Liefmans Kriek Brut

Liefmans Kriek Brut

Liefmans Kriek-Brut is a fresh mature blend which matures over a year and a half, allowing the flavors of wood and almond to become more complex and intense. Kriek-Brut is also a treat to the eye, with its deep brown-red hue, and bold but elegant collar. This luxurious beer balances pure accents with the lightly sweet and gently sour nature of cherries.

Flavor
A luxurious beer with fresh notes and a pronounced cherry nature.

Style
Dark-red Belgian fruit beer, aged on real cherries.

Liefmans Kriek-Brut is a perfect blend of Oud Bruin and pale beer aged on cherries.

The beer is given a year and a half to mature. As such, the timeless tart-sweet flavor has a chance to reach its best.

This luxurious beer represents the perfect marriage between the fresh accents and slightly tart-sweet flavor of cherries. Liefmans Kriek-Brut is a mixed fermentation beer, and every hectoliter contains up to 13 kilograms of fruit.

Liefmans Kriek-Brut has a deep reddish-brown color and a refined collar, with notes of wood and almond. You can clearly taste the lightly sweet and gently sour nature of the fruit. A classy beer, that's immediately clear.

3.6 Bottle 0.33l, vintage 2015. Lightly cloudy, reddish colored. AROMA- sour cherry, sweet, strawberry compot, plums, aged, touch of barrel character. FLAVOR- moderately sweet, just slightly sour, slightly bitter, cherry, strawberry and plum jam. Medium to fuller bodied. Sweet and tasty.
4.3 Nyår 2020. Flaska SB. Kommer inte ihåg mer. Frisk vacker fantastisk. Alla gillar den. Från 2015.
3.8 Dark reddish-brownish color and a white head. Tart cherry nose. Less sweet and a cerry, sour, vanilla taste.
4.1 Just extra-ordinary. Little bit like a wine. Nice sweet beer, balanced with sour taste. Not so huge head. Decent ++.
3.8 Bottle (2019). Sour cherry aroma and taste, red wine notes, wooden notes, light to medium sweet and sour, light bitter notes. Medium to full body, sweet and sour dry cherry finish. Ok.
3.6 Aroma; cherries, vanilla, soil, syrup. Look; fawn head on silky ruby mahogany body. Taste; cherries, vanilla, caramel, soil, wood oil, nut syrup, n finishes semi dry, sweet n fruity. Feel; nice body n co². Overall; it`s nice. [cleaning garaž solo tasting, wrapped in btl@Norway's Healthy Fluids Chain]
3.8 Robe rubis burgonde.
4.0 Afrutadas y sabrosa
1.9 was excited about it due to the fact that i discovered Kriek style for me. This one is disappointing. The cherry taste and the sweetness are too overwhelming no other taste was possible to reckon. tasted like effervescent powder
Interesante.
4.0 Da ordine cantina della birra fine '19
3.3 Too much cherry. Solid backbone that tastes like a good Flanders Brown, but super sweet cherry on top of that, with a hint of cough syrup. A good beer ruined by trying to be too much.
3.3 0,33 bottle. Vörös szín, hab is vöröses-fehér. *** The foam is weak even when filled, but still thick. Red color, foam is reddish-white. Vigorous cherry-cherry aroma blend with beer tickets background. The fruit scent, on the other hand, is very delicate. The taste is really sour, carbonated. Fruity, cherry-cherry flavor, unfortunately for me the beer character itself doesn’t come through. At home, there are fruity beers on a much better beer basis, although they are not as strong and are not sour categories. Otherwise not bad, taste, spiciness okay, quality ingredients, and technology are felt.
3.8 Kirsebær, med en anelse syrlighed/bitterhed. Kompleks i Aroma/smag
Aromat czarnej wiśni, pestek, do tego lekka dzikość. W smaku świetnie zrównoważone pomiędzy wytrawnością i słodyczą. Intensywnie wiśniowe, jest trochę stajni, pestkowa cierpkość. Ciało średnie, wysycenie średnio-wysokie. Świetny kriek.
3.1 This is not a Kriek. A Flanders Brown with a little Cherry flavour. Wouldn't say it's a great Flanders Brown either.
4.0 Hmmm this is the kind of thing that not sure the common audience without a deep understanding of beer would even call beer, but it's delicious! Pours murky red, a thin layer of pink-ish head and sticky lacing. Aroma is very strong cherry. Tastes sweet, tart, a yeasty touch, thin wood and an explosion of cherry. Light bodied and well carbonated. Lush.

3.9 Bouteille 33cl le 30/11/2019. DDM : 09/2028. Mousse : Blanche, bonne tenue. Liquide : Ambrée/rougeâtre, opacité moyenne. Nez : Cerise, fruité, cidre, acidité, sucre. Bouche : Fruité, cerise, cidre, sucre roux, acide, sucrée. Palais : Carbonatation moyenne, bonne longueur en bouche.
3.7 Dark brown color with light brown head. Aroma has cherries and other fruits. Taste is fruity with long a bit sweet and sour aftertaste. Flavors of cherries, berries and sweet earthy notes.
3.6 Mikołaj Rutkowski is drinking a Kriek Brut (2019) by Brouwerij Liefmans at Otomat
4.8 One of the best (if not the best) 'kriek'beers in the world! Ok, there are better... but only brewed in a very small amount and almost not available if you don't know the brewer. But this is how a real 'kriek'beer should taste: sour and NOT sweet! Opening a big bottle is always a feast with friends: and always a nice surprise for those who never tasted a real 'kriek': tasty, refreshing and bringing a smile on the faces. For me the perfect beer to enjoy on a sunny evening sitting on a terras in the shade.
3.9 330ml bottle. Pours deep murky ruby with a sparse beige-pink head. Aromas of sour cherries, malt and oak and vanilla. Acidic cherry and fruit flavours married with candy floss and malt. Low end of the carbonation scale, probably a wise choice to keep carbonic acid levels in check. Balanced mouthfeel with no creaminess detected. Finishes tart and quite dry. This is the beer that turned me on to sour beers, after struggling to find a liking in the trend for at least 10 years. It has become the beer I buy most frequently, even if it isn't the best example of the style.
4.0 A bit sour, sweet and intense for cherry taste. Not for a daytime beer under the sunlight, but great for a warm evening.
