4.9 Pours like engine oil, jet black with a thin brown head. Aroma of roasted malts, vanilla, licorice, small hint of dark fruits, Taste is roast, vanilla, sweet licorice, dark chocolate, turns bready in the finish, hint of oak appears in the development (weird because it doesnt state anything about barrel aging). This is why i got into craft beer.
4.4 Bottle, at Håndverksølfestivalen 2017. A gorgeous looking beer with a lasting dense, two-finger tan head on top of a jet black body. The aroma has some roasted malts, lots of caramel and coffee, a solid dose of brown sugar, and notes of dark rye bread, burnt malts, soy sauce and alcohol. It ‘s full-bodied, smooth and sweet on the palate, with a nice carbonation, a nice bitterness and a wee salty hint. The flavor is sweet, with caramel and coffee, some dark chocolate and burnt malts, and a good alcohol touch giving some warmth. Everlasting finish. A delicious one indeed, to be enjoyed in your favorite chair, it’s definitely not a thirst quencher. 170610

4.1 Bottle. It pours jet black with a creamy beige head. The aroma is deep roasted with tar, charcoal, coffee and chocolate. Thick creamy mouthfeel. The flavor is huge roasted with chocolate, charcoal, coffee and fudge. Long sweet roasted finish. Nice!
3.9 On tap at Cafe Sara, may 5th 2017. Black body with no head. Aroma of licorice, alcohol, dark fruit. Taste is sweet and boozy with licorice, coffee, fruity in finish. A big and robust stout!

3.9 Z: lekkie przyprawy, Czekolada. Beczka fajna. Troche wanilia, troche fajne also. S: Czekolada, lekkie przyprawy troche zielone przyprawy. Kurde fajne zlozone.
Pizzy Nie czuc. Duzo slodycz. Delikatna paloność.
3.7 17/20 really smooth, really boozy, big coffee taste with fruits, hints of sherry, massive taste and no burn at all
4.3 Black color with really dark brown foam. Aroma has intense roasted malt, lots of sweetness, umami, whiskey, rum, dried fruits. Taste is also really intense with malt syrup, sweet and sticky, umami, roasted malts, a bit meaty, slightly smokey, dried candied fruits, salted caramel, more bitter and roasty on the finish. Medium plus body, quite sticky on the palate, low carbonation. Quite intense and not really boozy in spite of the very high ABV.
3.9 2018/02/05 - Pours oily jet black with a with a thin tan head that quickly dissipates. Aroma is rich milk chocolate, fudge, vanilla, wood notes, anise, molasses with light coffee roast and hints of dark fruit. Taste is sweet rich chocolate, alcohol, vanilla, molasses, fudge, light roast and port-like notes. Mouthfeel is thick and sticky with little to no carbonation and a sweet, warming finish. Dessert. Not nearly as boozy as I would have expected at 16%. Well done.
4.0 From bottle @Barley Mow, Bristol. Tiny dark head, pitch black colour. Aroma: dark chocolate, toffee, vanilla, alcohol. Lightly acidic with strong and deep alcohol sweetness. Full body, thick, oily, soft carbonation. Nicely balanced.
3.7 Bottle split at Cotts Convention III, thanks to Shane, 20/05/17. Pitch black with a decent tan cap. Nose is sweet malts, light spice, dark fruits, charr, rich chocolate streak. Taste comprises dark chocolate melt, black peppery spice, roast malts, charr, dark fruit notes, toffee fudge. Full bodied, fine carbonation, rising boost in the close. Big ballsy impy ... masks the hefty ABV a touch but lacks some depth for me.
3.7 pitch3 dark no head bitter hopoy solid roasted malty. flavor is roasted malts toffee

3.2 Drank previously but didn't have time to rate at that particular time. just getting around to it.
3.9 Bottle shared at Cotteridge wines, Cotteridge Convention III 20/05/2017. Many thanks! An oily jst black coloured pour with a dark dirty tan head. Aroma is oily, bitter liquorice, spicy oak. 4.3 On tap at Leeds International Beer Festival, 2017. Black, medium lasting tan head. Lots of chocolate, heavy malts, dark fruit, licorice, complex, sweet, real dessert. Oily and thick. Full bodied. Quite drinkable considering the ABV.
4.7 Stunning. Big and rich stout with liquorice, dried fruit, roast malt. Thick, slick mouthfeel. Sweet and bitter with boozy hit. Drinks well for 16% and never felt like hard work. A totally wonderful half hour drinking thus.
3.6 Keg at All In Beer Fest 2017 cons 2017-11-03/04 AR: sweet caramel, fish oil AP: thick oily black, wee head F: heavy roasted, oily, bitter dark bitter chocolate, fish oil
4.1 Bottle. Colour...as black as a moonless night in the Black Forest, with no head at all. Nose... immensely sugary with burnt white sugar, muscovado, turbinado, and 100% cocoa mass chocolate. Palate...oh man! Intensely cloying and coating! Loads of ethanol here ( perhaps the 16% abv-duh!) and deep dark fruits galore. Molasses hits the mid palate along with anise, licorice fern root and soapstone. The finish is very long and reminiscent of a Don Pedro Jimenez sherry.
4.0 Bottle shared by TomHendriksen @ tasting. Opaque pitch black color, small dark brown colored head that lasts for a decent while. Aroma is malts, dark malts, dark liquor soaked raisins. Taste malts, dark malts, dark raisins, liquor, a light hint of peat and decently bitter. Medium body, oily texture, suitable decent carbonation. Heavy!
