Lervig Brewers Reserve Rye IPA

Lervig Brewers Reserve Rye IPA

This double IPA is copper colored and bitter, but balanced by the malty flavors. The 20% rye malt gives this beer a nice bite which helps bring the massive hops together.

Malts: pale malt, caramel malts, rye malt, oats. Hops: Simcoe, Chinook, Amarillo.
Aroma: piney, resinous hops, with notes of fresh fruit, spice and caramel malt.
Food pairings: salty and fried foods, grilled red meat and Indian curry.

Editor’s note: First served on tap at 7.7% ABV.

Aroma a malta, cítricos, centeno y alcohol.
3.1 Lukt: mango hunle sött Smak: mango, beska, ganska kort eftersmak, men rätt trevlig..

4.1 Bottle. Cloudy amber with a tight, white head. Aromatic with some sweet notes and definite oatiness on the back end. Initially balanced, but the hops have a lingering bitterness... in a good way.

3.6 Quite nice IPA. Huge hints of pine, A LOOOT of hops, and kind of a manly, if it would not be so much hops. I liked the oily, smooth mothfeel, quite ballanced, decent IPA.
3.8 Quite weak on nose but powerful in taste, some maltiness, rye breadish, intense hops, mostly citrus, pine, herbal aspect. Light sweet with lasting moderate to intense bitterness. Bit too sharp. At first I thought I dont like it, but after few sips it got to me quite well, felt like in pine tree forest near Baltic sea :P
3.5 33cl bottle. Pours a dark amber, with a tan head that gives way to a sticky lacing. Smells of caramel and dark fruit. Tastes sweet and malty, with a thin hop-bitter component underneath.
3.5 Amber hazy with medium off-white head. Mild malt aroma with hoppy notes. Bit sweetvrye bread taste with strong bitterness, touch of citrusy sour. Lasting bitter aftertaste.

3.7 Pour a medium orange, with a small/one finger sized white head. Aroma også plenty of pine, slight grass, faint citrus peel and some of that white stuff in between the fruit and the peel. Definately some caramel in here as well. Taste is faintly sweet jo front, with a nice dose of bitterness from the middle. Rather full bodied, with a mellow carbonation. Thanks a bunch to my s/o for this unexpected treat.
