3.4 Bottle - 750mL corked and caged. Label shows été 2009 and 10% ABV. Murky copper with a fizzy white head. Nose is sweet and fruity with wheat notes and tons of yeast. Taste is sweet malt, ripe fruit, light banana, bubblegum, wheat, flowers, Belgian yeast and candy. Body is light-medium with sugary stickiness and a strong, effervescent carbonation. Ends with more sweet malt, wheat, candy, ripe fruits, artificial banana, bubblegum and yeast notes.
2.1 2009 Bottle from South Bay Drugs: Created a fizzy and violent formation of bubbly head while the liquid was a hazy glowing orange hue. As for the nose, there was a spicy strain of yeast that also had notes of fruit such as banana and strawberry. The flavor starts off tart with a tangy touch of sweetness, but then the spices take over control and dominate this beer during the remainder of the drink. With each sip I become more and more tired of drinking this, and it almost becomes unbearable at times. Going to take hours before I can finish this beer and it will only be because I don’t want to waste my money. Not a tasty and well rounded beer in my opinion, but it could be that the yeast has started to deteriorate due to old age of the shelf life of this bottle.
1.6 2009 bottle. Pours cloudy burnt orange color with off white head. Aromas of wheat, corriander and clove. Medicinal wheat and corriander flavor. Medium body with moderate carbonation. This one is going down the drain. I hope this is a bad bottle because it tastes horrible. Disappointing because I have really enjoyed the beers I have had from this brewery.
4.2 Bottle sampled at SIB, pours hazy golden yellow. Aroma of yeast, banana and sweetness. Flavour of banana, lots of sweetness, wheat, clove and citrus. Excellent wheat ale.
2.6 This won’t be good. Bright, slightly hazy orange brew, small skiff of foam. The aroma is pretty mild - some orange, some wheat a bit of spice, nutmeg? Taste: heavy wheat, alcohol, orangey sort of, it’s like some variation of a belgian ale. Too much alcohol, light hops, nutmeg, allspice? huh?? Some harshness, alcohol on the finish. Notice a trend? Once again, impy wheat is a terrible idea.
2.8 Burnt orange body with no cap just a bubble ring hugging the glass, it’s a beautiful looking beer to bad it has no crown but what do you expect at 10%. Aroma is of wood and stink with some pool water, wheaty type malts and a alcohol spice. Taste is much of the same witha very heavy malts taste a big alcohol finish, apple and spice do show up but that much. I can drink this, it’s not like I hate it and it evens seems to be of a high quality I just think this style is not for me.
3.9 750 ml bottle; thanks to Sammy for the trade; dirty gold with slight haze and white head fading quickly; odd aromas of bready wheat, some lemon and dirty grass; soft mouthfeel and medium bodied; chewy wheat, bread and tangerines; on the sweet side with malty sugars and lemony wheat; quite yummy overall and unique; get honey in the finish with some rich wheat
3.4 Pours a cloudy orange gold brown color with a half sticking white head. Aroma is that of banana, oranges, fruits and malt. Taste is sweet and yet spicy at the same time. There is also a note of alcohol in the taste. As for the finish, there is not a lot of bitterness.
3.6 Bottle, stored at 5 degrees Celsius for the past year. Pours a cloudy bright orange with a finely bubble dense light orange head. Aroma is fresh apricots, corky yeast and barley candy. Palate is sweet with spicy stone fruit flavours, musty yeast, and notes chamomile or dried flowers of some kind. Finish is slightly tart, without any hint of the ABV. Better than I thought it would be, to be honest.
2.6 WTF? this is a wierd one. Aroma is of fermenting fruit mash and vinegar. Not at all what I was expecting. Hazy brownish orange colour, not much head/lacing. Flavour is slow to come on but goes through many changes once it hits you, it’s a pretty wierd assault on your tounge. Malt and then the fruit flavour, a bit of sourness like vineger but then sweetness comes on. It’s getting slightly more palatable as I drink it but this will be the last one I have.
2.8 Pours a caramel colour with a large white head. The aroma is grassy, buttery, and smells like creamed corn. The flavor is extremely buttery and tastes like corn. Almost buttered popcorn, but not as good. Some banana, grass, and spicy hops show but this beer is a dud for me. Diacetyl all over the place.
3.7 Pours hazy orange with a thick foamy head. Nice aroma light and complex with notes of banana and cotton candy. very full bodied lots of flavour. banana and malt. a bit alcoholic with a very distinct canned corn flavour. The beer it almost buttery like a nice chardonay. Nice brew.
3.4 Bottle served in a footed pisner. Orange label - Summer Wheat Ale. 8.0% abv. Clear orange in color with a large fluffy white head which lasts a while and leaves considerable lacing. Aroma is apricot, orange, wet hay, and a little alcohol. Medium body, soft carbonation. Texture is pretty thick and slightly creamy. Flavor is orange wheat that slowly bitters to orange peel. The wheat isn’t overly heavy which is nice. Good stuff.
3.3 Bottle. Poured a clear medium orange color. The head was fluffy and white with good retention and lacing. Smelled of unripe fruit, a splash of white vinegar, and hay. Medium bodied and slightly sweet with orange and distinct wheat notes. Not too shabby.
