1.7 33cl bottle. Clear dark amber color with white head. Aroma has melassis, Taste is watery, over carbonated for style, some slight cardboard and yeast.
2.5 Bottle picked up at Eroski, Gibraltar. Pours bright mid brown with a small off-white head. Aroma of malt, caramel, alcohol, touch of chocolate. Medium to heavy sweetness, light bitterness. Medium body, oily but watery texture, soft carbonation. Not a great one.
3.1 Cerveza correcta.
3.2 Bottle at the holiday villa, Abades, Tenerife. Amber with no bubbles and an offwhite head. Sweet malt, nice yeast presence, light caramel and sweet grain, light spices and touch of lemon. Floral honey. Moderate sweet and bitter. Medium body and low carbonation. Spiced bittersweet caramel finish. Also very Belgian inspired, but it’s getting somewhere. Or maybe it’s hope I’m tasting.
3.2 Beer with good taste, gold color, medium body, some foam in the top, medium bitterness, soft carbonized, (bought a 33cl bottle in El Corte Inglés, Madrid, ES).
2.8 How: Bottle. Where: Alcampo, Torrevieja. Appearance: Amber colour with an off-white head. Aroma: Caramel, hops, malt, fruit. Body: Medium body and carbonation. Flavour: Malt, hops, some spices, caramel.
Ambarada. Muy rica pero no hay que pasarse.
2.1 At home. Tulip glass. 27/05/16. Gift from my parents - the most interesting looking beer they could see in a Spanish supermarket. Looks flat. Dark amber. Pungent vegetable aroma. Doesn’t really taste like a Belgian beer. Going back to the flat theme, I’d compate the tate and palate to a flat lager. Not interesting. Not offensive.
2.7 330ml Flasche. Klar und dunkelbraun mit kleiner Schaumkrone. Würzige Röstaromen. Leicht Mazig. Körper eher leicht.
2.1 33 cl. bottle@ the apartment in Corralejo, Fuerteventura, bought @ a local supermarket. Clear copper colour with a thin white head. Malty caramel aroma. Sweet taste with some traces of smoke in the finish. Overall too boozy, sweet and rough to be truly enjoyable.
2.3 0.33 l bottle. Deep amber-light brown color, no head. Sweet, alcoholic aroma and taste with alcoholic finishing. Leaves a dry feeling in the mouth. Soft carbonation, medium body. The too much alcohol in the taste ruins it for me.
2.8 Los Cristianos, Tenerife. 33 cl bottle from Mercadonas. Drawing of Monastery to underline that this is "the first Spanish Abbey ale". Poulsen clear amber with off-white head. Settles as thin layer of foam. Quite a lot of lacing on the side of thde glass. Aroma has a little Belgian touch with some notes of yeast. Caramel, brown sugar and a little butter. Medium carbonation and slightly thick palate. Taste is sweet with notes of caramel and Brown sugar. Followed by light bitterness supplemented by notes of alcohol. Looks quite beautiful. But dissapoints a little when it comes to smell and taste. It takes more than a Monastery to make a Belgian ale.
2.8 Bottle. Clear golden amber colour, white head. Aroma caramel malt, some fruity notes, sweet, some floral hop tones, slightly metallic. Taste is mostly caramel, a bit apples in taste, slightly metallic, alcohol in taste, decreases drinkability, bitter in the aftertaste.
3.1 Flasche 0,33l: Kupfer, klar, kräftiger fester feinporiger Schaum; in der Nase sehr süß und sehr würzig, süßes Bockbier, stark malzig, Malzzucker, Lebkuchenteig, Schokolade; im Körper kräftige Süße, sehr würzig, cremig, deutliche Kohlensäure, Malzzucker, Röstaromen, dunkle Früchte; angenehmer würzig-süßer Nachgang
2.7 Clear medium amber to brown body with a very large, fairly creamy off-white head. Good lacing. Moderate to strong aroma of pale malts, it’s quite lager-ish despite some nice traces of spicy Belgian yeast. Strong flavour of pale malts, with a lager-like hoppy bite, plus some more interesting hints of Belgian yeast and spices. Light sweet taste with a moderate bitterness. A bit sharp mouthfeel, light on the palate, fairly lively carbonated. Feels like a 50/50 mix of Heineken and Leffe Blonde. Strange. [33 cl bottle enjoyed in my hotel room, from SuperCOR Exprés, Calle Vallehermoso, Madrid]
1.5 Really bad beer. Awful aroma: notes from oxidation, vegetables... In mouth, sour is present. Watery sensation. Horrible abbey beer.
1.0 Copper amber color with minimal head and not very pleasant smell. Taste so vulgar.
2.8 Bottle@jeppe Santa Anne. One finger foam. Dark golden. Malty sweet. Fruity esters. Clean. Low body. A bit boring.
3.2 Bottle. Quite drinkable. Full malty flavour, caramelly, toffee, toasted. Only light oxidation, but not very disturbing. Overall a pleasant beer considering where it comes from.
2.4 33cl Flasche. Kastanienfarben mit wenig luftigem Schaum. Röstmalz und Karamell Noten. Geschmack röstig und süß. Fast etwas rauchig.
1.6 From Carrefour. In Legado de Yuste glass. Watching Breaking Bad 5x01.MG! This an abbey beer? Any monk would be ashamed of this junk. Brewing this is probably be unholy, a sin. Seems like a bad sweet macro lager
2.4 25 cl bottle bought in Lisbon.Amber colour with nice head.Toasted malt and caramel taste.I hate beers that contain sugar and I’m guessing that this sugar was not intended for bottle fermentation.Meh
2.2 Spanish beer you can drink catch you without a stomach illness. Beer industrial pretension that stays in the middle, but unlike others Spanish beers can be seen quietly.
2.6 Color bronce, ligeramente tostada y aroma a caramelo.
2.7 Bottle from local supermarket on Mallorca, Spain. The beer has got a hazy golden colour with a steady head and medium body. Aroma of Belgian yeast andd hops. Taste of hops, Belgian hops, yeats, flowers and mild fruits. Eas drinkable, solid, yet nothing special.
