3.312 ounce bottle. Light blue red in color. Berry upfront with some wheat and then overall sweetness.
1.4Pours beautiful reddish hue color. Small to no head. Fruity powerful aroma. Taste is an over powering fruit flavor, mixture of berries etc. with little to no beer flavor. Taste more like a fruity wine cooler than beer. Dissatisfied with the brand as they normally brew great beer. Will never buy it again.
3.0Poured from the tap into a pint glass. The appearance is a shade of copper with a reddish hue and a very small white head. The aroma is an overpowering very sweet berry smell. The taste is way to much berry and not enough beer. An average beer.
3.612 ounce bottle into pint glass, best before 3/14/2016. Pours lightly hazy orange/pink/copper color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy light pink head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of tart blackberry, raspberry, blueberry, cherry, wheat, cracker, light honey, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Nice aromas with good balance of berries, pale malt, and light earthy hop notes; with good strength. Taste of tart blackberry, raspberry, blueberry, cherry, wheat, cracker, light honey, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Moderate fruity/tannic tartness and light herbal/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of tart blackberry, raspberry, blueberry, cherry, wheat, cracker, light pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice balance and robustness of berries, pale malt, and light earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/tart/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Good amount of dryness from bitter/tartness as well. Medium carbonation and light bodied; with a very smooth, crisp, fairly acidic/tannic, and lightly grainy/bready balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 4.7%. Overall this is a nice fruit wheat beer. All around good balance and robustness of berries, pale malt, and light earthy hop flavors; and very smooth, crisp, and refreshing to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.
2.5Originally rated on 6/8/08. The third of my sampler pack. it poured a deep amber slightly brownish color. The aroma of elder, black and raspberries was almost artificial. It was very sweet more like a wine cooler than a beer.
3.4Strong loganberries and blackberries in the aroma with a seltzer like quality to it. Reminds me of that Clearly Canadian drink that was popular in the ’90’s. Cloudy reddish color with a white cap of foam. The taste is also like seltzer with a slight sour quality at the end. The aftertaste is not very good. Effervescent palate, very drinkable. I have to take my craft beer hat off when reviewing this one. This beer is not bad if you’re only drinking one.
3.7I think all of Leinenkugels’ fruit beers are the same: fruity and delicious, but leave you wishing they had something more distinguishing than which fruit is in this particular beer you’re drinking at that moment.
4.0Pours orange pink with some haze. Aromas of berries. Very sweet taste fruity. Almost a malty wine cooler. This is the first craft beer I tasted many moons ago. I liked it then and still do on a hot summer day now.
1.9Smells great. Looks very appealing. Way to fruity for my liking...perhaps in smaller quantities with dessert might have been abetter
2.812 oz. bottle. Aroma of a berry wine cooler. Taste was berries and very very sweet.
2.5Orange-red in color, almost no head, and a nice fruity aroma. The taste comes off like a highly carbonated sweet fruit juice. It doesn’t seem very beer like, more like one of the alcohol punch drinks the hard lemonade people release. I liked drinking it, but it became almost sickeningly sweet toward the end.
2.2Pours a pink-tinged light brown with a weak spattering of white head. Aroma is more wine cooler than beer, as is the flavor, with black rasberries being the predominant component. The malt component is hefty enough to carry the berry sweetness though, and it does not come off as cloying, though the fruit is heavy handed. Just a hint of hops can be detected at the end of the swallow in an attempt to balance. Too sweet and too-unbeer for me.
3.6Pours a pink to light red color. Head is pink that fades. Aroma is sweet with heavy berries, like Strawberries, raspberries. Taste very fruity, sweet. Light body. Highly carbonated. Overall very good, well done.
2.1Way too fruity for me...taste is punch mixed with beer...not my thing at all.....(#506)
2.8Pours a juicy red, immediate nose of berries. Taste is tart. Not bad but not my thing.
2.7Bottle poured into a shaker. It had a clear reddish color with two fingers of a pinkish head that slowly dissipated. The aroma and flavor was strongly blackberry. It really reminded me of a blackberry wine cooler. While easily drinkable, it has a rather strong berry sweetness.
