Our Kentucky Ale® is aged for up to six weeks in freshly decanted bourbon barrels from some of Kentucky’s finest distilleries. Subtle yet familiar flavors of vanilla and oak are imparted to this special ale as it rests in the charred barrels. Pleasantly smooth and robust, Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale may also be served as an aperitif or after-dinner drink. Launched in 2006, it has grown to become the flagship beer of the premier name in barrel-aged beers: Alltech Lexington Brewing and Distilling Company.

3.6 Surprisingly not overbearing in barrel flavor. Enjoyable, a little sweet
3.7 Bottle into Belgian goblet. Dark copper with thin head. Mild caramel, vanilla and oak aroma. Taste a little different than expected. Typical red ale notes with some mellowed sweetness from the bourbon barrel. Some caramel and vanilla notes in the taste. Bourbon not as strong as expected. More hop bitterness on the finish than expected with the ABV and barrel aging.
3.5 Good tasting, not strong or hoppy. Really enjoy as a sound daily beverage....
3.0 Bottle. Clear orange color, white head. Malty aroma, light sweetness. Flavor is grainy, bread and light sweetness. Not really pulling a whole lot of bourbon. Some bitterness, maybe oak. More bready than anything.
3.4 Not A bad ale Nice color good taste Woodranch again
4.6 8.2% Creamy ale with bourbon and wheat flavors
3.7 Bottle from Hy-Vee, Shadow Lake. Poured copper, off white head. Aroma of bourbon, caramel, brown sugar, spice. Taste was mild sweet, bourbon, vanilla, caramel, wood/oak, brown sugar.
3.3 Shared with Wim at his home. Amber colored beer with small white head and no carbonation. Fruited herby aroma. Full palate. Finish is bitter sweet alcoholic.
3.1 On tap at Dive 106. Pours red brown. Vanilla, bourbon, very strong bourbon, biscuit, caramel. Medium body. Bit much.
3.4 330ml bottle from Beer 2 Go in Ivanteveyka. Pours clear dark orange with a thin off-white head. Aroma is bourbon, caramel, wood. Taste is medium sweet, bourbon, caramel, faint barrel. Sweet and slightly boozey finish.
2.6 Clear cognac-coloured beer, finely carbonated under a medium, yellowish to yellow head, reasonably stable. Alcoholic nose, brandy, Bourbon, vanilla, young oak, all the classics. Sweet, very sweet, vanilla. Nearly as ice-cream, sundaes; the alcohol strengthening the sweetness to cloying. Boozy syrup. Awfully, disgustingly sweet concoction.
3.0 Bottle. Pours a hazy dark orange colour with a fluffy white head, light hop aroma with some fruit, the taste is medium bitterness and fruity with a dry bitter finish.
3.6 12 ounce bottle in Kent Ohio. Smell some bourbon. Amber in color with a white head. Taste the bourbon notes. Sweet. Smooth. Whiskey aftertaste. Medium in body. Just a wonderful beer. Cheers.
2.9 I have seen this beer before but only in six packs. The Cellar in Odessa finally had a single of it, worth a try on one. I have my Cowtown snifter to use tonight and I make the pour. An unusual yellow-amber in color with a wisp of a tan head. It provides a decent nose, I get grain, booze and an expectation of sweetness, let's see about that. The taste is not awful, but it is underwhelming. Toasted bread, a bit of bourbon, a small touch of the barrels, some toffee. The sensation is very thin. Oh well.
4.0 Bottle 33cl. @home poured into a teku glass. Beautiful clear copper colour, small slowly dissipating off-white head, fair lacing. Strong aroma, sweet malt, toasted, bourbon, wood, caramel, vanilla candy sugar. Rich malty taste, light heavy sweet and light bitter, malty, bourbon, caramel, vanilla, candy sugar. Full-bodied, creamy texture, bit sharpish mouthfeel, soft carbonation, aftertaste sweet and light boozy, well-balanced and not too alcoholic, very good.
2.7 33cl fles. Helder licht amber van kleur, fijne romige witte schuimkraag. De geur is whisky en karamel. Smaak is zoet, karamel, rozijnen en waterig.
3.5 12 oz. bottle. Pours a bright clear amber with a white head that dissipates. Bourbon smells over a malt core. Good bourbon flavors with some hops bite and smoke to balance. Low carbonation and a short sweet finish. Pretty good.
3.2 Nic specjalnego. W sumie mało smaku
3.7 12 oz bottle from my Brother-in-law in Danville, KY The ale poured a clear deep amber color with a small white head and very limited lacing. The ale has a wonderful aroma of bourbon and some malt. The ale has a medium body with soft carbonation. After each swallow the bourbon flavor lingers.
3.6 Tap @ Little Delirium, Amsterdam IX 2019.
0.5 Bottle bought at Kvickly Helsingør, Denmark. How bad can a beer be? This was terrible and undrinkable. After a few unpleasant zips the brew went down the drain. Never again.
4.5 One my favorite bourbon sipping ales. Nice ether, and sweet bourbon flavor. I like it best in brandy glass or similar and warm. Disappointing if I am not patient and drink it too cold.
Clear brown with an off white head. Aroma is malts, bourbon, and syrup. Medium body. Light bitter with a salty finish.
2.2 Sample from bottle. 8.2% ABV. Clear bourbon color with a small white head. Surprisingly smooth for the ABV. As expected, definitely has a bourbon flavor finish. Too strong for me.
