Diese wohl weltweit einzigartige, mystische Bierspezialität wird von uns mit Holzfeuer und glühenden Urgesteinen gebraut. Durch den Einsatz teurer Spezialmalze bekommt es seine magisch anmutende Farbe. Naturtrüb, mit frischer Bierhefe und kräftigen Schaum. Malzaromatisch, dezent fruchtig-süßlich sein Aromaprofil. Sein Trunk: Vollmundig, malzig-rund, gepaart mit einer zartbitteren Hopfennote. Aufgemerkt!

Bottle from Beer and Beyond, Wimbledon. BBE Nov 2021; Drank July 2021 - Clear orangey gold. Good white head. Heavily malty, caramel, bready, grainy. Dried fruit notes. Lightly hoppy, grassy. Sweet. Easy drinking. Fine. (2021-07)
Aroma of grain straw, malty base and hoppy touches. Taste is semi dryish with a bit raw herbal hoppiness on the palate. There's a bit of spicy background, but it reminds me some kellerbier/zwickel/otherwise – any German classic beer. In the long run – impressive, like it very much – I was positively surprised.
Cloudy pale brown, whispy head. Minimal aroma - raisin. To taste, dried winter fruit, raisin, toffee, biscuit, banana, a touch watery in the finish. Drunk at Leigh and Toby's house, from the Bullfinch Brewery..
Аромат солодовый, сразу какая то немнго сладкая и уникальная нотка от солода, как будто немного жаренный с намеком на кофе. Само зерно на месте. Цвет полу темный, пенка средняя. Вкус приятный и питкий. Снова эта сладкая нотка, правда немного напоминает камни, как оно и делается. Немного сладкие нотки в послевкусие. Пиво питкое и приятное, хотя горчинка есть не к месту.
Enfin la fameuse Steinbier que je souhaitais goûter depuis un moment. Cela ressemble beaucoup à une honnête Amber, c'est maltée et caramélisée, peut être un peu fumée mais cela reste très léger. Technique de brassage impressionnante en tout cas même si le résultat final n'est pas à la hauteur de cette particularité.
Karamel kleur met een goede kraag. Ruikt moutig, zoetig. Smaakt zacht zoetig. Zachte afdronk.

Body: Medium body, low carbonation.

Goudblond bier met voldoende koolzuur. Geur hooi, zurig. Smaak graan, karamel, citrus, kruidig, water. Medium wat droog mondgevoel. Nasmaak zoetzuur, peper?
Bottle. StarmoreBoss, Sheffield. Opaque deep orange gold with a dense, lasting, semi lacing, glossy topped, just off white, soft foam. Couldn’t look any better. Nose has honeyed grain. Sugar Puffs. Leafy hop. Heavy on the fruity yeast. Taste has an initial sweetness followed up by leafy, peppery spice bitterness. Smooth and massaging on the palate. Short bitterness on the finish. Great logger.
500ml bottle from the Offie, Leicester and drunk at home. Dark brownish gold, translucent with a light ring of off-white head. Caramel notes in the aroma, light dried grass notes. Nice balanced taste, some initial sweetness leading to a drier finish. Toffee and a touch of stone fruit in the aftertaste. Body is watery with medium to high carbonation. Fairly bland but easy drinking.
Intense amber, a bit hazy. Medium sized, quite dense head, the slightest off-white. Ok retention and very nice lacing. Good enough intensity in a simple, straightforward aroma: doughish/white bread base, strong caramel, a fruity whiff. Taste notes follow the aroma. The beer is undoubtedly sweet but never over the top, with a quite dry and clean finish. Light to medium bodied with average carbonation. Mouthfeel is slightly fuller than your typical german lager but still pretty easy, with high drinkability. Overall a simple, enjoyable, caramelish lager.
Optisch trüb, schöne Farbe. In der Nase ziemlich frech, fast plädderich. Macht es im Trunk aber wett, wirklich schöne Karamell-Noten. Leikeim kriegt die Kurve, ein grauenvolles Pils, aber schöne Kellerbiere.
Pours hazy amber with a tall white head. Aroma is caramel, malt, grain, slightly alcoholic. Taste is medium sweet, fruity, caramel, bread, a little boozey. A strongish Kellerbier.
Una cerveza muy interesante y refrescante. Es una de mis favoritas cuando voy a ese lugar, de hecho es el único lugar donde la he conseguido.
Aspecto: cerveza color dorado profundo (no ámbar ni tostado como mencionan otras clasificaciones). Hermosos 2 dedos de espuma beige con burbuja media y persistente. Se observa poca carbonatacion y una turbidez natural típica de la cerveza sin filtrar.
Aroma: Al acercar la nariz se precipitan los aromas a galleta y pan ligeramente tostado. Un lúpulo herbal se aprecia luego de varios tragos y que la cerveza tome temperatura. Los más notorio y distintivo, es un aroma de tipo mineral que indefectiblemente nos recuerda al aroma a piedra mojada que notamos siempre a la vera de un río.
Al paladar: Cerveza de cuerpo medio, muy bebible y de final dulce. Leve retrogusto especiado.
Sabor: El principal sabor que encontramos es el dulzor de la malta. Al menos tirada, no se perciben ni aromas ni sabores tostados o caramelizados, sino más bien un sabor granular redondo, galletitas dulces y un sabor tipo mineral proveniente de las piedras utilizadas en el proceso. Esto es lo que realmente la hace única.
Espero poder encontrar una botella para ver que tan distintas son.
Bien non filtrée...gout relativement neutre qui se laisse boire sans problème.
"Leikeim Original Steinbier", Flasche von Getränke Hoffmann, Berlin. - Goldbraun, trüb. - In der Nase warmes Karamelmalz von deutlicher weicher Süße, reife Frucht, Aprikosenkonfitüre, Toastbrot, milder herbaler Hopfen und vielleicht ein Hauch von Rauch. - Antrunk hefeweich und füllig karamelmalzig, satt malzsüß, mit matter herber Frucht und einem Hauch von Rauch. Verwaschene herbale Hopfenherbe. Milder rezent, vollmundig. Im Abgang stumpfe, blasse Herbe. Leerer Nachtrunk. - Hefeweiches, süßes, zu schwach gehopftes Märzen. Von den "glühenden Steinen" ist kaum was zu schmecken - ein recht gewöhnliches Bier. (10.7.2020.)
Bottle from Bier Gibt Hier. Smell of caramel, malts. Similar taste. Slight boozy touch. Tastes stronger then it is. Low bitterness. Sweet. Drinkable but Im not a fan, hard to finish the whole 50 cl bottle.
the aroma is malty and floral with hints of grain, flowers, buckwheat and some herbs... the taste is malty and floral with notes of grain, honey, flowers and some grasses... the aftertaste is dry and bitter...
Ein Bier, das mit heißen Steinen im Sud gekocht wird. Somit karamellisiert ein Teil der Würze und das Bier erhält einen fein-malzigen Hintergrund. So die Theorie und das ist auch ganz gut gelungen, wenn ich auch sagen muss, dass der Effekt jetzt nicht die über-drüber-Wirkung hat.
Es ist ein schön karamellmalziges Bier, das nicht zu pickig-süß ist und einen schönen kräuterigen Beigeschmack hat, auch wenn es nicht so speziell schmeckt.

