Lion Lager (Sri Lanka)

Lion Lager (Sri Lanka)

Undoubtedly the best selling among our mild beers, Lion Lager has a 4.8% alcohol volume and is credited as a great thirst quencher. Golden roasted malt in colour with a hint of fruit and caramel flavouring, it is very slightly sweet with less hop notes. The attractive labeling is in sophisticated black and gold, showcasing our strong but watchful golden lion as the king of the savannah, symbolising visionary leadership and power.

1.5 Clear golden appearance. Aroma is corn and malt. Flavour is hops, malt and sweet.
3.6 I have tried many beers from Europe and Asia but this particular beer stands out for me. A quick warning about the purchase of this beer, smaller vendors in Sri Lanka tend to water down the original beer. Excellent golden colour, refreshing and malty with a slightly sweet aftertaste this is a beautiful beer which needs more recognition.
2.2 Gold, wenig Krone. Minimal Malz, wässrig, etwas Petrolnoten.
0.9 Metalic watery taste. Terrible second taste in mouth. One of the worst beer I have tried
2.6 Une bonne bière de vacances sans prétention ! La meilleure option du pays !
2.4 Řekl bych že lehce nadprůměrný mezinárodní ležák. Čekal jsem to horší. Sladove vodové klasika.
2.3 [625ml bottle from Westholme Stores, Goring.] A straw coloured pour with a fading white head; grassy aroma; sweet cereal body; and a vague grassy bitterness to finish. A typical tropical lager.
2.5 330ml bottle at Shabab in Leeds. Clear golden-brown body, dissipating pearl white head, spotty lacing. Modest smell of cereal and distant herbal hops. Mid-sweet cereal to the taste profile with vague moments of fruity hops beneath. Ends mid-sweet. Okay with the spiced Indian food. (Leeds 02.07.2019).
2.9 Bottle. Slightly hazy darker golden, medium white head, not lasting. Slightly sweet corn nose, a bit fruity. Mild grassy bitterness, slight sweetness, shorter aftertaste. Lighter body. Surprisingly not bad at all.
1.8 Copenhagen 24/3 2019. 33 cl bottle from Meny, Borups Alle, Frb F. Close up of Lion face in dramatic colors on the label. Pour clear golden yellow with a small white head.Settles as thin patch of foam drifting around on the surface of the beer. No lacing. Aroma is sweet, weird and artificial. Sweet malts, the things you use in your toilet to make the odor bearable which actually makes it worse, butter, artificial citrus. Strong carbonation. Thin, watery, tingling, lively texture. Flavor is rather sweet followed by a moderate bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet with an artificial tang. Lingers for a mercifully short time. I would not call it forgettable but I would surely wish that it was.
1.3 On tap, bottle and can all over Sri Lanka. Clear golden with white head. Light malty with grain and corn. Semi dry with low bitterness and low carbonation.
2.0 33cl fles. Helder goudgeel kleur, fijne witte schuimkraag. De geur van mout en gras. Smaak is zoet, maltose, gras en waterig. Licht lichaam, veel koolzuur.
2.4 Pours clear golden with a thin head. Aroma of malts, grains. Taste of malts, grains. Watery. Light bitter finish
1.8 Bottled, 330ml from Beers of Europe, Kings Lynn, Norfolk. Gold with short lived white head. Another blatant country blag for me, a rates a rate. Fusty cereal grainy malts, thin palate, some earthiness, some sweetness. A bit claggy on the palate with a chemical note. Pretty poor but I'm happy.
2.3 Bottle from Hopt. Aroma is sweetish grainy malt with cereal and a touch of rice. Flavour is moderate sweet and light bitter. Body is medium. Fairly boring Lager.
1.5 Bottle from an online Asian supermarket. Downtuned bready aroma. Light amber. Sparse bubbly white head. Vaguely sour and malty. Some underlying sweetness. All a bit chemical. Light. Thin. Fizzy carbonation. Abrupt finish with continuing chemical aftertaste. Pretty awful stuff but saved from being completely abysmal by virtue of being so low key.
0.5 The worst lager I have tasted. Up there with XXXX in Australia. How can a beer be this bad?
2.5 Boca 0,6L - kupljena u lokalnoj trgovini - prosječan lager, nit smrdi nit miriši
2.3 Don't remember much because it was while ago. Just remember the overall rating.
3.8 Very smooth beer, smoother than Sean Connery in at least 3 James Bond films. Definitely recommend.
Aroma is fruitig (banaan mandarijn). Smaak is ook fruitig maar plat.
