Lervig Hop Drop Sour

Lervig Hop Drop Sour

We love our sour beers and we love our IPAs. In this case we made our favourites come together for this tart and hoppy IPA. A massive amount of hops were dumped into this sour to give the zing a little zang. Light bitterness and medium tartness with serious hop aroma and flavors make this beer a very easy drinker. Don’t wait. Drink fresh.

Clear, golden colour with small grei head. Citrus, a little bit sour, funky (more when warmer) beer, light on feeling with astringent bitterness, quite tasty.
3.6 Keg from Kilder, Digbeth. Mid- to dark gold, cloudy with almost no head. Misty, slightly basement-y aroma with soft fruit peel. Exquisite. Taste is tart rather than full-on sour, and the intensity of the complex fruity bitter hop adds depth and subtlety. Long sour/bitter finish. Oily mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Orange an passionfruit juice in the aftertaste. Very nice.
3.7 33 cl. can @ home, served in a teku glass, 2019/06/19. Aroma: quite intense aromas of tropical fruits, grapefruit, citrus, resin, pine. Hints of cereals, grains, malts, flowers, grass. Appearance: light gold to light amber color with slightly off-white head. Medium head thickness with low to medium retention and low Brussels' lacing. Medium haziness. Taste: low sweetness, low to medium bitterness, low to medium sourness. Flavors of tropical fruits, grapefruit, pine, resin, citrus, sour stone fruits. Hints of malts, wheat, cereals, grains, grass, flowers in the background. Quite well balanced, the bitterness and the sourness mix very well and the cereals and malts flavors backbone add more layers of flavors. Palate: low to medium body, watery to oily texture, low to medium carbonation, medium long dry and sour finish with low to medium bitterness and sourness and the same aforementioned flavors. Alcohol is very well hidden: no alcohol aromas or flavors, only a very light throat and mouth warming. Very low astringency. Overall: good looking, intense aromas and flavors of tropical fruits, pine, resin, grapefruit, citrus and hints of malts, cereals, grains, wheat. Very refreshing and drinkable. Quite good and delicious beer.

3.2 Canned, 330ml from Favourite Beers, Cheltenham, Gloucs. Hazy gold with big white head. A bit explosive on pulling the tab. Not overly sour in my opinion, just a tad tart, some lemon hopped notes, lightly floral, grassy. It's all rather restrained really but it's okay.