2.0From the 12 fl. oz. bottle dated Jul 06 15. Strawberry orange color with a quick lasting head. Smells a lot like berries and honey with an emphasis on the berries. Light but smooth body. Huh, I actually pick up the vaguest breaded malt character in the taste but otherwise it is fruity and juicy.
3.1Pours a juicy red from a bottle, immediate nose of berries, also flavor of berries. Berries.
2.8Bottle into a larger glass. Pour is a light purple. Aroma is a sweet berry. Taste is sweet almost a cooler in stead of a beer. Finish is smooth and crisp.
2.7Really, really, really, really sweet. Like soda sweet. Berry aroma is on the same level as koolaid
3.2355ml embossed twist off bottle. Rozy pink color, aroma of kool aid cooler. Falvor is berries, hint of honey flavoring, wheat. This is one of the best shitty fruit beers out there. And the original.
2.412 oz bottle from Tipsy’s into a pint glass. Amber and clear appearance with purple hues and a lacy white head. Aroma is sweet and fruity with notes of berries and artificial sweeteners. Similar flavor, sweet, fruity and a little syrupy. Light bodied and pretty easy to drink at first. It’s just a little too sweet after a few drinks, though. Meh.
2.9Old rating from 2006. Bottle from Old Town. Big blueberry and strawberry koolaid aroma with a slight hint of wheat. Tastes almost like a jones soda but still refreshing with a lot of carbonation. It is what it is, but at least it’s done well for what it is.
1.5Pours a pinkish amber color with a off white head. The aroma is berries mainly. The flavor is the same, very fruity.
2.0bottle @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Clear medium red amber with a thin rim head and no lace. Taste reminds me of a framboise, but without the body or the nice edge. There may be malt, but it is hardly present. There is also tart raspberry, which makes up nearly all the malt. Maybe it’s the beer equivalent of all those wine coolers.
1.8So this beer is very good when it first touches your palate. If you like fruity beers it's good and tastes almost like a fruity juice. But as soon as that fruity taste goes away, the taste of wheat overwhelms your tongue. Like you're chewing on a stalk of wheat. It's bad.
2.3another backlog review...kind of a weird one here, but i like it better than their other wheat i’ve had. the aroma is more enticing and the feel isn’t quite as overly carbonated. best part? not a drainpour.

Poured from bottle into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a hazy pinkish-purple color with a hint of an orange reddish color and a big billowy pink colored head. The fizzy head fades rather slowly over time as big carbonation bubbles pop within the head. Once the head fades away it leaves some rather nice foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is big and sweet. Right upon opening the bottle you can smell it. Its biggest aroma is that of a raspberry and blackberry smell. Mixed with these smells are some other berry notes of strawberry and even a little bit of current. A grain and wheaty aroma as well as a bit of yeast are there as well, giving the beer an overall very berry and slightly grainy smell overall.
Taste – The taste is hugely sweet with tons of sugary raspberry and strawberry. The flavors are mixed with a blackberry like sweetness as well as a bit of lemon and honey. There are some lighter wheat and malt flavors that develop more toward the middle and a very light herbal flavor that develops at the end. These malt and herbal flavors are very light overall however, being overshadowed by the sweet fruit flavors. Overall the brew is very cloying and due to the lighter malt base, the beer has, and leaves, a very wine cooler like flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the medium side in terms of thickness and creaminess with a higher carbonation level. The higher carbonation is nice for the very sweet and fruity flavors of the brew, although a bit of a thinner body may have been more fitting for the sweet wine cooler characteristics of the beer.
Overall – From what I have tasted this is pretty much a wine cooler. If you want something very sweet and lower in alcohol this may be it, but if looking for something that tastes anything like a beer then you may want to stay away.
1.3Hard to believe a beer this bad has remained in production for so long. Fake berry aroma and flavor. Bubbly soda like carbonation. Purple/red/brown color with thin head. Smells sweet and tastes even sweeter, like a wine cooler.
4.7I don’t get all the hate. It tastes like berry soda and I love berry soda so I love this beer.
Aroma: Mixed berries
Mouthfeel: almost soda-like carbonation. slight foam, but barely
Taste: pretty much berry soda with a hint of wheat. aftertaste is short-medium length and the same