2.5 Bottle. Pours a murky orange brown with a small white head. Aroma of stale wheat and odd sugary malt. Flavor of sweet orange chewable vitamins and old malt. Probably an old bottle (although I don’t know for sure). This was pretty disgusting, but I will try to update my rating if I can get a fresher bottle. 5/3/4/3/10 [2.5/5]
3.7 Pours a orangish brown with a small white head. Aroma is orange, wheat and hop. Taste is complex and well balanced. Orange hues with wheat, yeast and hop with the bitter bite of alcohol. Very nice beer. Had the 2009 version.
3.2 Bottle:   Pale amber, orangish hued, sediment abounds, moderate fluffy white head, spotty lacing.   This one is probably a few years old as its the 8% version.   Pale breadiness, softer wheatiness, smidgen of butterscotch.   Soft sweet wheatiness on the tongue.   Time has taken its toll on this one as it seems very subdued.   Has a bit of a warming finish.   Clean, a little bready and slight cardboard on the exit.   Probably wouldn’t have aged as well had it not been an "Imperial" version.   I would think it lost some of its body, not as bubbley as I would of thought fresh.   Still entertaining, still fairly tasty, but can tell its over the hill.   Surprisingly as it warms it remains fairly clean on the exit.   Cardboard and butterscotch diminish.   Interested in trying this 10% version.
2.4 pours a golden honey color that is slightly cloudy with a medium foamy white head...dissipates quickly but returns with some agitation. aroma is funky and tart with a bit of citrus. flavor is like a poor attempt at a homebrewed belgian triple...yeasty sweetness with some boring hops. mouthfeel is kind of watery despite the syrupy sweetness. the finish is hoppy and lingering and reminds me of a belgian triple.
3.2 750ml from Bonisoir, Montreal. Surprisingly dark pour, a murky amber with moderate carbonation that tends to be swallowed up somewhat quickly. Faint citric hops in the aroma, but mostly sweet malts and booze up the wazz. Slick, somewhat creamy mouthfeel but the overall effect is sharp, boozy, and too sweet overall. Not so hot.
3.1 Aroma is spicy, clove. Pours cloudy orange-brown, high carbonation. Alcohol is too prominent, but there is some bitterness. This is an unusual beer, doesn’t taste like any weizen i’ve ever had. Don’t really know what to make of it.
3.4 750ml bottle, 2009 version with yellow label. Pours hazy golden with a small head. Head is short lived. Aroma is spicy with some wheat and fruity peaches. Lots of spices. Taste is alcoholic with lots of spices. Some wheat and fruity peaches. Overall quite spicy.
3.4 Bottle. Pours a hazy golden body with a lavish white head. Wheat tones; banana and pear like esters, tart fruit, honey, hints of berry and a spicy wheat finish. Modest warming fruit comes out a bit overtly sweet.
3.0 Bottle 2009 Vintage. Banana and wheat nose, alcohol esters, cherries and ginger. Taste is wheaty, apricot, pineapple, alcohol, spice. Average mouthfeel, a little too carbonated for my taste nice appearance reddish orange color with some head. Anyways, drunk with awesome friends.
3.2 11.5 oz. bottle. 8% ABV. pours a thin head of good duration with slight lacing, over a slightly hazy, golden (SRM 8) body.....nose has peach, banana, honey, some floral tones and cereal.....taste initially slightly sweet cereal, then dry Grapenut tones, finishes dry.....mouth feel is fairly light, carbonation medium. This is a pleasant, but not particularly note worthy Wheat Ale. Based on the comments of others I need to explore this Brewery more.
3.5 2009 Festival Bières et Saveurs . Cuvee series at 10%. Orange cloudy with a small white head. A full mouthfeel that boldly hits your tastebuds, and hardly lets go. A little tart, pineapple and the wheat. Not greatly drinkable today, last beer of the day, bit could be remarkable with the right food pairing. Another well crafted beer from this brewery.
3.4 Bottle. Light nose. Peachy golden, low creamy head. Fermented fruit, apples pears, a bit spice, light alcohol, Estery aftertaste.
2.6 Summer 2009 bottle listed at 10%. A little disappointed in this beer since I was blown away by their Doppelbock and Weizenbock varieties. Pours a hazy yellow-orange color with very little head. Alcohol and bananas are detected in the aroma. Taste is rather sharp, bananas an citrus come through but are overpowered by alcoholic heat and a sticky sweetness that leaves me quite unrefreshed...especially on a deathly humid Montreal evening. Not sure what happened here, though I still hold the brewery in high regard.
2.9 The aroma is faint, with a minor amount of malty and alcohol aromas, some minor coriander spice. Absolutely drab in appearance. The head is non-existent. the body is a clean mellow copper color, expected so much more. 3 Musketeers has really muted flavors, soft especially considering this an Imperial Weizen, with some farmhouse alcohol flavors, mostly some mild spice, and some oaken flavors. The beer is especially effervescent, which is surprising because it does not show up in the head. Good finish of spice and alcohol.
3.5 Fierce for a wheat ale. Clear copper color with a white head. Decent lacing. Aroma of wheat, alcohol, and grain. Flavor-wheat, grain, and a touch of alcohol. Big beer for a summer beer.
3.5 Hazy orange with a thin white head. Aroma is RICH and pungent: grain, citrus, honey and cognac. Flavor is sharp and tangy, mildly grainy with a nice sweetness. Bittersweet finish. Very good.
