A traditional Marzen brewed with 2-Row Pale, Caramel, and Munich malts. The malts give it a hearty character and deep amber color. Tettnanger and Perle hops provide a well-balanced, drinkable finish prefect for Fall celebrations.

2.8Pours amber with bone white head. Aroma is roast and caramel. Taste is sickly sweet caramel, moving to light roast. Finish is roast.
2.1From Sept 2008
This just showed up today in Casper.
A clear sparkling orange amber colour with a small head of foam that shrinks quickly to some spotting and a ring around the glass. Some lacing.
The smell light notes of caramel and grain and a rather strong metallic nose. This doesn't bode too well unless the taste kicks in with some good flavour.
The taste has notes of caramel, bread, a bit of fruitiness, and a touch of lemon hop bitterness and I do mean just a touch, but I wasn't really looking for any so it's cool. Ok, the finish gets a little bitter and in not that good a way so this one is not doing much for me in my current search for Oktoberfests.
The mouthfeel is light but slick on the tongue and the carbonation is mediumish.
Well, first of the style to show up in town and actually, the first time the Leinie's has shown up here and..I don't find it to be a well rounded brew...no symphany of flavours here. Too bad. ;^(
2.0Pours a clean copper with a white head. Aromas of malt and caramel. Taste is the same but somewhat muted. Nothing special.
1.6very nice Octoberfest from our friends in Chippewa Falls, WI. Wonderful, good mix of malt and hops - without an overload of the hops - thankfully!!!!!!!!!! Great!!!!!!!!
update - 12/2017 -- tried a few more and noticed an exceptionally BAD aftertaste. Are they using a new hops?? Doubtful. Are their GMO ingredients acting up?? Possibly. It is a distinct "mineral" taste, as if they used water out of a granite quarry or something. It reminds of tasting this brew a few years ago. It had a distinct "spicy" aftertaste, as if they had added some nutmeg or something. I dont drink beer for "nutmeg". yuck..........
9/2018 - tried it again, due to my liking their other brews and it is good this year!! No noticeable/bad aftertaste. Just a good malt brew with a slight (as it should be with an OCTOBERFEST brew) hops presence. Nice to have this brew back and tasting good.
9/2019 - still tastes better than any USA hops over loaded craftie mess.......but......this year has another aftertaste. it is a mineral taste that isnt real bad, but, it isnt real good and has that pumpkin orange look........... no thanks.
7/2021 update - I LOVE Leinies beer, but this OFest has had too many ups and downs. Why do I have to "guess" if it will taste good?? Reduced rating to get it off my list.
1.8Bottle from Walhole. Pours clear amber with a small off-white head. Aroma is caramel candy and little else. Flavor is horrible toffee/caramel - those plastic-wrapped rectangles you would get back in the 80s on Halloween. This is no Oktoberfest. This doesn't even taste like a beer. Yuck.
2.012 oz bottle. Pours a copper orange with a small white head, caramel and malt taste with a little hop bitterness. A little thin and overall not a great Oktoberfest style beer.
3.0Draught pint from booth at Ford Field near Section 328.
Pours an filtered medium to dark red brown with head that lasts to end with excellent lacing.
Smells malty and slightly sweet with a hint of spice.
Taste is similar. No real hop bitterness. Some spice, but a little bland.
Medium body with next to no aftertaste (slight bitterness). Great carbonation.
Overall I was very happy with the brew. Easy drinking, quality ingredients. Would buy again. MB. The Beer "Bear"on.
3.112 oz bottle. Pours amber with tall, long-lasting, fluffy white head and lively carbonation. Aroma is of grassy hops and bready malt. Body is medium and crisp. Grassy hops and biscuit malt fill the mouth. Finish is medium and dry. Ok brew.
2.5Tap, ADT. Clear dark gold with a foamy white head. Very mild aroma and flavor, some light spice and pale malt. Medium carbonation. Overall the body is a little thin with not much depth of flavor. Nice label though.
1.5Highly carbonated. No malt backbone like you would expect from an Oktoberfest. No bitterness at all. A poor representation of the style. And a sad beer in general.
3.0Refrigerated 12 oz. brown bottle poured into a glass. Clear Amber with small off-white head. Aroma is caramel, medium body, medium carbonation, and small-bubble lacing. Taste is caramel malt.
2.3Disappointing. Overly sweet and dark. Pretty much a run of the mill nut-brown/amber. Nothing Oktoberfest about this at all.
2.0Generic and overall unimpressive, but not unpalatable by any means.nothing to write home about
2.6The first Oktoberfest of the season, and it was not bad. Definitely not the best I will have, but ice cold and refreshing
1.9Pretty disgusting. Who actually drinks this stuff on a regular basis. Never again
2.8Rated from memory last october. All i remember is that this stuff was cheap and very light. i wasnt a huge fan of it. but dang u could pound these if u wanted
3.0Traditional beer. Mild malt aromas. Flavors were muted with hints of caramel and German malt. Mild hop presence. Nice amber color. Medium weight.
2.6Bottle shared at a Farewell to Bugrashov tasting at Stas’. Thanks Vova. Clear piss gold. Sweet malty aroma, spoiled bread. Bitter and oxidized taste. Light body, well-carbonated, sweet and oxidized finish.
3.212 ounce bottle. Not much of a aroma. Does smell a little sweet. Deep straw in color. Very smooth on the palate. I like the malt in this beer. Overall one of my more favorite octoberfest’s.
4.5Clear dark bronze pour with a khaki bead and fair retention. Decent lacing. Taste is malty and sweet with a good caramel flavor. Smooth and creamy mouthfeel. Excellent American style Oktoberfest!
2.5From the bottle. Weak aroma. Polished copper color with minimal head. Good carbonation. Light malt flavor that is quickly overcome by hops. Somewhat thin mouthfeel but no lingering aftertaste.
2.2Bottle sample at the "Farewell to Vova Shack" tasting at Stas’s place. Thanks Stas. Deep golden. Aroma of malt, oxidized, cardboard, metal, a bit of caramel. Sweetish flavor with malt, a bit of caramel, a bit of oxidation, metal, and a slightly bitterish finish. Light-bodied.
3.9Bottle poured a clear reddish amber with a small lasting amber head. Aromas of caramel, fruitiness and a hint of spice. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of caramel, fruitiness and light spice with a smooth dry lingering fruity caramel finish.
3.0Can on Southwest flight ECP-HOU for Thanksgiving in Dallas. Middle of the road fest beer. Sweeter malt with light bitterness. It gets a little more flavorful as it warms. Okay.
2.512 oz. bottle. Pours copper with a off white foamy head. Aroma was toasted malts, spicy, caramel malt. Taste was sweet, watery, caramel malts, light flavored.
2.4If you must partake in a Leinie Oktoberfest, try to find it on tap rather than in a bottle. While neither has an especially distinctive aroma, the draft version is smoother and sweeter while the bottled variety is thin and bitter. To be honest, neither is memorable but at least the tapper is bearable.
3.4Nice dark amber color with an off-white head leaves a modest lacing. Smells heavily of hopps with a mild citrus background. Good balance of bitterness and sweetness. The carbonation is subtle and makes the beer quite easy to drink.
3.2Beautiful ruby amber with a white head. More malt forward. Just a bit of earthy hops. Sweet.
4.1Sweet caramel, bread, toasty interesting beer. I enjoy it medium body and well balanced.
2.2Pours a copper from a bottle, thin white head with some lacing. Aroma of toffee and toast, flavor similar, rather sweet, no bitterness to speak of. Not a lot going on, kind of plain. Meh.
