Lervig Sour Suzy

Lervig Sour Suzy

A thirst quenching session beer, Sour Suzy mimics a classic German brewing technique (sour mashing) to impart a light, refereshing tartness. No hop bitterness and very low hop profile, Sour Suzy is not your typical session beer - rather it delivers something a bit more obscure and intriguing. It drinks as refreshingly as a glass of lemonade. The grain bill includes a healthy portion of wheat, while citrussy hops lend bright notes to the aroma, which is accentuated by the addition of Makrut lime leaves.

Malts: Pilsner and wheat. Hops. Styrian Golding.

Food pairings: seafood (white fish, mussels, crab) or as a palate cleanser between dishes.

3.3 21.03.2020, puszka z datą do 16.04.2020 Lekko zbożowe, cytrynowe, umiarkowanie kwaśne. Ciało niskie, ale nie wodniste. Wytrawne. Orzeźwiające.
1.9 Clear yellow color with a small white head. I think this beer taste a little funny, maybe not what I expected. Light sour taste, kind of boring in my opinion.
3.3 Bottle 0.33L. Almost clear golden color with small, fizzy white head that disipate in few seconds. Aroma of malt, cardboard, hay and funky touch. Taste is citrusy and light sour. Light to medium body, watery texture and lively carbonation. Light and refreshing.
3.4 Clear yellow, small white head. Clean lacto plus some veggies / roots, good bready / doughy notes. Thinnish, bready doughy rather than sharp lacto. Okish.
3.4 On tap @Cimmeria, Oviedo 12/09/2019 Color amarillo claro corona de espuma blanca, aromas a acidos, sabor acido, notas herbales, cuerpo ligero, floja
3.1 Kinda boring pale carbonated pour. Light and breezy. Has a fizzy buzz, mild sourness that is actually nicely subtle. Drinkable throughout, the mildness helps.
3.7 Canned 0,33L. Pale yellow color, much bubbly aspect, fizzy, light and escaping white head. Citric and yeasty aroma, notes of pale malt, citrus, lime, orange peel. Refreshing and crisp palate, watery and fizzy texture, notes of citrus, malt, resin, yeast and grapefruit final.
3.1 Can from Brendan's Brewtique,. Golden in a colour, with a slight haze and thin, white, head. Carbonation was quite fizzy. Aroma of grainy malts with some tart lemon. Flavour had more lemon, with some rather thin malts and some sourness in the finish. Ok.
3.8 Clasikazo...no falla
3.2 33 cl. can shared with Alex and Suus @ Alex and Suus. Clear golden with a thin white head. Malty acidic aroma with some citrus. Acidic taste with a sour finish. Nice little Berliner Weisse.
2.0 Pale and sparkling blonde, foam instantly gone. Aromas of malt, lemon with a taste acidic of lemon and citrus. Mineral and sharp, I hope that's not the future of beer.
3.0 Puszka. Aromat cytrynowy, suszone liście, lekkie mydełko. Ciało niskie, wodniste, średnia kwasnosc, znowu te liście w smaku. Ujdzie
3.0 Bottle. Nearly clear golden colour with a small white head, nose is malty, yeasty and acidic with notes of lemon and hints of exotic fruits, taste is slightly sweet, sour and bready with a hint of exotic spices, a tart and sour finish and a somewhat nutty aftertaste.
3.3 Starts with a very promising fruity nose and ends with normal very solid style characteristics. Very sessionable.
3.2 Bottled 330ml. -at Pivoteka Zagreb. Yellow/paaleee golden coloured, minimal white head, mild wheaty nose with whiff of acidity. Bready, wheaty, light fruity with touch of citrus and grain with mild lime notes in the finish. Drinkable but quite flat.
3.5 Light cloudy straw color, tiny white head. Citrus nose with lime, lactic, light malty with wheat notes. Light sour taste, citrus, minerals, yogurt, hint of grapes, short finish, mild. Light body, average carbonation. 6, 4, 7, 4, 14
