (Gent) - BB: 23/IV/15 (2013-1082)
Clear straw yellow beer, creamy irregular white head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: lots and lots of green apples. That’s all there’s to it. And it’s not too bad! MF: ok carbon, medium to light body. Taste: lots of green sour apples, and ales very very sugary, green apple candy if you ever tasted that before. Aftertaste: again, green apples, very sugary, sweet, slightly sour. Ok, it’s not too cloying and that’s a good thing, I guess. Probably pretty refreshing in summer.
2.3Tap. Cloudy pale yellow, fine foam. Aroma: apple, malt, cider. Taste: light, refreshing, wheat with apple juice.
3.0Bouteille 330 ml.
2.0I live in the newtonstreet so I had to buy this bottle. Aroma is very artificial sweet green apple. Flavour is beer mixed with appejuice. Better then expexted.
1.2pours clear pale yellow with an almost artifcial green glow, small head, no retention. artificial green apple esters, very much like cheap candies, loads of sugar, splenda *TM, uber-cloying, maybe some cereals, wheat? light cider feel but mostly sugary malt beverage feel. prickly carbonation, light body - feels sticky, no finish, no attenuation. horrid. massive DP.
3.0Sample @ ZBF
Apple, artificial, malty, hay, more aromas when warmer.
Blond with a greenish shine in it. White average head. Fading.
First sweet apple, cider, than more dull grains.
Weak carbo, watery mouthfeel. Sweet fruity but short aftertaste.
It was good, but no beer.
2.4Bouteille 330ml.
2.9tap at anderson ... hazy golden amber ... smells of sour apples from 5 feet away ... thin white head ... fizzy ... again the sour apples sweets .. ok but not beer
On se tanne vite.
2.6Cloudy, thin, not very carbonated. Very strong smell and taste of apples, but not much taste of beer. Strange.
1.5Truely horrible fruit beer. No balance and sickly sweet with a cloying dry aftertaste.
2.2Pale, hazy golden colour, white head. Aroma of sour apple, apple candy (zure appel linten). Very sweet flavour, candy, artificial apple. Artificial apple and loads of sweetness in the finish.
Not my favourite, to say the least.
(Draught @ local bar, Essen)
