3.5 1/2 pint from tap at Penguin Bar, Bilbao. brown/reddish cloudy color, small off white head. smells light funk, nice wood notes, marzipan, nutty, very light cherry notes, very nice smell. Full body, light carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes lightly sour, some cherries, hints of funk, grassy, wood, marzipan nutty. finishes very light with notes of cherries, wood and grass. loved the smell, taste just trails away, finish is too boring. would like to rate this higher, but finish is basically tasteless, might be related to freshness.
3.8 Tap. Aroma has toffee malts and dark cherries. Pours reddish amber with a circle of thin tan foam. Taste has medium sweetness but the tartness is there from the start. This ensures that the flavours linger well with only mild carbonation. It was a hit with me.
3.6 Draught at City Beer. Dark copper color, white head. Sour taste with cherry, tart, wheat, a bit sour apples, acidic notes and grass. Sour finish with cherry, tart, a bit of sour apples and acidic notes. Very nice sour ale.
4.0 Bottle from Beergium. Tart taste with cherries and some other dark berries. Similar taste. Nice!
4.0 Schouskjelleren Ølfestival 2016. Dark red body with a tiny head. Aroma of sour cherries, red fruit, funk and spices. Taste is tart, mild sour, with cherries and a biting funkiness. Astrigent woody finish with a delightful fruit and berry finish.
3.7 Poured from a 750 ml bottle with a best by date of 06/2017. Aroma is a balanced blend of fruit and malt. Cherry is the dominant fruit with some lighter raisin, berry and plum notes. Malt is caramel and toasted bread. Faint oak notes. Pours a fairly clear auburn color with a medium large, moderately thick, frothy, light tan head that shows good retention as it slowly recedes to a small film that lingers. Faint lacing and legs. Flavor is somewhat sweet with a moderate acidity. Some caramel, toasted bread and grain notes with hints of nuts and toffee. Moderate cherry notes with some lighter tropical fruit, citrus, raisin, and plum. Light oak notes. Medium light bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium high carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a pretty nice Flanders style red ale but not as fruity as one would expect with the addition of the cherries. A really nice balance between the malt and fruit as well as between the acidity and sweetness. I think the age has dulled the flavor and aroma a bit though.
3.4 750ml capped bottle pours a hazy reddish color with a fizzy white head that dissipates quickly leaving no lacing on the glass. Aroma is cherries with some yeast funk. Taste is a cherry tartness with a malty sweetness and a dry red wine like finish. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Overall, a very tart ale that is only recommended for true sour brew lovers.

3.8 Aroma of sweet cherries, balsamic vinegar, oak, vanilla, red wine. Pours deep cherry red / mahogany, off white head. Taste is sweet with a nice tartness. Not really sour. Follows the nose pretty much. Medium plus body, soft carbonation, silky mouthfeel, vinous finish. Very enjoyable.
4.0 Bottle. Aroma of sweet cherries, oak and a little vinegar. Taste is massive amounts of juicy cherries, some cranberries, with the beer then opening up to a residual sourness. Definitely closer to a Rodenbach Alexander than a traditional lambic Kriek, but elements of both are here. Very easy to drink and very good overall.

3.7 Bottle @ ZZT 2016-1, small sample. Thanks all for sharing! Cloudy reddish color, medium frothy head. Aroma of lots of cherry, marzipan. Bit sweet in taste, cookie, soft sourness. Nice.
3.9 Bottle: Poured a cloudy reddish color ale with a medium off-white foamy head with limited retention and some lacing. Aroma of fresh cherry with vinous and oak notes is pretty interesting. Taste is a mix of cherry and vinous notes with some oak and some light residual sugar notes. Body is quite full with medium carbonation. Very well balanced overall with good level of complexity while retaining some good drinkability. There is more cherry in this then a regular Flander style beer which make it even more enjoyable.
4.7 Thank you Joes! 750 ml. bottle sampled @ ZZT 2016-1. Red amber, little head. Nose is sweet cherry – massive with low complimentary sourness. Taste is massive rich, juicy sweet cherry with low complimentary sourness,…. This tastes like they used delicious sweet cherries & not sour ones as promised by the label (kriek = sour cherry), doesn’t matter, this is delicious, fruit is massive, juicy, sourness is amazingly restrained & complimentary especially for an USA brewer, faint oak. Rich bodied. Very nice fruit sour. Great stuff.
