3.3 Cervesa suau on predominen els tocs torrats i a xocolata dolça. Cerveza suave donde predominan los toques tostados y a chocolate dulce.
3.7 Draft. The aroma is very chocolatey, not a lot of smoke which is good. Some coffee. The taste is smooth, full of coffee and chocolate. Nice!
2.4 Vom Fass in Montreal. Schwarze Farbe. Bräunlicher Schaum. Kaffee und Schwarzbrot Aroma. Geschmack ok, zu viel Kaffee.
2.6 Draft - Dark malts and some cocoa. Deep Amber brown with a decent beige head. Toast and vegetal notes.
2.1 On tap at Les 3 Brasseurs Mondeville. Poured almost black topped with a small tan colored head. Mild roasty aroma with some mild coffee notes. No real taste of this one. Just some watered down coffee taste. Poor one, really.
3.5 On tap at Les 3 Brasseurs Appearance: Dark clear brown. Aroma: Malt Flavours: Malt and brown sugar. Mouthfeel: Thinner with light carbonation. Overall: Decent Brown ale and easy drinking.
3.2 Draught as "Les 3 Brasseurs Brune" @ Les 3 Brasseurs, Montreal, QC Pours reddish brown with a off-white head. Aroma had notes of malt, caramel , light roasted and floral. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with a long caramel, fruity and grassy finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft
3.6 On tap at the Montreal brewpub, as Brune. It pours an almost clear body, auburn color, topped by a finger-thick beige head. The aroma is lightly roasted, with some coffee, nuts and bread. There’s a nice bitterness in the flavor, as well as the roasted malts, bread, nuts and caramel known from the aroma. Some sweetness, but it ain’t really sweet. Full body, soft carbonation and a lasting finish. Tasteful and almost refreshing this one. 150612
3.4 Draught, 3 Brasseurs, Lille. Overall pleasant, typical British style, complex aroma.
2.9 Una bruna non eccezionale, aroma tostato, sapore di malto con leggera dominanza tostata, media carbonazione. Buona ma non mi ha entusiasmato
3.0 On tap at Les 3 Brasseurs St-Denis. Clear brown with a thin beige head. Flavors are roasted cereals, chocolate and caramel with nutty and fruity notes. Medium body, moderate carbonation, smooth texture. Decent Brown Ale
4.1 On tap at Les 3 Brasseurs, Lille. Good in many respects, particulary strong and visible taste. Rich palete.
3.4 Brown (not too dark) with small beige head. Roasted caramel bitterness with a hint of coffee note, watery.
3.3 Aroma: The aromas are of roasted malt, burnt bread and a hint of roasted coffee beans. Appearance: The beer is dark brown, almost charcoal, an off-white head that leaves little lacing. Taste: The taste is sweet as of brown sugar, dried plums and bitter dark roasted coffee beans. Palate: Medium carbonation, rather simple and fresh body, a dry finish. Overall: Quite decent, I could have taken it for a (milk) stout. One of their best beers. Note: on-tap in Montreal. Reviewed 2010-09-13.
2.5 On tap. Dark clear brown pour, mahogany highlights. Thin pale head without any retention. Nut and lightly roasted malt affair, some caramel and light bitterness in the finish. Body a bit thin.
2.9 On tap (10-30). Pours reddish brown with low beige head. Aroma is of caramel, sugar, toasted bread. Taste is of roasted malt, bitterness, slight smoke/ashes, some licorice. Cola. Off fruits. Palate: Medium body. Soft carbonation. Overall: OK.
2.6 Tasted 18/3/15. Draught at Led 3 Brasseurs, Lille, France. Poured a murky semi-opaque mid-brown colour with 5mm of light tan foamy head that diminished slowly to a collar that laced poorly. Carbonation low and fine. Aroma of semi-sweet caramel. Taste of sweet caramel followed by a slight roasted malt. Light body. Smooth, semi-sweet and with a slight but lingering bitterness on the finish. OK. Better than the same brand tried in Toronto, Canada. Certainly not a stout.
2.3 On tap @ Les 3 Brasseurs Old Montreal. Roasty seltzer water nose. A lot of burnt grain, some coffee, and raisin. Not great... Flavor is pretty bitter and roasty. It’s quite watery and thin. Like a bad cup of coffee. Grassy, earthy bitterness and some raisin astringency.
3.0 16.02.2015. On tap at Les 3 Brasseurs, Toronto, Canada. As Brown. Brown colour. Clear. Off-White head. Aroma of dark malts. Good malty body. Sweet with a caramel note. Not so much bitterness. Soft with malt domination. Aftertaste is quite dry and leaves a dry mouth.
3.1 Pours a medium brown with a thin beige head that leaves nice lacing. Nose is of slight chocolate and nuts, served too cold maybe? Taste is of roasted malt and nuts, dry. Light bitter. Body was light, carbonation high and mouthfeel watery. This didn’t feel like a stout nor a scotch ale, I say it is a simple and sessionable english brown ale? Not bad but just too light and watery to be truely interesting.
3.3 Waiting on a train in Lille I tried 4 tasters. This was was advertised as Brune, and it was certainly not a stout. Nice clear deep dark brown color. Light beige head. Aroma’s: caramel, dark malts, with roast, drop/licorice, and caramel/sweetness retronasal. Flavor is moderate sweet, light roasted. Light bodied. Finishes somewhat roasted, droppig, light bitter. Like everything I tried here not spectacular, but decent.
3.0 Piuttosto scura caffe cioccolato banana discrete tostature leggeta nota fruttata una nota erbacea amaro contenuto
3.2 Quel dommage, cette brune a la robe clair semble prometteuse en terme d’aromes cafe et chocolat mais son absence de rondeur gache un peu la fete et son manque de longueur.
3.7 On tap @ The 3 Brewers Kanata. Pours a dark brown with a medium size off-white head. Aromas are nuts, coffe, and chalk. Tastes are mild chocolate, lots of roast, and bitter nuts. Good carbonation, medium body and a medium bitter and dry finish. Nice beer! ---Rated via Beer Buddy
2.9 Poured from a tap. Clear brown color, small white head. Mild sour milk aroma. Medium body with a light sweet flavor with a medium finish.
2.9 On tap at The 3 Brewers bar in Toronto. Mahogany with a cream head; tea aroma; sweet caramel taste.
2.9 On tap at the Kanata location. Dark brown body, small beige head average retention. Aroma of burned toast, light coffee, caramel. Taste of same burned toast, caramel, a touch more coffee. The best I’ve tasted on that day, but still subpar.
3.3 Oaky brown, lighter than expected. Not bad, better than expected roasted and milk chocolate malts. Nothing strong or rich in interesting, but okay despite the too clean yeast. Taste isn’t bad too, with roasted notes there. Clean simple aftertaste yet easy to drink. Watery perhaps. Boring but quite drinkable.
2.7 Dark brown colour. Dark malt aroma and taste. Some bittersweet caramel too. Reasonable balance and decent body.
