Leffe Bière d'Hiver / Winterbier

Leffe Bière d'Hiver / Winterbier

Previous sold as: "Leffe Bière de Noël / Kerstbier"

With its amber color, fruity and spicy bouquet, and its creamy foam, Leffe Biere de Noel is a beer full of character. Very expected during the holiday season, it continues the tradition of master brewers who kept their best barley and hops to brew once a year. Leffe Biere de Noel makes your aperitif a moment of intense flavor.

3.3 Bottle. Color: Clear orange amber to copper, yellowish off-white head. Aroma: Malty, caramel malt, hoppy hints. Taste: Sugary, caramel malt, bit grainy, hints of citrus hop. Medium body, average carbonation. Ok beer for the mass, but no excitement.
3.8 Aroma; half dark malts, sappy syrup, wood, fudges, soil, sweet yeast, sweet grain. Look; good tall off white yellowish head, on near clear amber copperish body. Taste; half dark malts, sappy syrup, wood, fudges, soil, sweet yeast, sweet grain, chocolate note, and soft dark fine broad malted finish. Feel; good body and fine co². Overall; decent vienna and likeable. Not too much belgian floral yeadt. [from a bottle "Leffe De Noël", b@ vacation, T@home cave o' PivotekaH7].
3.2 Toffee flavor with some Belgian spices dark fruits and some coffee in the background. Sweet flavors all around. Somewhat thin body with lots of Belgian hops in the finish and aftertaste.
2.5 Heavy foam and an aroma of dark caramel malt and lightly toasted malt. The taste is sweet with many notes of dried fruit. Furthermore, it has a slight taste of coffee and also a little smoke malt. There is no distinct taste of the familiar Christmas spices and on the whole it is a somewhat entangled beer with a good taste. I could well miss a little nuanced bitter hops in the aftertaste to balance the sweetness.
3.2 God smag men lidt tung
2.7 Bottle. Dark brown with a rather frothy beige head. Caramel and malt aroma. Sweet malt flavour with some bitterness. Palate seems rather thin.
1.1 Perfect Draft. Leffe undertones, hard going.
3.4 33cl bottle from local Carrefour store in Bruxelles, drinking it on 25/07/2021 BB 11/10/21 Pours dark brown/amber with good creamy, not too large off-white head on top and quite good lacing. Aroma of malt, caramel, toffee, spices. Taste is quite warm and high sweet with notes of malt, caramel, candi sugar, nutty, dried fruits, yeasty. Could be more spicy and deep flavored but it's not bad at all, pretty sweet and warm instead, easy drinking and very welcome. Just slightly watery, good 6.6% abv. Medium body and really smooth, moderate carbonation. Could be done better for the style but not bad and would gladly have much more, appreciated.
3.5 Dark, too strong and sharp
3.3 Old rating from 2017 - 330ml bottle brought back from Belgium. Pours red / brown with a white head. Aromas & tastes of caramel, spices, dried fruits, toffee, cinnamon, nuts, plums, bread, earth & flower hops. Medium body. Sweet mild bitter finish
3.2 Clear dark amber. A good light beige head. Aroma: Malt drink, toffee, nutty, tobacco. Also a fruity yeast profile. Mouth: Quite sweet with only a moderate astringency. Moderately bitter. Moderate carbonation. Medium body.
2.5 Old note, for counting purpose only : A leffe, winter style... Well it's a no.
3.7 Een echte Leffe. Lekker licht bruin biertje met een goede afdronk.
3.4 330ml bottle from Trembling Madness. Clear, nutty brown with a foamy of white head. Aroma is sweet caramel, slightly floral. Flavour is malty caramel, a little dried fruit and maybe a little spice
3.8 330ml bottle brewed in Belgium at 6.6%. Fairly clear ruby-brown with a generous, decent duration head. A little cocoa and caramel in the aroma, with that slight Leffe 'swimming bath' feel. Low carbonation. Sweet, chocolate syrup, slight caramel and red berry, a little leafiness and milky cocoa in the finish. Quality brew from Leffe, well worth trying - although as typical for their beers, mainly sweet, and doesn't convey much of the potential spiciness.
3.2 Clear red/brown beer with a thick frothy head. Smell is light, slightly bready, a bit of caramel. Flavour has fruit, caramel, a little spice, malt. It's decent enough and I imagine if you like Leffe's stuff you'll like this but it's nothing special and has a slightly watery feel and finish which is unfortunate and surprising for the strength.
3.5 Chestnut brown pour with a light froth. Aroma; slight hints of caramel. Taste; malt, sweet, winter spice make up the main pallete Nice spiced winter ale!
3.4 Dark brown beer, firm head. Smell is typically Leffe. A bit more dull, some brown sugar. Not very intense. Flavours start similar. Then some roasted bready malty notes. Slightly spicy, some distant caramel, laurel and earthy notes. Some dark chocolate bitterness finish. Warming. Quite some layers, though not greatly balanced. Nice winter ale, not very exciting.
3.3 Dark ruby colour with foamy off-white head. Smell of malt, pine and cloves. Taste of malt, caramel, pine and hints of orange. Smooth and easy to drink.
3.1 Clear brown ale apparel with a bubbly off white head. Biscuity, caramel, gingerbread spices, cola aroma. Over medium sweet and softly bitter in the back end. Medium bodied with equal carbonation. Okay, not a bad beer.
3.0 Bottle @ Friends/Dr yeast + Maltkings. Appearance: pours clear amber with ok off-white soapy head and lacing. aroma/taste: barley, bread, brown sugar, light dried fruit, light spices, light orange peel, light chocolate and grassy notes. palette: medium malty and yeasty aroma, light to average carbonation, medium body, average to notable sweetness, somewhat balanced by light to medium bitterness, average duration, semi-sweet finish and a watery texture. Overall: ok sweet seasonal
3.3 Bottle, as Leffe de Noël. Pours slightly hazy amber with stable off-white head. Clear aroma of malt, caramel and yeast, with touches of cloves and cinnamon. Seeetish and spicy flavour of caramel malt, yeast, cinnamon, cloves and yeast, with bitter touches of hops. Estery and spicy aftertaste. Reasonable but nothing special for the style.
3.5 Bottle. 6.6%. Best before 13.10.21. As ’Leffe Bière de Noël’. Pours a clear, deep golden/amber, with a light tan head. Great lacing, if bit dishwash-y. Fruity, yeasty aroma, with light a light caramel malt note, a tart/yogurt-y hint, and a remote smoked note. Light veggie note, remote hints of vanilla as it warms. Flavour is sweetish, a bit sugary, on a fruity, light malty background. Light yeast. Spicy note as it warms. Somewhat spicy finish, sweet(ish)/sugary, with a yeast note. Lingering veggie hint. Overall okay, maybe a bit generic. The sweetness and spicy notes are what makes it. 30.10.20.
3.2 Bottle, 6.6%. Brown sugar aroma, spicy. Clear dark brown colour. Stable frothy white head. The flavour is a lot like the aroma, quite sweet with some brown sugar and a nice spicy note.
3.4 Dark brown beer, small head. Aroma is cloves, malt, spices, smoke, sweet. Taste is the same, bittersweet, spicey, gingerbread, not bad for a leffe
