3.8 Shared bottle, from SB. Pitch black with quickly dissipating brown head. Soft carbonation. Full bodied. Boozy with chocolate, grain, some soy sauce. Fairly sweet with molasses and vanilla. Pretty nice.
4.0 11.2 fl. oz. flaske. Dejlig fyldig.
3.7 Bottle: As black as ink, small tanned foamy layer, moderate to solid nose of molasses, toasted malt, port-wine and dried fruits; solid sweet flavour with a delicate bitterness and acidity, as well, full bodied, absolutely not expected, oily MF; port-wine, molasses and toasted malt - with traces of chocolate - in the solid sweet-bitter finish. Presumably brewed for beer-gardens close to the polar-circle...
3.4 1/22/2017 -- from notes: 12oz bottle, split with Steph and Caterwaul. I was apprehensive about this, finding it for $2 at Brentwood. But turns out it's pretty tolerable, not bad. Not too much alcohol bite or overwhelming sweetness, drinks better than expected for 18%. I may be imagining this bc of the "brewed with pizza" description, but I get a touch of tomato sauce. Roast malt, some dark chocolate, touch of coffee. Moderate sweet, moderate-plus bitter, mild heat. Pretty chewy. Good texture. Interesting one to try. Not bad.
3.0 Bottle, January 2017. Sherry, soy sauce, very estery - cherries, blackberries. Dark chocolate in the back. Licorice-laden and sweet in the taste, with an unexpectedly dry, ashy finish. A bit boozy. Quite alright but definitely not top-tier.
3.8 Bottle. Pours black with a beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, grains, caramel and hay. Flavor is sweet and malty with some alcohol, vanilla, grains, chocolate and coffee. Full body, soft carbonation.
4.2 European Summer Secret Santa, thanks gunnar. Lecker... 8/14/10/13/10/13
4.0 Qué barbaridad! Alquitrán del bueno. Chocolate, fruta madura, barrica. Cremosa. Alcohol bien integrado aunque esta presente. Final duradero!
2.9 Bottle @ Pre-Pils-Festival, Odense. Pours Black with a small creamy head. Dusty cellar. Oxidized. Harsh alcohol and Roast.
3.2 Dunkbar Pilsnerfestival Pre-tasting. Black with a small tan head. Aroma of licorice, dried fruit and dessert wine with a dusty note. Sweet, roasted flavour with licorice, and a strong dusty note
4.2 Bottle. Black color With medium creamy White mostly lastning head. Malty aroma With notes of chokolade. Sweet and bitter flavor. Creamy palate.
4.3 Inky black pour with a thin tan head. Rich dark roasty chocolaty nose with a touch of semisweet smokiness. Smooth and delightful sweet and hella dark flavor that’s full and charming and full of cocoa and gentle meaty smoky undertones. Like pepperoni. Lovely full and rich and thick with roast and gentle black malt chocolate and subtle pepperoni.
4.5 On tap at Torst in Brooklyn. A well named super stout. First, it is a good looking beer with an dense, ultra dark tan head on a black body. The nose has standard dark chocolate and coffee elements, backed up by dark berries, booziness and a touch of sour. The density and velvet feel are prominent from the first sip. Sweet, ripe dark berries, dark chocolate, mild but fresh ground coffee and molasses are well blended in the foreground of the taste profile. The boozy warmth, vanilla and a touch of ash in the finish round things out. A memorable sipper.
4.0 A black beer, a head is dark brown and small. Aroma has salt liquirice, roastiness, coffee, dried fruits and candisugar, some salt liquirice booze. Taste is very intensive, huge amount of salt liquirice, roastiness, high sweetness of candisugar, there is also balancing bitterness. Alcohol can be noticed but not tasted. Full bodied, not stickyenss. Slighty warming in the throat. The truly monster.
3.9 Warsaw Beer Festival (WFP6), April 2017 backlog Malty aroma, dark roasted malts to be exact. Great body, so full and thick you wanna chew it.Though there ain’t no thing to differentiate it
3.7 Draught@CBC2016. Black colour, mediumsized brown head. Aroma is spices, some liquorice, alcohol, roasted notes and mild toffee. Flavour is roasted malts, alcohol, some ashes, liquorice, ripe fruits, plum and quite sugary notes as well. Quite boozy to some extent, but at the same time somewhat balanced.
3.5 A huge stout at 17.5% ABV brewed with frozen pizza. Yeah, you heard me — pizza. It pours deep brown that looks pitch black in the glass. Nice oily creamy tan head. Aroma of toasted malts and bitter chocolate. Very drinkable for the ABV, smooth, roasty and burnt dark chocolate. There’s nothing pizza about it really. It leaves your tongue kinda rough, as if it was thickened with flour, but that’s it. Gimmick beer, but worth a try!
3.7 Tap @ Himmeriget. Pours pitch black with small beige head. Coffee, dark chocolate, raisins, plums, alcohol is quite noticeable. Full body, oily texture and soft carbonation.
4.1 Tap at MBCC 2017. Pours black with tan lace. Full bodied, heavy and smooth. Chocolate, coffee, dried fruit.
3.4 Pours completely pitch black, with the thickness of old engine oil and of course zero head. Aroma: a roasted malt bomb, followed by soy sauce and a touch of alcohol. Taste: again tons of roasted dark malt, which also gives the taste of pralines (alcoholic ones!), dark chocolate, a little bit of soy sauce. Palate is definitely warming from alcohol and bitter. An interesting experiment, but overall a very thick and too heavy stuff, even for sipping. I understand the idea of brewing a crazy beer (with adding pizza of course leaving absolutely no trace in there), but this is not stuff I would return to. Interesting, but one time is enough.
4.1 WTF?!
Mocarna rzecz.
3.3 WFP Backlog. 2015 Vintage. A bit too roasty and still there’s too much alcohol. Chocolate, tons of roasty notes, some hops, coffee.
4.2 Rami Rami is drinking a Big Ass Money Stout by Lervig at Warszawski Festiwal Piwa Taki ris ris, konsystentny, cielisty, palony, robiacy wrazenie
3.5 W aromacie spoko - czekolada, troche pizzy (rzeczywi?cie to czu?!). Odrobina kawy. Czu? to w aromacie i smaku. Zbyt jednowymiarowe.
