Lervig Passion Tang

Lervig Passion Tang

We fermented an oat rich sour ale with our house ale yeast, then added brettanomyces trois in the secondary fermentation along with passion fruit. Grains of paradise were also into the mix, giving this beer a tropical, floral yet woody character. This beer bridges those who don’t really like beer to craft beer

MALT: PALE, MUNICH, CARAMALT
HOPS: ELLA, VICTORIA SECRET
YEAST: AMERICAN ALE, BRETTANOMYCES TROIS
SPICES: GRAINS OF PARADISE

3.7 0.33l can. Pours clear golden with quickly diminishing white head. Lots of passion fruit and sourness pretty much. Nice body with balance in the taste.
3.4 Keg at Heidrun, 07/03/20. Very light haze on a golden pour with an off white covering. Nose is mellow citric peel, tangy tropical fruits, passionfruit evident, damp hay, wet cloth. Taste comprises passionfruit yoghurt, grass, damp straw, lemon drizzle, lactic tang. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a mellow pucker. Ok passionfruit lead sour, file more under refresher as not overly sour or complex.
3.4 Can 330ml at home. From Alko web shop. BBE 2021-08-15. Pours clear golden with thin white head. Aroma and taste have passion fruit, peach, sweet berries, faint sourness. Medium body, average carbonation, sourish finish.
3.4 Tap at Hotic 2020. Near clear dark golden with white head. Dank passion fruit, soft sour grain, light vanilla touch. Moderate sweet and bitter, light sour. Medium body and soft carbonation.
3.7 Tap, Lajbah. Slightly hazy, dark golden, thin nonlasting white head. Very tropical nose, sweet fruits and lots of candy, bubblegum, sweet juicy multifruit juice. Gently soury, some fruitiness. Tart feel in the back. Mild bitterness. Light body. Fresh. Interesting.
3.7 On tap at Lager Lager, pours a clear copper with a small white head. Aroma is loaded with passionfruit tang, along with gentle citrus, and a little lacto. Flavour almost has an ice tea-like character, with subdued passionfruit, Snapple ice tea, and a touch of lacto. Fruity and gentle tangy. Not on the level of what I expected from Lervig, but it’s not bad.
3.4 Fat på Bishops, Örebro. Klar guldig med vit krona. Doftar jordgubb. Smakar jordgubb, smultron, citrus och kanske lite passionsfrukt. Snäll syrlighet, sälta, funk, brett och fatton. Lite vass beska i avslutningen som stör något.
3.2 Good aroma of passion fruit. Watery, malt and passion fruit in taste. Slightly sour aftertaste that fills the front of the mouth for a long time. Good beer. Follow me @ Kung av öl @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings.
2.5 330ml can at the Horse & Stables, Lambeth North. Murky amber with no head. Aroma of passionfruit, tart fruit and mild vinegar. Fairly sweet and a little syrupy.
3.4 Tap at FB. Amber. Juniper and passion, salty tart. medium body Dry chalk, salt, spice and fermented passion fruit.
4.0 On tap at the Tap Takeover, Frisches Bier, München, Wednesday 9th October 2019. Pours deep amber, quite a lot going on but so much passion fruity, zappy in the mouth, sour but not overly so, soft, super fruity, this is marvellous.
3.9 Served on tap at Sola airport. A little flat. Very aromatic for a sour. Citrus, tangerine marmalade, fresh and delightful
4.0 From can at Craft at Sola Airport with JFE 03.10.19. Translucent orange. Not much head. Aroma and taste of sour citrus, marmalade, tangarines, mandarines and sweet malt. Good!
3.5 A slightly above average sour. Good balance, just lacking a bit of super clean drinkability for me. Craft beer store hamburg
3.3 Bottle backlog May 2017. Unclear reddish orange body with a small white head. Aroma is fruity/berry like with some acidity. Flavor is sour fruit, berries, ripe fruit and passion fruit. Medium body and average aftertaste. Decent fruity beer thats both sweet and sour. Not very complex.
3.4 Pours a pale mahogany coloration with a ruby hue and a medium, fizzy head that quickly fades to nothing. Smells of very light caramel malt, tangy passion fruit and just a hint of citric acidity. Taste follows the nose, being dominated by sweet'ish, very lightly caramelly malt and vibrant, tart passion fruit, as well as just a hint of citrus. Finishes quite sweet, with a light tartness and some passion fruit lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation. This is a bit too sweet and not quite tart/acidic enough for my personal taste, while also feeling just a tad artificial and too high in ABV for the style. Still a decent Kettle Sour, but doesn't come together all that well.
3.7 Bottle. Brown reddish color With vurtually no head. Nice fruity aroma With strong notes of passion. Nice ballanced flavor. Sweet and sour.
3.5 0,33 litre Can from Vinmonopolet Bergen Storsenter. Orange/ Golden with little head. Malts, hops, Fruity, sour, Passionfruit.
2.3 Quite funky!
3.3 Tap at The Knott. Heavy bubblegum and candy aroma, passion fruit and orange. Hazy orange color with medium sized white head. Way too much candy, sugar and sweetness, fresh peaches and apricots, apricot jam. Medium body, soft carbonation, sticky. Doesn't really work for me due to too much sweetness and candy.
2.4 Tnx to Kaspars. Nice jruity kick, but light body and watery texture makes it a bit off-beer to me. Medium sour.
3.2 TCBW19. Lots of passion fruit. Definitely. Golden beer. One dimensional with just passion fruit. Maybe some other tropical fruits but kinda average.
3.1 Tap at TCBW. Copper colour, small white head. Light passionfruity nose. Light-bodied. Passiofruit, some tartness. Crisp, simple.
3.3 Tap @ TCBW. Clear orange with off-white head. Passionfruit, peach, fruit candy. Light, slightly sour, a hint of salt. Ok but not fancy.
3.6 Fles 33cl thuis. Zacht, zuren, fris, flink fruitig, passievrucht, zoetig, rode bes, rood fruit, licht droog en fizzy. (17-2-2019).
3.7 On tap at All in beer fest, Gothenburg 2018. Golden with white head. Gentle refreshing sour with passion fruit.
3.0 Copper color, off-white head. Passion fruit nose, barnyard, cheese, berries, oxidized notes. Passion fruit taste, sweet, floral, ripe melon, berries, sour. Medium body, average to soft carbonation. 5, 3, 6, 4, 12
