3.9Dark red color, modest head. Typical Leffe smell - full, sweet. Complex fruityness, malty, a hint of bubblegum. Less pronounced than some other Leffe beers however. The taste is similar. Some liquorice, caramel and ashy notes as well. Complex. Seems to be a bit of a more 'serious' version of the otherwise playful blonde Leffe beers. The adult version as you wish ;) Quite nice.
3.8Amber colored ale with a white head. It has a hoppy fruit aroma with notes of apple, yeast, coriander and citrus. Strong but not overwhelming. Nice.
3.8Bottle. Pours clear brown with a medium, frothy beige head, long retention. Moderate rich caramel and toasted bread malt, dates, figs, and light alcohol warmth and a medium sweet finish. Full body and moderate carbonation.
3.0Aroma : Toasted sweet caramel & bready malt, some sharp raspberry/cherry & flowery hoppiness. Taste : As aroma, with some citic & alcohol burn in the finish which nicely offsets some of the sweetness
3.4Pours dark amber colour with a tan head. The aroma is fruity and the flavour is like malt, fruit, caramel. Not the greatest mouthfeel, felt a bit bitter and watery at the same time. Beer's 1000th review!
3.5330ml bottle from Beers of Europe and drunk on 28/07/2006. This one was a bit different. Quite a bright amber colour and with a large amount of berry and currants in the flavour.
3.80.33 bottle
C: reddish dark copper
N: red berries, caramel, orange peel
P: fruity, berries, orange, well balanced malty sweetness, alcohol well hidden. Great balance with a fruity twist.
3.5Another good beer from "Anheuser-Busch" brewery.. No doubt about that.. This beer is very powerful with a lot of explosion in your mouth.. That because the carboration is in high levels. Also the beer is very very spicy and dry with some kind short bitter finish direction.. If you like spicy beers, this is for you.. Unfortunately i'm not big fan for spicy beers and that is the problem here for me..
Overall an ok beer to drink but the high alcohol level 8.2% with the spicy notes not help me to buy again this beer..
3.5PPT, Gembloux - 09/07/2017
3.4330ml glass bottle from Drink of Fulham. Bought for £5.75, dated as best before 09/07/2020. Served in an oversized wine glass having been warming to warm temperature for about 15 minutes.
The beer pours a caramel tinted copper. Clear with red edges when held up to the light. A few streams of small bubbles. The loose head measure about a four from fingers but quickly dissipated to a thick wedge. Bubbles of extreme variation in size, honeycomb in colour. From a purely aesthetic point of view the lacing left down the inside of the glass is beautiful.
As par for many a strong ale alcohol is a noticeable presence in the aroma. Sweet caramel malt, candid orange are first on the nose. Dark dark forest fruit followed by herbal esters. Very complex on the nose.
On the tastebuds the beer is unbalanced. Sweet hard snapping caramel, prune, black/dark purple grapes. Herbal bitterness. Slight medicinal taste. Some of the taste just don’t feel as if they work together as well as other complex beers of the style.
Slightly forgettable on the tongue. Slightly sticky on the lips. Low-medium body. Slight sweetness from the forest fruit and caramel tastes, but nothing too long lasting. Not something my mouth will be reminding me of tomorrow morning.
Overall, a good beer. Nice look and aroma. A bit more average on the taste and the mouthfeel. Though I’d happily drink again, especially if I found it available locally and at a lower price.
3.5Pours a dark amber with ample carbonation. Aromas of tarty malt, herbs, stone fruit and other interesting notes. Flavour is in not bad balance, perhaps a little too much of a concentrated bitterness. Aftertaste is of herbs, yeast, bread and general bitterness. Not as bad as everyone says!
4.1Tasted while vacationing in Portugal. 33-ml bottle purchased in a grocery store in Luz. It pours clear copper with a 1" creamy beige head along with residual lacing. Aroma: caramel, dark dried fruit. Flavor: caramel, toffee, raisins, figs, dates, molasses bread, coriander. Mouthfeel: medium-bodied, somewhat slick
3.8Ale belga de abadía. Espuma media que desaparece. Ambar oscuro. Carbonatación baja. Sabor equilibrado, malta, afrutada ligeramente, ligeramente alcohol.
2.3Dark amber appearance with a fast dissipating head.
Smell of orange, spicy taste. Dryness in the aftertaste.
4.0Aroma suave , sabor intenso y liviano.
3.8Vermelho acobreado. Aroma de mel, frutas secas vermelhas e negras. Bom corpo, amargor intenso sem excesso.
4.1330 ml bottle. Bought in www.casadelacerveza.cl, Very Good thick head, and uncommon brown deep color. Classic belgium smell, great, flowers, cherry, cream. For a mass produced beer it tastes fantastic. Complex taste of grapes, almonds, but not excesive. Aftertaste just in the right time. Great beer, best Leffe i've tasted.
4.0Cerveza ambar con mucho cuerpo y color intenso.
Buen nivel de espuma y sabor equilibrado
4.533 cl. flaske. 8,2 %. Rødbrun øl. Glimragende øl endnu engang fra Leffe. 🍺🍺
Aroma dulzón a cereales, fruta madura, y notas a frutos rojos.
3.6N: malto,caramello
G: dolce, caramello
