Leinenkugels Apple Spice

Leinenkugels Apple Spice

The leaves - at the height of their color, but before the inevitable fall. And the apples - ripe for the picking, and the absolute peak of their flavor. It's this moment that you'll find captured in our new Leinenkugel's Apple Spice. We take the fresh, delicious taste of real apples - as crisp as the first bite off the tree - and add just a touch of cinnamon for a hint of spice. The result is a mouthwatering blend that's perfect for sharing with friends. It's flavor to the core.

We use over 2000 pounds of apples in every brew.

3.7 Bottle. Body-looks like a pale lager-gold and foamy. Nose-smells like apple cinnamon carpet freshener/potpourri, a great smell for a pie or carpet, but odd for a beer. Taste-apple, cinnamon, medium sweet, tastes like a delicious candy or pie. I will rate I from a straight “how does this substance taste” kind of approach, not as a beer. It is quite delicious. This is what you would get if light beer, apple pie, and potpourri fucked and had a baby.
2.9 It tastes a lot like apple cider. Not a bad beer (if you can call it that) on a cold winter night, but it’s nearly impossible to drink more than one of these.
3.3 Has good apple taste real similar to cider. I try to get this every fall and hope that I bought enough for the year.
3.2 Bottle. Pours a golden color with a nice white head that fades away. Aroma is of apple and cinnamon. The taste is similiar. Has a real nice mouthfeel and lingering aftertaste. Goes down easy and is pretty smooth. Overall, this is a pretty tasty brew that is fairly priced and could be consumed in mass quantities far too easily.
2.7 Very thin foamy head on this brew, and the beer itself is slightly cloudy and pale yellow. It smells like apples, and something else, but I can’t really tell what it is. It reminds me of the apple beer (non-alcoholic) I had as a kid, but with a spicy finish and less sweetness. It finishes nicely, but the tartness makes me want to barely sip it, not really drink it, at least not without food. It doesn’t taste like a beer, but it’s decent.
2.5 12oz bottle. Mild cloudy yellow with thin foamy head. Aroma is of heavy apples with a touch of cinnamon. Wow an apple beer… tastes like apples. Mild tart dry finish, semi-mouth stripping. It accomplishes what it was aiming for, but just not up my alley.
2.3 Leinenkugel went a little far with the spices for their Apple Spice. It is also very sweet which is a downfall for me. a sub-par beer.
2.2 Pale gold with an average head. Strong smells reminds me a the ready mix cider that you can buy. You could definitely chug this stuff down because it drinks more like an apple soda than a beer.
4.5 it def could be compared to woodchuck, but i felt that this was much better....my buddy picked up a 6er of alot of leinenkugels products in kansas...up until then id only had sunset wheat...this was a great beer i thought...but that only bad thing is that it didnt taste like beer...great to drink with a warm bowl of chili iin the winter or fall
2.8 12 oz bottle thanks to the fridge. Clear straw color with small white head. Aroma is like cinnamon apples sauce, spice, not unlike a sweet cider. Very sweet apple juice with bitter malt finish, cinnamon, not good, not bad. Big carb, creamy, chalky, medium body. Gets a little strange as it warms up.
2.5 Ok for fall and winter time. Has a very distinct cider taste which makes it attractive for a campfire late in the season. Clear golden pour and sour aroma.
3.0 nice in theory. good aroma and appearanance, but just falls short. much better off getting a woodchuck.
2.6 Ummm... clear golden pour, no visible carbonation or head. Green apple aroma. Ciderish taste, not all that sweet, some cinnamon. Bit funky on the back end, but it is what it is.
2.9 12 oz bottle. People like to rag on Leinie’s since they are owned by Miller, but they make pretty good "intro" beers. This pours a bright light yellow with a thin white head. Spicy apple aromas which are backed up by the flavor. A little too sweet, but the cinnamon flavors help. Its actually not that bad.
2.2 watery yellow pour with a very strong apple scent. tastes like watered down apple cider.
2.2 Bottle. Candied apple and malt aroma. Pale yellow color with small head. Sweet cinnamon and apple malt flavor. Tastes like spiced cider so delivers what it claims.
1.9 Golden, enriched urine yellow with rocky white head, mostly diminishing. Aroma! Let me tell you about the aroma... Skunky with an apple cinnamon flavor, almost as if Pepe le Pew regurgitated a box full of Apple Jacks. The beer is acidic with a bit of sweetness. The aftertaste is a very dry apple core. Carbonaion is very crisp, like a hard cider, which is nice. Overall, if Leinenkugel wanted to make a hard cider, why didn’t just do it instead of this mish-mash of styles.
3.4 Pours clear orange/yellow with a very small, fizzy white head. Nose is carbonation, apple, and cinnamon. Flavor of cinnamon and very strong apple... almost an apple cider. Very easy to drink. Actually pretty fun.
2.3 Bottle. Pours a light amber color with almost no head at all. Aroma of apples and spices like a cider. Plenty of carbonation. Has the flavor of spices, cider. Big apple taste. No bad and easy to drink but one was all I wanted.
5.0 the best leinies beer made so much apple and spice flavor to bad its not avalible longer period of time
3.8 (Body - Clarity) isClear - sparkling, normal, flat. (Body) light-medium. This is great winter beer near the fire. IF you enjoy ciders and want to try something different, go for this. Hey, it only comes once a year.
3.5 when i was drinking this, it didnt even feel like i was drinking a beer at all... i even had it with my breakfast the next morning...
1.0 Thick, syrupy, cheap chemically cinnamon-flavor with overwhelming apple blandness. They couldn’t find an apple with any tartness? Coating aftertaste. Bad.
3.2 It smelled and tasted like apples, and that’s the point. It’s not gonna get you drunk, and it’s not great with many food items....drink this ’beer’ when you really want apple juice.
4.0 Great fruit beer. Aroma is very pleasant. Reminds me of apple cider. Apples, cinnamon, dough. Pours pale golden but no head. Very sweet flavor and finishes crisp and clean. I really enjoyed it.
1.8 Bottle. Actually, the aroma is mildly pleasant: Cinnamon, bread dough and granny smith apple. Pours pale gold with virtually no head. Flavor tastes like rotten apples with some cinnamon and sugar thrown in. Some off the mark bread dough notes as well. Crisp and light on the tongue. Starts promising, but severely misses the mark in the flavor department.
3.6 Probably the best fruit beer I’ve ever had. Aroma was perfect. All apples. Pour was a light gold with no head or bubbles. Taste was sweet and apple-y with some heavy spices and a nice crisp aftertaste. I could drink this all year ’round.
3.4 Bottle at Charlie’s in Mankato. Pours golden with a head that retains. The aroma is of apple cider. The flavor is of fizzy apple cider. It married great with the salty smoked ham I was having during brunch. I really enjoyed this and found it quite refreshing. Not a bad effort.
2.3 Bottle, Strong apple aroma, with a long lasting whtie head, a lot of carbonation. Taste of apples, some corn, a bit sweet, its ok, not bad but not sessionable.
3.4 Pours very pale gold with a fizzy shortly lived white head. Smell is pretty nice actually, and smells like apples and cinnamon. Very cider like. Taste is similar and nice strong fresh green apples with a big hit of cinnamon and a corn like malt sweetness. Nicely carbonated, but a bit thin body-wise. Somewhat sweet, and not something I’d want a ton of, but a very nice guilty pleasure beer, and a nice Christmas beer to have around the Holidays. Would actually get this again occasionally.
