2.7 33cl shared at oldmanriver’s. Thinner shoesole brown pour. Mild cooked stonefruit and autumn leaves in aroma (Centennial), quite thin in flavour body, a whiff only of the choco/caramalts. Drying mouthfeel, perfuming the palate with hazelnuts and grape.
3.4 Bottled @ The Black Swan, Liljeholmen. Hazy mahogany, thick tanned head leaving rich lacing. Earthy aroma with pine and resin. Mild carbonated, smooth and dry mouthfeel. The taste got roasted malty notes, sweet caramel, honey, resin. A bitter and dry chalky cocoa finish.
3.4 Orangey brown pour from the bottle. Roasted fruit and nuts with some caramel and biscuit. Medium carbonation / light body with a little sweetness.
2.9 (bottle, 33cl) Dark brown colour with a beige and short foamy head. Discreetly dark malty and grainy aroma with mildly spicy hoppy notes and a tinge of marzipan. Slightly bitter flavour, quite light bodied with a moderate carbonation. Mildly dark malty start with drying herbal spicy hops and hints of caramel; dry and moderately bitter hoppy finish with a touch of resin. Quite one-dimensional. 21.II.16

3.1 Bottled, 330ml from Favourite Beers, Cheltenham, Gloucs. Dark brown with cream head. The beer is sweet from the start, there is a malty biscuit character with sweet caramel and just a hint of coffee. Glutinous on the palate. Not really over keen on this one.
3.2 Bottle at home in London - sourced from Beermerchants. Pours clear reddish brown with a large, creamy tan head. Simple lightly toasted bread in the aroma, with accents of brown sugar and ripening fruits. Light to medium sweet flavour, with some earthy bitterness, impressions of cocoa, burnt caramel, brown bread, berries, biscuits. Light bodied with lively carbonation and massaging carbonation. Finishes with a fair amount of earthy bitterness, burnt toast and caramel, more bready malts, toasted leaves, faint cocoa. Decent enough low-octane brown ale.

3.1 Bottle from Favourite Beers, Cheltenham. Deep, reddish brown in colour, with a thin, off-white, head. Rich, brown sugar aroma with a hint of Bovril. Flavour was similar with a gentle finish. Ok.
3.5 Bottle from Appellation Wines Comely Bank. Appearance - deep amber to red with a decent head. Nose - hazelnuts and toffee and light biscuit. Taste - toffee, nuts and biscuits. Palate - close to medium bodied with a crunchy texture and a nicely balanced finish. Overall - I’d put this somewhere between a bitter and a Scotch Ale. Enjoyable.
3.2 Brown pour with some foam. Smells of caramel and nuts. Taste is light with some notes of caramel, nuts and apricots with some bitterness in the end. Overall, better than your average pilsner but nothing fascinating.

3.2 My personal favourite of all the Lervig beers, though I’m not a great fan of brown ales. Well carbonated, decent bitterness, delicious chocolate and caramel aroma and flavour. Very drinkable, even on a hot summer day.
