3.7 (Tap) hazy pale yellow colour with a small white head; aroma of ink, compote; balanced flavour with a long, light bitter finish (update) much better on tap at the source: cloudy, bright yellow colour with a small white head; aroma of lilies, cloves, banana; creamy palate; balanced flavour with a long, light bitter finish
3.7 Can shared at Lucky Bamboo share. Pours a clearish gold with a full 2 fingers of foam that dissipate. Banana and clove forward aromas with some light lemon. Clean and smooth on the palate. Body is a bit thin compared to the German classics, but the flavors are there. Lingering clove and faint floral, banana and light grassy hops on the finish.
3.0 Can from a friend. Clear yellow pour with a thick white head. Aroma of malt, banana and clove. Malty flavor with banana and clove accents before a watery finish. Yep, it's a weizen.
3.9 Can from Mark B thanks for helping me try this elusive bugger. Lightly hazy straw yellow color with a thin bubbly white head that dissipates quickly. Lots of banana and clove on the nose and flavor with light grainy sweet bready malt underneath and a light tartness in the finish. Very tasty Hefe.
3.5 Draft. A- Light, spices, banana. A- Yellow color, hazy liquid, minimal head. T- Cloves, banana. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, balanced finish. O- When I started in craft, this would've been a high 4 for me. Up there with the best hefes I've had form Germany. Really good and probably a better beer than I am giving it credit for.
4.1 Draft at the source. Poured hazy golden with a nice white head. Aroma was banana, clove, yeast. Taste was sweet, yeasty, banana, bubblegum. Very good.
4.0 Not a bad Hefe at all. Not the best, but I've had worse.
3.6 12 ounce can poured into a pint glass. The beer is a hazy yellow with a white head of foam. The aroma is grainy and grassy. Some honey and herbs in the taste. Medium body and high carbonation.
3.4 A good tasting beer, similar but not as tasty as an Allagash white. More clear and head than I expected, but again, the taste was pretty good.
3.7 Can. Hazy yellow straw pour. Some white foam on top. Nose has cloves, bananas, feels nicely spicy. Even more cloves in taste, yeasty and a bit spicy. Super nice weizen. Grainy malt-forward finish, leaves good grainy linger.
3.7 Nice light cloudy golden color. Big bananas, clove, slightly sweetish nose. Nice light body, good carbonation. Nice banana character. Good stuff.
3.5 Can - pours gold white head - nose and taste of banana, coriander, wheat malt - medium body
4.0 Can into a snifter showing well filtered orangish yellow with sparse white foam. The nose shows pronounced notes of banana and bubble gum. The palate is light bodied and well carbonated. Dry but pronounced flavors of banana and bubble gum throughout with more on the finish.
3.5 Can from my man Justin, carried back from TX. Lemony wheat nose, cloves and apricots. Cloudy pastel yellow with lace. Rich whaet flavor, clove, light banana, orange, stone fruit. Rather oily, very low carbonation. Almost flat. Nicely spicy finish. Seems a bit old, but don’t see a date. Tasty, though not up there with the best, imo.
4.6 This is my favorite Hefe, my favorite wheat, and one of my most favorite beers I've ever tried. Its drinkable, refreshing, and yet has robust sweet flavor.
4.1 Is this the best American hefe? If not, I’d love to try the ones above it. Very straight forward German hefe- no gimmicky flavors. Straight banana and clove in perfectly balanced bunches. Nice thick white head on a muddy body with an almost Guinness like creamyness and mouth feel. Medium carbonation with a soft finish. Almost perfect. Not surprisingly, it’s better on tap, but excellent any way you can get your hands on it.
3.8 Tapmat ginger man Austin. Pours slightly cloudy straw some head tons of lacing. Nose is dough and banana. Notes of yeast banana, citrus, grassy bitterness. Taste med bitter light sweet. Fullish body sticky lively carbonation.
3.7 Can from keith. Tons of banana and vanilla. Flavor follows. Solid beer. Really like the pleasant zezty.
3.0 Can, pours a hazy golden with small white head. Heavy banana, potpourri, Belgian yeast, cloves, coriander and other heavy handed spices. I guess I don’t like hefeweizens if this is one of the best out there. It’s over the top perfume
3.5 12oz can. Unfiltered bright yellow-tan body. Thin but fading head. An enjoyable beer. Medium bodied. Restrained but present yeast tones...could use just a hint more of banana character..clove too. Either way it is hyper sessionable, clean, well done. Solid beer.
3.7 Pours a clear golden yellow from the can with fluffy white head that dissipates to leave moderate lace. Aroma of nice peppery and banana yeast esters over a bready grain. Taste follows with a hint of light citrus notes. Easy drinking and pleasant, a solid hefe, a little to clear though.
4.1 Type: 12-oz. can Glass: Clear 23-oz. wheat glass From: My friend, Jay Price: N/A Purchased: N/A; Received March 10, 2017 Consumed: March 11, 2017 Reviewed as: Hefeweizen Misc.: No COD; Poured too warm Thanks, Jay! Was lucky enough to receive this as part of a 10-beer package sent by Jay. Had heard great things about this one. Really looking forward to trying a good Hefe. Poured a light yellow semi-hazy color with one finger of fizzy gray head, which thinned out immediately. Lots of bubbles coming up from the bottom of the glass. Decent lacing. Average retention. (Sight - 3.50) Smelled a nice whiff of Hefeweizen notes, including banana bread, dried banana chips, cloves, Circus Peanuts candy, Juicy Fruit, lemon zest and hints of coriander. Very juicy on the nose for a Hefe. (Smell - 4.50) Taste followed the nose, although not quite as good overall. Got banana bread, sugary Circus Peanuts candy, honey, Juicy Fruit, lemon zest, coriander, hints of tangerine, peppery spices that I really didn’t get in the nose, pears and a touch of green apple. (Taste - 4.25) Light body. Oily texture. Lively carbonation. Long, juicy finish. (Feel - 4.50) Wow, very good. Probably my second-favorite Hefeweizen, only trailing Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier. (Overall - 4.50) 4.34 96 A

4.0 12oz can. Pours straw yellow with a medium, frothy white head. Aroma is wheat, banana, bread, clove, a touch of lemon, and a hint of vanilla. Taste is banana, clove, wheat, citrus, bubblegum, and yeast. Long, dry finish. Light body. Slightly above average carbonation. Creamy mouthfeel.
4.0 Banana. Yeast. Clove. Cloudy effervescent very pale yellow. Thick foamy white head. Long retention. Leaves a foamy residue on the glass and on the surface of the beer. Smooth. Light bodied. Velvety. Yeasty. A hint of sour and a hint of clove. Soft finish. Nice.
2.8 Can pour, medium head. Malts and flour strong in the aroma. Creamy, thick malted body with a smooth almost flat finish.
3.5 Draft at The Esquire on the SAN Antonio Riverwalk. Pours cloudy gold color with thick white head and lacing. Nose of banana and coriander. Banana and creamy wheat malt with coriander and citrus notes.
4.1 From the can and on tap, this has been a great beer to have while visiting Austin this weekend. Chewy, banana, clove...it’s a damn great hefe.