Color ambarino, corona de espuma blanca aromas caramelo, maltosa, sabor dulce, caramelo, cuerpo sedoso. Agradable.
Notering från baklogg vid Örebro öl och wiskymässa 2019. Ljust bärnstensfärgad vätska med tunt skum. Lätt sädig maltdoft. Mjäkig, söt, lätt, fadd smak.
Ar: Clean toasted malt; slight herbal, licorice hops. Ap: Amber-orange and clear; large very-light tan head with good retention, settling slowly as a dense, gooey cap of foam. T: Toasted malt; a very slight hint of sherry; low sweetness; clean malt profile; bitterness is medium-low, with herbal and anise hop flavors; some caramel; a bit of chalk; finish is licorice and more toasted malt. M: Medium-light body with high carbonation; finis is dry. O: A nice amber lager; caramel flavor seems a bit out of place, but overall it is clean, tasty, and quenching.
Darker amber/orange color with a stable moderate sized head. Rather hazy. Scent of toasted malt and some raw grains. Light sweet start with some lightly toasted malt and a bit of herbal hops. Really only tastes like an amber to me. They either didn't heat the stone up much or used a really small one, as I don't catch any heavy caramelized to "burnt" malt tones. Not a bad beer, just not much of a Steinbier.

decent beer. has the character of a fine pale lager. fairly heavy. overall, a nice summer beer.
Bottle from Grocery Outlet. Very hazy medium amber in colr with a decent sized head. Malty up front with a little creamy bread. Toast hops in there. Somewhat earthy in flavor. Mild hops in the finish.
Aus der Pulle. Riecht süßlich malzig. Milder Antrunk mit floralen Aromen. Brotig, angenehme Süße. Prickelnd carbonisiert. Nichts besonderes, kann man dennoch gut wegziehen
[Bamberg 2018] 500 ml. bottle sampled @ Café Abseits. Orange. Nose is quite sweet orange, oily, toffee as to be expected. Sweet orange peel, candy, toffee, oily very basic bit dull but fair, far from best stone beer I have had.
Tried hard to find this beer among so many other Leikeim products in several stores in Germany, but ended up getting a bottle in a tiny supermarket in Brazil. New label, kinda camp. This beer ended up being a nice surprise, after so many disappointments with iconic German brands. It's cloudy amber with a creamy white head. Malts and biscuits on the nose and flavour, some mineral bitterness, not at all unnatural or too chemical. Medium bodied, very pleasant concoction.
