Little Creatures Pale Ale

Little Creatures Pale Ale

We love our Pale Ale. Many of us from the brewery have made pilgrimages around the world in search of great varieties of this wonderful style. Surprisingly, there are no great secrets to brewing this type of ale but there are most definitely no great shortcuts.
Bag loads of Cascade and Galaxy whole hop flowers that we source direct from hop growers in Victoria, Tassie and the US are thrown at this beer, creating an intense citrus and grapefruit aroma and flavour that we balance with a careful selection of specialty malts and a local pale malt made to our own specifications.
Preservative and additive free our Pale Ale is live-yeast conditioned in bottles and kegs for unmatched freshness and character.
From brewing to release, a batch of pale ale takes about six weeks, allowing for two weeks conditioning in the bottle after packaging.
No artificial additives are included, just great ingredients. Pour it into a glass to enjoy it at its best!

The beer’s character is driven by the use of fresh whole hop flowers. Hop Flowers are carefuly selected that are bursting with aroma and contain all the essential oils and acids that deliver an uniqe flavour experience. Drink a few pints of this beer and you’ll soon become one of us…a certified "hophead" craving those crisp citrus flavours of grapefruit and passionfruit and maybe a bit of honey, all backed up with a good balance of bitterness.

If you’re wondering what on earth malt or hops actually are then click on the two hop characters to the left and find out more.

It’s not just the hops that make Little Creatures Pale Ale what it is though. Selected malts are kilned in small batches to our specifications and are used exlusively in our pale ale. Two different yeasts are used to both ferment and bottle condition the beer. The latest technology and equipment is used to maintain absolute quality control and one of the main ingredients in the pale ale has got to be the amount of passion that it takes to produce a seriously good beer...we live for it!

From brewing to release, a batch of pale ale takes about six weeks, allowing for two weeks conditioning in the bottle after packaging. No artificial preservatives or additives are included, just great ingredients.

4.7 Hard to beat for a refreshing pale ale that is easy to drink. Not too much hops, really well balanced
3.6 Good beer, malty, some fruit, dry bitterness. Copper, white head, very light sweetness, decent drop.
3.7 Tight foamy white head stayed on an unclear amber body. Bubble gum & sweet fruit aroma. Medium bodied, to fly on the front with sticky back. Bubble gum, hoppy, bitter, grapefruit & sweet fruity tastes with a light malt backbone. Nicely balanced
3.0 Can from somewhere in Lewisham. Golden /amber pour with a white head. Nose is sweet citrus, peach. Taste is grapefruit, orange peel, apricot. Hoppy bitter finish.
3.7 Old notes from Oct 2014- A 330 ml bottle from Waitrose. Pours cloudy golden with a small white head. Aroma is light & fresh with a citrus fruity hoppiness. Taste is also fruity with citrus present as well as apricot, grapefruit & freshly cut grass and fruit hops. Mouth feel is soft and smooth and has a very light bitterness. Aftertaste is there’s some freshly cut grass and fruity hops. Overall having not had this for a few years I'd forgotten just how good this beer is.
3.5 This is a great Australian pale ale, slightly bitter but very well balanced, aroma is nice
4.0 Really nice hoppy pale ale. Get a slab every now and then as it’s a bit pricey. Visited Fremantle earlier in the year and had one from the tap there; Marvellous!
5.0 Best beer ever! I use it as a benchmark when trying new beers. I've loved it for years now.
3.3 텁텁한 맛이 싫지 않게 입을 채우며 사라진다. 약간의 투발함이 매력으로 다가온다.
3.5 (Bottle, 0.33 l - BB 10.11.2020, at Aussie Bar, 20200626) The beer poured amber and hazy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had fruitiness, floralness and herbalness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, grass, caramel, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was grassy and bitter. A pleasant hoppy brew.
4.0 Rich golden amber in colour with a decent white head, faint aroma of malt, lemon and sea spray. Rounded flavour of toasted malt with some honey sweetness and a light lingering bitterness. Nice Australian pale ale, very drinkable. Can in my garden in London, but it reminds me of the waterfront at Fremantle - especially Little Creatures Next Door, now sadly defunct.
4.5 Goes down easily.. Round evenly balanced pale ale.. Nice hop aroma
3.7 One of the first beers I was comfortable drinking en masse. So delicious and goes down easy!
3.5 Good pale ale. Well balanced bitterness. Light amber color. A touch of citrus flavor with some sweetness.
3.2 Liquide ambré clair avec mousse aérienne. Nez malté à souhait. En bouche, petite attaque ronde puis présence d'une forte touche de pin. Petite bière sympa et rafraîchissante sans prise de tête !!!
4.2 Bottle, appetising caramel colour, really good hoppy and citrus taste.
3.2 Bottle. Appearace ambe clear golden with little whitehead. Aroma malty. Taste hit with moderate citrus, hoppy, middle feel with malts, moderate full bitterness in middle, lasting a bit piney. Light body. After let the beer sit for awhile, malt becomes the leading character.
4.9 Bottle at Antipodea, Richmond. Clean and crisp on pour, lots of fizz. Subtle citrus and pine aromas, with a dry taste and refreshing finish.
3.3 Aroma : Lightly toasted sweet malt, big grapefruit citrus, lemongrass and hay. Taste : As aroma. Crisp with a big dry citric bite. A pale ale with character. Very much like a USA West Coast IPA!
2.8 Meh. Cirtusy.
3.4 Such a reliable staple. It’s like toilet paper on the shopping list, responding “good and you” wjen someone asks how you are, or not liking Trump
4.0 Floral citrus light refreshing well balanced hoppy
3.5 Floral, citrusy, hoppy, hazy amber, taste same as aroma, pleasant, drinkable, thin but smooth
3.5 Fantastic drink. Really leans into the essence of a pale ale. Possibly the defining pale ale to me? Well-balanced and noticeably clean.
