Pours dark caramel in colour with a rich foamy head. Cloves, banana and spice on the nose. A well balanced beer with hints of raisin, toffee and gentle warmth of the high ABV hidden behind the hops and full maltiness. I want another.
Aromas a malta, caramelo, fruta, madera. Penetrantes. Translúcida, ámbar, casi marrón y con un dedo de espuma. No parece excesivamente carbonatada.
Sabor mitad dulce y mitad amargo, penetrante en nariz y duradero en el velo del paladar, mucho cuerpo y llenando la boca. Se recomienda beberla lentamente...
Fuerte y ruda, para paladares entrenados. Pero recomendable.

0.75 l bottle. Aroma and taste: strong malty flavor with corn sticks and Madeira tones, also with a touch of citrus, a bit spicy, very warming. Pleasant.
Una delle tante famose ale belga, il colore è ramato e la schiuma è persistente e pannosa. All’olfatto si presenta dolce: i profumi che si avvertono sono di miele, banana, frutta candita, vaniglia e caramello. Al palato si presenta molto pastosa che invade subito e la bocca; il gusto è un mix di sapori quali miele, caramello, frutta e qualche nota speziata che esplodono in bocca dando una sensazione vellutata e nascondo l’alto contenuto alcolico. Soltanto nel finale delicato e pulito si avverte l’alcohol. Molto buona, come del resto tutte le Leffe.
As a strong pale ought to be. A bit boozy, nice mild bubblegum belgian inspired yeast flavours. dark golden, super clean. Quintissential for the style. online savuer bier.

Bon, on ne va pas se mentir.. c’est une bière commercialisée en masse.
Mais... il faut avouer qu’elle se laisse boire. De plus, je fais partie de ceux qui ont découvert les »bonnes bières » en passant par la Leffe Rituel... elle fait donc partie de mon initiation.
Au service , belle bière de type ambrée, avec un col garni généreusement d’une belle mousse blanche, qui retombe très rapidement.
Un nez caramel et banane cuite.
En bouche, pas de surprise, une dominante caramel (donc sucré) et banane cuite.
Les 1ères gorgées sont agréables, ensuite, cette bière devient un peu « lourde ».

Old rating from 05-08-16 - A 330ml bottle brought back from Belgium last summer. Pours a clear copper colour with a medium white head which leaves lacing. Aromas of fruit, caramel, malt, yeast, alcohol and hints of spice. The taste is full and medium sweet, again with fruit including apples, caramel, malt, yeast as well as coriander and a hint of vanilla. The alcohol is fairly well hidden considering it 9.0 ABV.
Je garde un attachement tout particulier à la Leffe Rituel. Cette dégustation m'a d'ailleurs fait rajeunir de plus de 20 années. Alors étudiant, et de culture vinicole, je ne connaissais rien à la bière. Pourtant, mon palais me disait déjà à l'époque de mettre de côté toutes les pils insipide qui avaient pourtant cour autour de moi. Ne me demandez pas comment, mais je tombais un jour sur la Leffe Rituel qui devint ma boisson du moment et qui me fit ensuite poursuivre vers des Maredsous 10 ou Westmalle triple qui sont de tout autre facture. C'est que depuis ce temps mon nombre de découverte est allé crescendo...et il faut tout de même une dose de partialité. Et 20 ans après, il faut avouer que si on reconnait en sous-jacent, le caractère d'un alcool particulièrement bien maîtrisé dans la tradition belge, celui-ci est couvert par une douceur trop présente, couplée à un manque de variation. C'est brut, un peu lourdaud et simplet, et manquant de brillance. Le visuel est tout de même sympathique avec un blond doré soutenu surmonté d'une mousse beige clair de 5 mm d'épaisseur. Le nez est sur une dominante miel, céréales avec une pointe citron. L'attaque est plutôt simple, reprenant les arômes du nez et manque surtout de tension. La deuxième a un peu plus de caractère avec cet alcool à 9% qui essaye difficilement d'émerger de la douceur ambiante. La corpulence est cependant bonne. L'arrière bouche s'empâte quelque peu et le final court est décevant. Malgré ces défauts, j'aurais tout de même eu ma madeleine, et cela n'a pas de prix.

Bronze limpide fine mousse brune très abondante. Arômes café malté caramélisé, girofle, épicé, poire ; légère amertume. Recette déséquilibrée : l'alcool trop présent n'est contrebalancé par aucune saveur.

Sabor a levadura belga, frutas de hueso y oscuras maduras, caramelo o mermelada y vainilla con notas a especias, malta tostada dulce y ligero pan. Dulzor medio-alto y amargor y alcohol medios con regusto medio. Textura acuosa, cuerpo y carbonatación medios. Una Strong Belgian Ale clásica y moderada, de sabor redondeado y sin riesgos con alcohol bien camuflado.
250ml bottle brewed in Belgium at 9%. Clear tawny orange-gold with a good sized, large-bubbled head, so-so duration. Mildly swimming-bath aroma with some faintly Belgian sweetness. Lowish carbonation, somewhat thick texture. Sweet in the Leffe style but less so than their typical offerings; easier drinking (despite the ABV). Some definite caramel notes, perhaps faint banoffee pie too. Kinda straightforward, but still one of Leffe's better beers, with no added sugar, and very smooth drinking for 9%, while not being as overpoweringly sweet as most of their fare. Best served at the recommended 5 degrees celsius (really) and slowly sipped, some faint fleshy white grape notes appear as the beer warms, along with some clove. Bottle 9 months past Best Before, for whatever that's worth.

Pours a slightly hazy copper brown colour with a medium to large sized thick creamy off-white head. Aromas of bananas and cloves, caramel and brown bread. Taste is more bananas, cloves, caramel, bread, brown sugar, added hints of vanilla, spice and a little warming alcohol. Full bodied with a lovely smooth sticky mouthfeel. it has the same characteristics as the leffe blonde and bruin but on steroids. it is as good or even better than i had hoped for. A little on the sweet side but overall a great tasty beer.
Ale de Abadía. Una de las mejores leffe que he probado. Marrón claro. Poca espuma y aroma. Dulce equilibrado a malta. Retrogusto ligerisimamente amargo. No ahumado. No está mal.
Bright golden color, good head. Yes, there it is, the typical Leffe smell. Bubble gum, vanilla, yellow fruits, sweets. The taste is an extension of the smell. Nicely balanced, the high alcohol contents is nicely masked. Smooth, creamy. A bit sweet, but quite good.
Voll im Geschmack. Typisch belgisches blondes Bier. Gute süße, Alkohol nicht spürbar. Somit ist mein Gefühl. Perfekt

Bottle from BeerRitz. It pours clear deep amber - brown with a thick, fluffy off - white head. The aroma is sweet, sticky, toasty grain, cereal, cracker, toffee, very sweet ripe banana, banana split, nougat, vague hint of smoke (?!) and malt loaf. The taste is rather sweet, sugary, sticky, oily, toothy, banana split, banana cake, candy, dollop of warming booze and s nip of spice with a toothy ol' finish. Medium-full body, moderate foamy carbonation and sticky mouth - feel. I. Bit sweet for my liking, but has a good boost to it. Gets the job done for sure.
Sterk schuimend zwaar blond bier met o.a. mais als ingrediënt. Meer bitter dan zoet.
