Leinenkugels Snowdrift Vanilla Porter

Leinenkugels Snowdrift Vanilla Porter

Leinenkugel’s Snowdrift Vanilla Porter is a robust and velvety addition to Leinenkugel’s seasonal selection. This porter-style beer is aged on real vanilla to reveal rich layers of caramel, coffee and chocolate that is ideal for the season.

3.5 tasty
3.4 Dark, red hue. Mild chocolate vanilla roast. Same taste, cola, caramel. Slight roast not very robust.
3.2 Found from Ingles in Clayton, GA. Nice dark pour with a minimal and short lasting foam. Aroma and flavor have slight vanilla characteristics. Decent but I've had better for the style. Will do in a pinch.
2.3 6 pack was on sale for 5.99. I thought it was decent for the price. This beer doesn't do anything right concerning a porter. It is oversweet and doesn't have any of the crisp edge that I am accustomed to with other porters. A typical Lienies Beer, a typical disappointment. I should of at least bought the Creamy Dark!
3.2 12 oz bottle. Very dark brown color with a light brown head. Aroma of roasty with earthiness, cocoa, and a little vanilla bean. Taste is primarily roasty malts, maybe some walnut, vanilla, tiny bitterness in the finish. Pretty light bodied.
3.5 Bottle. Brown color with a thin off-white head that quickly dissipated. The aroma is roasted malt with notes of chocolate and vanilla. The taste is a bit sweet with a flat mouthfeel. Tasty.
3.1 As with most Leinenkugel beers in my experience, this offering didn't quite make the grade. The beer poured a lighter black color with a small tan head. There wasn't a whole lot of flavor, with only tiny hints of vanilla, coffee and caramel. A small note of chocolate seeped through in the finish, but otherwise, this was another disappointing beer from this brewery.
2.7 Nice dark brown color. Slight vanilla aroma. Tastes like a nice porter with a mild vanilla flavor. Nice balance of flavors. Has a roast flavor I didn't expect. Ok but not my style.
2.0 Not the best. Pretty good flavor, but a very harsh metallic aftertaste.
5.0 Great taste , smell , look and feel. It's my favorite. I almost wish it wasn't seasonal .
3.2 Btl pours a dark brown color with ruby highlights, big tan head that vanished faster than David Blaine’s model. No lace on glass. Smells of black licorice, brown sugar, vanilla, cola and spice. Taste of vanilla , chocolate, a bit of coffee, alcohol, cola and sweet ass cookies. Medium body, under carbonated, syrupy, tongue tingly mouthfeel and a sweet, spicy finish. Well it’s ok but way too sweet!Ok it’s decent a malty, spicy holiday beer. Good for the season!
3.4 Bottle. Dark brown cherry black. Vanilla, cocoa, chocolate, coffee, toffee. Toffee, grahmcracker, cocoa taste. Medium body. Average carbonation. It's decent.
3.8 Aroma of Malts and black licorice. Taste is syrupy and vanilla nicely balanced with smokeyness and slight bitterness. Balanced and good
3.2 From the 12 fl. oz. bottle with an expiration date of March 26, 2018. Gorgeous looking deep dark brown pour with ruby red highlights and a modest, short-lasting off-white head. The aroma is full of vanilla sweetness with a slightly burnt malt character in the background and light earthy hops. Creamy and smooth light to medium body. The taste is very sweet with the emphasis on the vanilla, as expected given the title, and a mildly bitter finish. Not awful but I prefer more straight forward Porters rather than "flavored" ones.
2.9 12 oz twist off bottle that was part of the World Market 9 pack Beers of Winter gift from my Mother in Law. MAR2618 printed on bottle neck. The pour is a brown ruby copper with a fizzy one inch light khaki head that is lasting. The aroma is sweet caramel, vanilla and soft roast malt. The taste is sweet cherry vanilla, caramel malt, and a bit of a coffee roast coming through in the finish. The palate is light bodied, very active carbonation and a sweetish vanilla lingering finish. With the sweetness and high carbonation, almost has a soda pop feel to it.
4.2 Aroma is lightly of vanilla, but there isn’t much of an aroma to this beer. Appearance is what a dark beer should be. Taste is of vanilla, notes of chocolate, and faintly of coffee. Has a mouthfeel with body.
3.0 Good mid sized brewery beer. Pleasant taste is not overpowering. If you are searching for a beer to knock your socks off with a sip, this won’t be the beer for you. It will however provide you with a good beer that you can enjoy all day long. Glad to have gotten this beer for the new year...
2.7 No real aroma which is disappointing. Taste is a bit flat but there is a distinct vanilla aftertaste which is pleasant. Pores very dark with a light tan head. Decent beer but not as good as their other offerings.
2.7 On tap at Applebee’s. Light nutty chocolate aroma. Barely. Taste doesn’t do much for me. Some malts and cardboard. Maybe vanilla. Meh.
4.2 I actually really like this beer. I was totally surprised because I wouldn’t normally drink a beer this dark. I will definitely drink more of this one!
4.0 B-. Pours a black color with khaki head. Has a unique flavor, subtle vanilla
1.0 Weak body, hyper cabonation. Don’t taste much by way of Porter/Coffee tones or vanilla.
3.3 The aroma flavor and body are all suffering from a weak malt bill. The concept is good as I pick up some of the claimed qualities of dark malts roastiness, vanilla, burnt sugar but the thinness does damage.
2.9 Nice winter beer. Mellow and sweet, it leaves an excellent vanilla flavor on the tongue
2.4 aroma is lacking, really have to try to get the malts and slight sweet vanilla. black cola color. weak palate, but slight sweet tongue coating. Taste is very basic and watery. some malts, bitter cocoa, and burnt caramel. Tap
3.2 Bottle pour into shaker pint glass from Whole Foods Market. Appearance is clear, dark brown/ruby red with finger-width, light brown foamy head with poor retention and no lacing. Aroma is strong vanilla, chocolate, sweet roasted malts. Taste is as aroma. Palate is light bodied with thin texture, lively carbonation and mix of sweet and bitter finish. Overall, this was a real favorite of mine a few years back but I'm finding it a bit too sweet now, which is saying something, and overcarbonated.
3.1 Pours dark, dark brown, to black... creamy tan head. Dark roasted malts, fermented breads, coffee, nuts, vanilla, a light hint of fruit. Mellow. Not as rich and creamy tasting as in the appearance. It's ok.
3.3 12 oz bottle. Pours an opaque dark dark brown with a layer of tan head. Aroma and taste of roasted malts and chocolate with a hint of vanilla. Pretty thin but not bad.
2.7 well it looks hella good in a glass. but it doesnt taste all that great. really dry and chalky. vanilla is there and little roastyness but its just weak and seems artificial
2.0 Bit of an odd taste. Good carbonation. No hoppiness whatsoever. You can definitely taste the vanilla, unfortunately it just adds a nasty character to the beer. A bit astringent