2.0 Enjoyed: Poured from a bottle into tulip glass. Appearance: Blurry honey colour, loud and short-lived head. Aroma: Wheat, grass, hint of honey, hint of citrus. Palate: Medium body; crispy carbonation. Taste: Citrus, very sour, wheat. Overall impression: Not my style. Not so drinkable, too sour. Maybe it is good in some occasions (maybe after some sports?).
2.6 0,33l can. Pours cloudy golden with white head. Aroma of lactic acid, fruity, hint of lemon juice. Taste is mildly sour, peaches, sour milk (lactic acid), lemon juice. Aroma and taste are both vague.
3.1 33cl can from Pastures Discount foods. no head. Hazy golden pour. Sour aftertaste. Not my cup of tea.
3.4 Gelblich, leicht trüb, wenig Schaum. Zitrusaromen und sauer. Geradlinig. Erfrischend
3.5 Can at het Doerak, Delft: Hazy yellow colored brew with an brilliant sour taste and perfect hints of lemons. Norway meets Berlin.
2.9 14-08-2018; bottle; at home (bought somewhere in/near Voss, Norway). The looks of the beer are nice. It appears to be a crisp Berliner Weisse. The color of the beer is a rather pale golden yellow. On top a nice layer of rough fast collapsing white foam is formed. It is slightly hazy, but not to much. All in all, a nice looking beer. Pretty style specific. The smell of the beer is fine. It is a bit mild maybe. I smell some simple grainy malt notes with a hay-like touch. The hops aren't really clearly present. Hops give some fruity aromas, slightly sour and tart with a touch of dead yeast creating a meat like sensation. Could be a bit more refined. In the taste the tart and sour aromas of a good Berliner Weisse really come apparent. Fruity and crisp, but not to strong. A bit mildly. The taste is a bit mild to. Some sweet fruity and malty notes and sour tart yeast. Hops give some bitters. All is quite watery and thin. It is not as crisp as you'd expect from a Berliner Weisse. It isn't bad, but just a bit 'safe'. The palate of the beer is fine. Light body, slightly sticky and thin and high carbonation. The finish is rather short and watery. It has some tart yeast but not enough for a Berliner Weisse. Expected more of this brew.
2.5 Bottle. Malty aroma, yeasty notes, light hay notes. Tastes the same as aroma, light sour, extra light bitter. Light body, malty sour dry finish. Average.
2.9 Bottle, 0.33l. Aroma of wheat, yeast, lacto and flowers. Pours cloudy deep golden color with totally diminishing white head and sparkling appearance. Taste starts light sweet and sour grainy, following is citrusy, lactic and malty, while mouthfeel is crisp and dry without any mentionable finish. Light body, thin texture and lively carbonation in palate. Boring Suzy...
2.9 Blikje. Lichtgeel bier, zwak wit schuim (snel weg). Lekker fris zurig; bruisend, een proseco lijkt het wel (en een beetje op een frisdrank omdat je de alcohol niet merkt). Prettig bier, maar niet schokkend.
3.1 Fresh, balanced flavours, average appearance. Missing complexity of the berliner both in flavour and aroma
3.1 330ml can (best before 18/1/19). Hazy light golden body, small disappearing white head. Nose has gentle lactic sourness, a bit of lemony citrus and malt grains. Flavour is lightly sour, milky, zesty citrus finish. Refreshing sessionable palate, light-medium body, slick texture, soft carbonation. A decent example of the style.
2.4 Yep, it is really sour, but that's not the problem. The quickly disappearing foam, the watery texture and the strong fizziness is.
2.7 0.33l bottle thanks to Lore. Slightly murky yellow body with practically no head. Aroma of white wine and lemon juice with cellar notes and some yeast. Taste of grains, white wine, lemon juice and some green apples. Quite straightforward, but refreshing beer.
