A 100 percent malted lager, “Leinie’s Classic” features Leinenkugel’s own unique blend of two-row and six-row malts and four varieties of hops. A blend of Pale, Caramel, and Munich malts offer a complex flavor, with four different hops (Cluster, Cascade, Mt. Hood, and Hallertau) to balance the malts. Acknowledging their German heritage, Leinenkugel’s brewed Classic Amber in Reinheitsgebot tradition, where the only ingredients permitted are malts, water, hops, and yeast.

3.0This was a souvenir from my student’s trip to the US ^_^ A nice amber ale that was was dark like an ale but light & crisp like a lager, It is really drinkable & lightly spiced. It would make a nice session beer.
2.4Clear golden color with a small, white head. The aroma is caramel, and toasted malts, with some lager yeast characteristics. Light palate with some caramel flavors and not much else. Pretty plain all in all.
2.5Its been a while since ive had this beer, but ill give this a shot. Amber pour, white head, dry, slightly hopped flavor.
2.1Bottle to glass. Aroma of sweet grain and almost cloying syrup. Clear amber with off-white head. Taste is grainy with harsh bitter finish.
2.3Nice head. Yeasty aroma. Odd taste...sort of bitter, skunky, stale even.
But the appearance is beautiful.
2.5Creams head. Light amber color. Kinda rusty bitter. A decent ’basic’ beer, but nothin special
2.3Bottle on Amtrak 354 between Chicago and New Buffalo - 03/11/12.
Pours light amber with a big frothy white head. Carbonation evident.
Nose of malt, barley, grain and a hint of fruit - pretty muted.
Taste follows nose - nothing else to add to the very basic components of this beer.
Medium bodied with light spritzy carbontaion.
High on the blandometer.
3.0Light, light caramel colored pour. Sizable off-white head. Some lacing. Smell is malty and that’s about it. Slightly carbonic malty taste. A little fruity as well. A bit bitter in the back. Not bad.
2.812 oz twist off bottle purchased as part of a mystery six pack from Andy’s in Rochester, Minnesota. SEP2412 printed on bottle neck. The pour is a light clear golden, with a fizzy one inch light tan head that falls loosely and quickly. The aroma is metallic sweet malt, bit of a grainy corn, and grass. The taste is the sharp malt metallic sweetness, followed by a general graininess - it is a bit cleaner tasting then the nose suggested. The palate is light bodied, active carbonation, and a thin verging on watery finish. Easy enough to drink.
3.2decent beer, good amount of bitterness, but not a hoppy bitterness. malty smell, good color to it, decent head.. one of leinies better brews
2.8Bottle at home, pours light amber with a thin off white head. Aroma is crystal and Munich malts. Flavor is light and crisp toasted malts with a clean finish.
2.92012.09.17 - BBQ Gentse Biervereniging - orange coloured beer - aroma of malts. Taste of malts and some bitterness.
3.0Nice amber color. Big creamy head that dissipates kinda quick. Malts are dominant with just a little bit of hops picked up on the finish. A decent amber from the boys of wisconsin.
2.612 oz bottle from the sampler case. Depending on your mood, it’s either not bad or the equivalent of drinking rust water. Worth a try in any case.
3.012oz bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a clear light amber with about a finger of white head. Aroma of skunky grassy hops, light caramel and grain. Taste is light bitter. Grassy hops and caramel. Light bodied with a slick texture. Lively carbonation and a decently long finish. Overall, not that bad. I’ve had worse.
2.8A reddish amber lager with a thin mocha head. In aroma, sweet musty caramel, with light vinous notes. In mouth, a smooth nutty malt with light roasted notes, grassy hops, a bit oxidized, but decent.
2.229/VII/2012 - 12Fl. Oz. bottle @ Crystal’s place - bottled: VI/23/12 - (2012-779) Thanks to Caytinator for sharing the bottle!
Clear orange beer, small irregular off-white head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: offensive, something’s off, maltys, grains, cookie dough and stable. MF: ok carbon, some caramel, bit metallic, hay, little bitter. Aftertaste: pretty bitter, some citrus, grassy touch, pretty boring in all.
2.5Hard to hit a character limit on this one.. a very basic amber.. ok to drink but not something I really like. a bit to much "grainy" style notes.
3.0I definitely had this awhile back and somehow failed to rate it. An average beer, like most from these guys.
2.6Thanks to tderoeck for sharing the bottle. Darl yellow color (definitely NOT amber). Irregular light head, interesting aroma, not that good. Light body and taste, a little sour at the end, typical of the style. Haymarket. Hard to love, but easy to like.
2.4From a 12 oz bottle provided by my sister as a birthday gift. Pours a faint copper with a smidgen of head that lingers. Very unremarkable nose. Taste is bitter, more in a battery acid way than a hoppy way. Lingers. Not very good.
3.4355ml bottle @ Corey & Angela’s place. Clear orange to golden color, small white head. Smell malts, lightly caramel. Taste malts, lightly caramel, lightly bitter. Medium carbo, low to medium body.
2.7Bitterness is the first thing that came to mind on first taste. Weak head dissipates quickly, sharp aftertaste. Wouldn’t want to have too many of these....
3.0Bottle.
Grainy earthy flavors atop a late soapy hop snap that lasts for an hour; entirely drinkable.
3.2Nice beer, a bit too much herbaly for My taste. Also not the best after taste. Thanks.
2.812 oz bottle. Sure enough, it pours golden amber in color. Taste and aroma is grainy. Slightly carbonated and easy to drink. Not a bad effort by Leinies.
2.512 oz bottle pours a dark golden color with small white head. Aroma is simple: Corn, grainy malts, and a bit of lemon. Taste is slightly bitter but without any offensive finish.Thin to medium body with lots of carbonation. I never expect anything great from this brewery, and my expectations were met once again. Nothing bad, but nothing memorable, either.
2.3Pits clear amber with a white head. Grainy bland aroma. Taste has some bitterness. Not a lot going on here.
2.7Pours amber with aroma of malt, brown sugar, some hops, a note of citrus. Light palate and not complex brew.
2.5Bottle into a goblet. Pour is a dark amber with a thick head that drops fast. Taste is malt on malt with hops. Finish is a nice clean malt bitter.
