Leinenkugels Fireside Nut Brown Ale

Leinenkugels Fireside Nut Brown Ale

The new amber-toned brew features roasted malt character, with English two-row malts provide the beer with a maple aroma and pronounced chocolate, caramel and hazelnut top notes.

3.4 Amber brown in appearance with strong nutty taste and a dark crystal malt. Smooth aftertaste and light in carbonation.
3.3 Dark brown color with creamy head. Pleasant aroma of malt, maple, and toffee. Pleasant flavors of maple, chocolate, nuts, caramel, and malts. Very good beer.
2.2 12 oz bottle: Pours a dark chestnut brown with a decent white head. No CO2 release or lacing. Aroma is bad, smells like a sour American lager. Taste is pretty bad too. Not much flavor for a nut brown, weak, thin, bland. Poor offering overall.
2.9 Bottle from drabmuh in an effort to help me review all 104 styles. Thanks Matt! A: The beer is clear and light copper hued, with 1/4" of head. S: The aroma is primarily of sweet malt, lager, subtle fruits. T: The beer has some good flavors happening, but they are all very muted and mild. Subtle fruit and nut flavors are pleasant but could be brought out more. M: Thin in body and perhaps a bit low in carbonation. D: An OK offering. I had no problem finishing a pint, but likely would not go back for another. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 01-31-2011
2.8 Dark, clear amber with a frothy cream colored head. Weak aroma of roasted hazelnuts and light syrup. Taste is nuts and sweet malts, but watery and really thin. Light bodied with average carbonation; again, thin. Decent flavor if it wasn’t so weak.
3.7 Brown beer with toasted nuts, caramel, and even a little cocoa going on in there. Light bodied and easily followed by a second or third. The colder the temps the better it flows.
3.0 Pours roasted brown, strong toffee, roasted nut taste. A bit sugary and metallic aftertaste, but not a bad evening beer.
1.9 Freebie at Artomatic. Clear brown. Aroma of nuts. Taste is similar. Pretty plain stuff.
3.0 Dark in color with moderate foam. Had a malty smell, and a beautiful brown color. Taste is in the title. Overall a great beer for the holiday season, you m may even consider picking up a few extra packs for of season drinking.
2.6 Light brown, no head. Light aroma of roasted malt. Very very sweet and acidic. Metallic after taste. Meh.
2.7 From the bottle poured a brown brew with a light brown head. Light aromas of nutty malt. Nutty and malty flavors. Not wonderful, but I didn’t pour it out.
2.4 Originally reviewed: 12/20/08. Pours a dark tawny brown with a decent head. No retention or lacing whatsoever. Smells of toffee, nuts, sweet smelling. Yikes! This is one of the sweetest beers I’ve ever had. It gets worse as I drink. Taste of brown sugar, syrup, toffee, pecans. This is like a pecan pie in a bottle. I love the pie, but this brew is not good. This is a sugary, syrupy mess. Not a winter warmer at all. Great dessert brew, if you’re into that sort of thing. Personally, I wouldn’t get this again.
2.1 The whole thing just kind of comes apart. Watery on the palate. Evident artificial flavoring. Very macro-esce, but better than the usual swill I suppose.
2.6 light brown color, aroma of roasted nuts, caramel, flavors of roasted nuts, caramel, water, thats about it pretty boring beer
0.6 Is this even beer, really? It’s like drinking urine, but without the sense of adventure.
3.2 Pours light brown with fast dissapating head..aroma is cofee caramel taste is roasted nut malt.... Very light...kinda like a budlight and a brown ale mixed...but still good
2.6 This nut brown pours a soft clear brown with a weak head. It has a fairly thin mouthfeel. Simple construction with a malty side and a decent nutty flavor- like a toasted pecan. 6.5-j 6.5-B
2.4 meh; slight aroma of malt and toffe. THIN mouthfeel; taste similiar to aroma with maybe a little nuttiness Plus a metallic finish. move along
2.6 Poured from a regular bottle into a trumpet glass to drink. The beer had a slightly-cloudy medium brown color with a slight dark amber hue, with a good-sized creamy tan head with modest retention but ample cling. The aroma featured notes of caramel and maple malt, with compliments of cereal and grainy hops. Its taste was somewhat sweet with a bit of caramel and some bitter grainyness, but not smoothly put together. The body was fairly light in carbonation and fizz, mostly dry and on the thin side, with little mouthfeel.
3.7 Pours a rich clear brown with an almost nonexistent head. The aroma is strong hazelnut with notes of malt and maple. The body is thin and the taste is much like the aroma. I fine this beer to be very satisfying.
2.6 Light brown-amber pour with small amount of head with continually rising bubbles. Has a sweet smell to it, caramel, toffee, maybe a hint of chocolate. Tastes about what it smells.
3.0 12oz bottle: Appearance is a deep brown with minimal head. Aroma is of stale malt. Taste is of sweet malt and a little bit of nut.
2.5 From the 12oz bottle given to me as a gift from neighbor Bob. Pours thin with a very weak body. More transparent than a brown should be. Nothing outstanding to note other than the fact that in most places a case of this brand is usually discounted (and now I understand why).
2.7 On tap at local bar in Mt Prospect. Pours clear amber with off-white head. Aromas of nuts, bread, and sweet caramel malts. Flavor of caramel, nuts, and some bready malts. Body is thin.
3.6 thin almost nonexistent head. nice brown color. definitely a nutty aroma. maybe a little chocolate. thin on the palate, but not bad. smooth finish. I should mention I had it at Champps in Milwaukee first; not sure if on tap. Bought it at Binnys back home. I went back and got a second 6 pack, mainly for the nuttiness.
2.1 Bottle pours a clear copper/brown with a small off-white head and no lacing. Aroma is pleasant: nutty, with roasted malts but no discernible hops. This one went downhill quickly after the first sip.though. Taste is sour with a metallic finish, not helped by a fairly thin texture and too much carbonation. I’ll pass on this one next time..
2.8 Pours clear deep brown with a beige head. The aroma has toasty nutty malt, some bread and brown sugar. Medium / thin body with mild carbonation and finishes really thin and watery. Starts with nuttiness then it quickly get medicinal, tinny and filled with minerals./ The finish is like sucking on a penny. Didn’t like this one.
2.2 BOTTLE and TAP. I get caramel, salty nuts and metal. Why does this have to taste like I am sucking on the nut cracker?
3.1 From the bottle, pours opaque brown with a white foamy head. Brown sugar, amber malt, really not that bad. Not a big fan of browns, but nothing wrong with this one.
1.1 Watery, faint nutty aroma. Where’s the hops? Where’s the taste? This beer is not good.
